Observatory
“The Griffith Observatory is a facility in Los Angeles, California, sitting on the south-facing slope of Mount Hollywood in Los Angeles' Griffith Park. It commands a view of the Los Angeles Basin, including Downtown Los Angeles to the southeast, Hollywood to the south, and the Pacific Ocean to the southwest. The observatory is a popular tourist attraction with a close view of the Hollywood Sign and an extensive array of space and science-related displays. Admission has been free since the observatory's opening in 1935, in accordance with the will of Griffith J. Griffith, the benefactor after whom the observatory is named. ”

“This is a pretty cool spot- I have to say, it's one of my favorite spots to shop and eat and see movies. Just unique and charming. Also right next to Farmers Market, which is nothing like a real Farmers Market- it's all shops and places to eat. But is a cool old part of LA history.”

Parque
“Just two blocks from Hollywood Boulevard, Runyon Canyon Park is an often overlooked urban park that offers some great views. Atop the canyon, you can glimpse views of the San Fernando Valley and the Pacific Ocean, as well as the Hollywood Sign and Giffith Observatory. The park also boasts several hiking trails and is a popular spot for celebrities to exercise. Travelers say that the canyon is reminiscent of Old Hollywood with several old mansions and estates scattered throughout the park – keep your eyes peeled as you follow the trail. ”

“This bustling wooden wharf is the place to be, with its eateries, shops, high-tech arcade, roller coaster, giant Ferris wheel and other rides, famous 1922 indoor merry-go-round and fantastic views of the bay and the mountains. This place is legendary , even in our so called winter this place is busy with people and musicians everywhere. There are beach tours, bike rentals, and electric scooters for cruising (lime and bird). Download the apps.”

Recreation Center
“Want to explore the child within you? Try the Ferris wheel (it won’t disappoint) and head to the pier end to see if the resident seal is there. Enjoy some cotton candy or corndogs then head to the beach to play on the gymnastics themed Beach Park (just south of the pier) Some of our favorite Santa Monica restaurants, the Blue Taco, and The Independence. Both are walking distance from the pier. We also highly recommend renting bikes at the bottom of the pier, and biking up to Venice Beach.”
