It has 3 lovely bedrooms with double beds, plus a sun room with a sofa bed. All rooms have ceiling fans and electric heaters. The well equipped kitchen includes a fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, glasses, pots & pans, utensils, etc. The kitchen also has a view of the waterfront (great for families). There is no cottage phone, so bring your cell phone - there is good reception for cell phones. Outside, enjoy the cottage deck with a propane BBQ and patio set, relax in the chaise and lounge chairs on the larger lakeside deck, while the kids amuse themselves! The lake has a nice, sandy bottom with shallow entry. The depth is still only 4 feet at the end of the dock. There is a swim raft and water trampoline farther out, in deeper water. Lower Buckhorn Lake is a great lake to explore by kayak or canoe and has excellent fishing (largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, muskie, pickerel, & perch). We offer a quad paddle boat, a tandem kayak, a large canoe and several kids kayaks to share (adult life jackets provided). Deer Bay is located between Locks 30 and 31 on the Trent Severn Waterway and is just right for waterskiing, wakeboarding and tubing. You may dock your own boat, or boats can be rented just down the lane, where there is a boat launch as well. Of course, in the evening, enjoy time spent by the campfire pit and watch the moon rise as its reflection dances right across the lake! Just across the cottage lane is a woods with trails for hiking and biking. There is also a candy/tuck shop at the resort down the lane – a favorite trip for kids of all ages. Yes, they sell worms and serve ice cream too! This is a privately owned and well loved cottage that is well suited for families - with friendly neighbours close by. The cottage is about 20 mins north of Peterborough, close to Lakefield and just a few minutes drive from Buckhorn, so there are lots of amenities nearby. There are several restaurants, art galleries, a winery, fruit and vegetable farms, and various stores (LCBO, grocery, general, pharmacy, bookstore and boutiques) within just a few kms. There are also several golf courses within 30 mins. If you are able, please feel free to bring your own bed linens, towels, and kitchen linens. If you bring your own linens, and leave the cottage clean, the way you found it, then your cleaning fee will be refunded to you.
There is so much fun to be had swimming, sliding in and bouncing on the Lake! There is great fishing on Lower Buckhorn Lake! And the lake is fun to kayak, canoe and paddle around! There is a trampoline in the back and a kids' hideaway. There is a candy shop down the lane at the housekeeping cottage resort. Berry farms nearby offer seasonal pick your own berries and fresh veggies. In nearby Buckhorn there is a Foodland, a Bakery, LCBO, Drug Store, General Store, Hardware Store and several Restaurants and Pubs. The Kawartha Winery is just up the road with local fruit wines produced on premises. Gallery on the Lake offers fine art for sale. Farmers markets in Buckhorn on Tuesdays and Lakefield on Thursdays. Stunning 4 season waterfront cottage on prestigious Stoney Lake offering 220 feet of shoreline! Great fishing, boating and canoeing. Private quiet setting just 2 hours from Toronto. Fully renovated with open layout, vaulted ceiling, gas fireplace, heated bathroom floor and stocked kitchen. 2 lakeside decks, 20 ft dock, canoe, metal boat and fire pit. Bunkhouse contains life jackets, paddles and lake toys. Private setting with lots of trees - 1 minute boat ride to main part of lake.
Stoney Lakehouse has all the comforts of home including wifi, Netflix, Wii and more. We provide board games, lake toys and a library of novels which we encourage you to enjoy during your stay! We have a wide lot (over 200 ft of shoreline). Our waterfront faces an island and our narrow channel provides great boating and wildlife observation. We do tend to get a lot of weeds at our waterfront so swimming isn't optimal. There is excellent swimming at sandy Quarry Bay Beach about 20 minutes from the cottage and you can take the boat into deeper waters to swim. We are fortunate to have garbage and recycling pick up so guests don't need to worry about their garbage at the end of their stay - simply put it in the bin out front.
If you are looking to explore the area, there are so many options! We are close to the Warsaw Caves, hiking trails, Quarry Bay sandy beach, Burleigh Falls waterfall, Kawartha Adventure Rentals, McCracken's Landing market and restaurant, Petroglyphs Provincial Park, Kawartha Park Marina, and shopping and restaurants in Lakefield, including a 24 hour Foodland grocery store. Conveniently, both Young's Point and the Burleigh Falls Market are just a few minutes' drive away and have general stores with the basics. Young's Point also has a beer and liquor store. The Burleigh Falls Inn and Market is just a 5 minute drive from the cottage - there you will find firewood, groceries and other staples. They also offer The Grill restaurant as well as Kawartha Adventure Rentals for larger lake toys.

