Tourist Information Center
“Very nice Visitor's Center. You'll see license plates from all over the country here. Gift shop, informational movie, small museum, 2 rocking chairs with full length window view of the New River, restrooms, trail (mostly just steps... a lot) down to great view of New River Gorge Bridge. Park Rangers will answer questions and have maps. Cheesy souvenir shop across the street from parking lot. BridgeWalk entrance is also nearby. Take first road at the north end of the bridge, off US Route 19 (turn right if coming from the south/New River Cottage).”

“Third longest single span arch bridge in the world. It's 875' above the New River. Hiking, world class white water rafting, zip lines, canopy top tours, and Bridge Day every fall with BASE jumping!”

Point of Interest
“Feel adventurous? This is a guided tour of the New River Gorge Bridge from the catwalk 25’ beneath the Bridge. Attached to a safety cable, you will walk the entire 3,030' length of the bridge. Tour lasts 2-3 hours. You are shuttled to and from the bridge. I'm afraid of heights, but loved it. They even have a full moon tour. Incredible views from about 876' up.”

“This bridge used to be the only point of connection across the vast New River Gorge. The drive down to the bridge is sometimes hair-raising sharp turns, but it is worth it. Once you drive across the low Fayette Station Bridge, turn into the parking area just beyond for some great views of whitewater rafters and kayakers battling the rapids. There is also a nice little beach area for kids to dip into (with appropriate supervision, of course). The rocks alongside the river are nice for picnics as well.”
