“Mamas fish house is by far one of the most beautiful and delicious restaurants in all of Hawaii. The view is absolutely breathtaking, the ambience will blow you away and the food is just incredible. The fish is so fresh they will tell you where it was caught and the name of the fisherman who caught it. They are very famous for their mai tais but they have an incredible wine selection and make phenomenal cocktails. I love the beef Polynesian which is a poke’ style filet served in a grilled papaya half. The venison appetizer is also one of my favorites. They have great sashimi, and Tahitian Ceviche served in a coconut half. ”

National Park
“This national Park is a must see while here on Maui. It’s about an hour drive from our cottage a lot of people like to reserve a spot for viewing the sunrise. But I don’t find that totally necessary going there anytime of day is beautiful and you don’t have to make a reservation to go for the afternoon or sunset. You can hit up the lavender farm while you’re up there as well.”

“This is the oldest and best luau on Maui. You will want to make reservations WAY in advance. It is truly cultural and a sight to see. You will not be disappointed and you might learn something you did not know about Hawaiian culture in the process. www.oldlahainaluau.com”

Café

“This is a little bit of drive, maybe 10 minutes depending on traffic, but if you’re looking to overindulge for breakfast, you’ve found the right place. Macadamia pancakes with coconut syrup are a specialty, but be hungry. A few pointers as this place gets very busy and you should expect to wait. First, there is some seating on first come first served basis, but do not sit until after you’ve ordered – seating is tough so we do take out sometimes. Second, it used to be cash only, and I don’t know if that’s changed, so be prepared. Finally, while you’re waiting in line be aware of the chickens which frequent the outside of the restaurant. That said, this is a Kihei institution and you should give it a shot.”

“Famous for their mango salsa topped fish tacos and taco mountains. Their coleslaw has a delicious twist (horseradish?) and the atmosphere is fun with surfboard shaped tables and big screen tv's playing surf videos. Their customer service is world class. Not to miss.”

Parque
“The most sacred place on Maui. Come here to learn about the Hawaiian history of Iao Valley, take a short hike to view the famous Iao "needle," or a longer hike into the valley. You can take a dip in the stream, picnic in the picnic area boasting pavilions and several little structures and gardens created to resemble the styles of various cultures of the early settlers here. This is a very special place! If you do not have a Hawaiian ID, there is a $5/car fee to park. You do not need to dedicate a whole day here, but we highly suggest not missing it. Schedule an hour one morning to check it out before continuing on with your day. :)”

Beach
“While we love the close proximity to Charles Young beach, there are two other great beaches in walking distance from our unit. Of the three, we really enjoy Kam III for its soft sand and swimmer-friendly waters. It's also the largest of the Kihei beaches and is nearby lots of great shops and restaurants.”