Beautiful cottage with all day sun in a quiet harbour on Stoney Lake. Swim off the dock or explore the lake on the paddle boat or tandem kayak. Enjoy the open-plan kitchen and dining area. Relax by the fire in the living room. Paddle up to Burleigh Falls (or take a 10 minute drive) for an icecream or dinner at the Burleigh Falls Inn. Drive 25 minutes to Lakefield or Buckhorn for their fantastic cafes, bakeries and pubs, or to McCracken's Landing for a fabulous lakefront meal at The Lantern.
We fell in love with this cottage for its endless charm - natural wood, open spaces indoors with both a living and family room, and lots of natural light. The outside works its way down to a beautiful quiet peaceful bay, with great swimming and fantastic boat access to the rest of the lake. We hope you'll love it as much as we do!
This location is near many fantastic motorcycling/road bicycling roads. Bring your favourite two wheeled vehicle along with you and do some exploring! Lakefield (20 min drive) is an adorable little town with a 24 hr Foodland, LCBO and Beer Store, library, gift shops, Home Hardware, pubs (highly recommend Canoe and Paddle), and great bakeries (we love Stuff’d). Petroglyphs Provincial Park, Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park, and the Warsaw Caves are all nearby for fun adventures and exploring. A medium-length paddle or short drive away is McCracken’s Landing, where you’ll find ice cream, baked goods, and a fabulous restaurant: The Lantern (a must for romantic sunset dinners!)

There are several fee based boat launches on the lake (ask for details), or feel free to use the canoe, aluminum boat, or kayaks to quietly explore the lake. Lake is wade-in with gradual slope in water. Swimming is best from one of the many islands in the lake, or at the public beach at Sandy Lake, just a short drive away. Numerous islands are located within the lake including Wolf Island Provincial Park which is available for exploring and hiking. The lake is well suited for boating, water skiing and fishing, and has a large bay called Deer Bay which is particularly great for water skiing. The lake is part of the Historic Trent Severn Waterway. A dam and lock 31 are located in the community of Buckhorn, which controls the inflow from Buckhorn Lake at the northeast. To the west, lock 30 will allow access to Lovesick lake, then lock 28 through Burleigh Falls provides access to Stony Lake. And if your timing is right, you may be able to watch the moon rise over Deer Bay, and be mesmerized by the moonlight shimmering and reflecting off the water. The property features several mature trees that offer a well-balanced mix of shade and open sunny areas. The water is usually pretty warm, come the middle of July, there is a muddy bottom on our lake, so we recommend water shoes. Our lake has weeds, we've done our best to manage them, you can swim directly off of the dock and we recommend wearing water shoes at all times.

10/10 volvería a alquilar.

“Tall Pines” is an original cozy cottage built in the 1960’s situated on a peninsula with a point. The cottage overlooks a bay and has its own private dock. There is a fire pit and benches overlooking the water on the point. THE COTTAGE IS NOT WINTERIZED. We open the cottage in June 2019.
"Tall Pines" is one of the original cottages on the bay. It is small and cosy, yet easily sleeps 6 people. In addition, there is a sleeping cabin which sleeps 2 people. It is very close to the water and offers wonderful views of the lake and nature from the porch. The water in front of the cottage is shallow which allows for small children to play and explore. Fishing, canoeing, kayaking and sailing can be easily enjoyed from this location. Nature lovers will enjoy white pines and pink granite outcroppings.
All the cottagers in the bay are friendly and take full advantage of this lovely place for both swimming, fishing and boating.

Stony Lake is the gem of the Kawartha's. There is breathtaking Canadian Shield landscape everywhere you look along with hundreds of islands to explore. This is one of the first lakes that people cottaged on over 100 years ago so there are plenty of stunning century cottages to see! Stony Lake offers world class fishing and an abundance of wildlife to see. The cry of loons echo throughout the lake at sunset creating an unforgettable experience. Some must see's while you are on the lake: St Peter's on-the-rock is a stunning Church on a nearby island that provides service on Sundays! Burleigh Falls are minutes away and a great spot to swim, or just dock the boat and have lunch while watching the rapids empty into the lake. Juniper Island is also minutes away. Check out the photos and history lesson in the covered portion of their dock - where the steam boats dropped off cottagers in the early 1900's! On the island is a sailing club, tennis courts, general store and event space! McCracken's Landing is where we park our cars and is a 5-10 minute boat ride away. There is a great restaurant, general store for supplies and ice cream along with a cottage supply store for all water activities you could imagine! Carveth's Marina is just down the road from McCracken's and offers parking, water taxis along with a small store and most importantly gas for your boat! Lakefield is beautiful nearby town accessible by boat if you have time for a day trip. You pass through a set of locks at Young's Point. You can also get there by car in 15 minutes. The town has everything you would need: groceries, hardware store, restaurants, coffee shops etc.

We are located on the northern edge of Peterborough County in the heart of the Kawartha Lakes region. North Kawartha encompasses the Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park and Petroglyphs Provincial Park. The Kawartha Highlands is Ontario’s largest park south of Algonquin and the Petroglyphs are the largest concentration of native rock carvings in Canada. Along with these provincial parks North Kawartha is also home to the Peterborough Crown Game Preserve which boasts the Kawartha Nordic Ski Club. In fact nearly 60% of the township’s geographic area is protected. Tourism and recreational activities are North Kawartha’s main attractions, with thousands of seasonal residents and visitors flocking to our community each year. The Trent Severn Waterway passes through our southern region while the north has numerous large lakes and streams that replenish this waterway each year. Interspersed with all this fresh, clean water are vast tracts of forested lands and Canadian Shield outcroppings which supports an incredible variety of wildlife. These natural features offer numerous recreational opportunities like snowmobiling, cross country skiing, hiking, camping, boating, canoeing, ATVing, hunting and fishing. Located along provincial highway 28, an hour northeast of Peterborough, North Kawartha is a vibrant and welcoming community, which prides itself on being self-sufficient and resilient. Comprised of several hamlets including Big Cedar and Woodview, the heart of North Kawartha’s infrastructure, services and the seat of local government is the village of Apsley. We often say that one can live in the village and access every necessary amenity and service without a vehicle. It not only serves the local year round population but the thousands of cottagers and tourists that visit each summer. Since 2006, nearly our entire municipal infrastructure has been expanded and renewed. This infrastructure includes (but is not limited to) the following A public school with licensed childcare facility. Award-winning community complex with state-of-art-fitness centre and NHL size arena. Year-round library service with 2 branches. Newly expanded health care centre with a family physician, nurse practitioner, dentist and chiropractor. New public works and municipal office along with emergency services facilities. Our complete community also includes a grocery store, LCBO, post office, pharmacy, hardware and lumber store, restaurants, motel, gas station, several real estate agencies and a variety of marinas, retail shops and more than a hundred small business owners to meet the needs of our permanent and seasonal population. Since 2006, almost $30 million dollars has been invested in our community’s infrastructure. In addition to all the amazing facilities and services North Kawartha has a number of community groups, organizations and variety of festivals and events. We have a winter carnival, a Trappers festival, an autumn studio tour, the North Kawartha Knights, our Junior C hockey team, a newly created music festival and a number of regatta and water based events in the summer. Abundant natural resources, a comprehensive community infrastructure, and a community of hard-working, cooperative and deeply rooted people; North Kawartha has so much to offer whether you are here for a day, a season or forever. We welcome all to our incredible municipality.
Very small neighborhood and very convenient to towns nearby. You can run or walk around Julian Lake which is a nice 6 km hilly trail plus swimming in the enclosed lake is very enjoyable as well. There is also a restaurant (Uncle Georges) located within walking distance offering breakfast/lunch and dinner. Great food and a great atmosphere (closed Monday and Tuesdays). As well there is the Woodview General Store (directly beside us) which carries groceries, etc.. The towns of Apsley or Lakefield (20 minutes away by car) both have grocery stores, LCBO, etc... There is also a liquor and grocery store in Big Cedar 4 km away and is right on hwy 28. There is a gym with daily memberships to Youngs Point 10 min away and Olympic Pools at Trent University.

Relax with your family among wildlife, perched among the trees over the lake at our private Stoney Lake cottage. We are located in a quiet inlet not far from Burleigh Falls. Most of your time will be spent outside enjoying the multi-level extensive decking, including a tented gazebo with comfortable outdoor furniture. You may also enjoy fishing off the dock, taking a paddle in the kayaks (there are two), or on the paddle board. You can dine in the wooden round 'fishing hut' gazebo.
Our property sits in a back bay on Stoney Lake in a very natural environment, with lots of trees and wildlife. As such, the bay can become weedy (great for fishing), and sometimes not great for swimming. If you prefer cleaner swimming, you can paddle out to a more open part of the lake. Also, due to all of the trees, we don't have a fire pit, and open fires are not permitted on our property. We do have a chiminea where you can have a fire. PLEASE NOTE: Bedroom 4 is a bunkie which has a bunkbed with a queen bed on the bottom and a single bed on the top. There is no washroom in the bunkie, but it is close to the main cottage.
We are a short drive from Burleigh Falls where there are a couple of great restaurants, and a market where you can find fresh veggies, meats and baking. We are also about a 15 min. drive from Lakefield where you will find everything you need if you need further supplies from a quaint and friendly town.

This waterfront retreat comfortably sleeps six people with two washrooms, open concept living/dining room and two walkouts to deck areas. 135 Feet of waterfront to enjoy, either on the private beach or spacious dock. You have use of kayaks, paddle boat, canoe, fishing rods and a wide selection of water toys for both kids and adults. The upper level has a wonderful fire pit area, outdoor dining area, huge deck and our favourite area, the Bocce court. Lots of space to enjoy for all ages!
You have ample room to enjoy the interior space, there is no cable, however, there is a tv. There are also lots of indoor and outdoor, games to play. There is wood for the fire pit and lots of propane ready for your grilling! Also please note the bedroom with the 2 single beds is in a guesthouse next to the main house.
The area itself affords lots of hiking, there's access to Kawartha Highlands Park via Coon Lake that you can drive to or portage through to via Big Cedar Lake (our lake) If you'd like to bring your own boat you can launch it at our beach. You'll have enough to do that you won't feel the need to leave the property. However, with that said...there's an LCBO at the end of the road and a lovely market in Burleigh Falls just in case you need to stock up.
