Beautiful quiet comfortable place, and Tom was a very good host, meeting each and every one of our needs well. The cabins were beautifully furnished, and we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this place if you want to get away from it all in a peaceful setting.

A sweet trio of cabins built and maintained by a lovely family who live on the property. Our boy loved playing with the Camp Joy dogs and watching the horse and donkey, and we loved relaxing by the lake.

Couldn't ask for more. The cabin and exterior were very clean and we have everything we needed. Gwen was very kind and she invited my husband and I to go to her church for Easter Sunday. We walked all of the trails and cooked on the grill, and made smores in the fire pit. We napped during the rain and spent some quiet time with our Lord and savior because he is the only reason we are alive, married, blessed and forgiven. This is a great cabin to enjoy. We enjoyed so many things at the cabin! The hammock, fishing boat, Kayaks, paddle boat, BBQ, meals on the porch. It was so quiet and and nice to listen to all the birds and frogs. We caught a few fish and had great time with family! This is a wonderful place to relax and unwind! Thank you Gwen and God Bless!

I was on business travel and had been for several days, and I was not looking forward to yet another hotel stay. So I decided to try Airbnb while passing through Texarkana, and the first property that popped up was Gwen's place. I booked it immediately! This was a little piece of heaven on earth -- a wonderful cabin right at the edge of a five-acre lake, with walking trails through a small forest of trees. You could barely see the neighbors, so it was a true getaway experience. Of course I would highly recommend for any family, but I would especially recommend for business travelers who would like to forget that they are having to travel for business! Thank you Gwen for a fantastic, restful experience!

My daughter caught a fish and we had it for dinner! The pond and cabin are so beautiful and everything was immaculate inside. Pots and pans as well as boats and fishing gear...what could be better for a quick trip with kids?

This cabin is absolutely perfect. It's private. It's beautiful. It's relaxing. There's a great deck overlooking the lake with comfy chairs. There is a separate pavilion near the peer with tables, chairs & a swing. There are small boats and canoes available. There is even wood & kindling ready in the fire pit. The cabin itself is so comfortable with everything you need, tons of pillows, extra blankets (because you can really freeze the place out with the air condition), dishes, wine glasses, waters & snacks. There are lots of windows and a lot of space. The bed is super comfy. The shower great - really hot water. I will only stay here when in Texarkana!

This is my first review for any of the Airbnb’s or traditional B&B’s I’ve stayed in. First, the photos on the website do not do the space justice. The best way for me to describe the place is that of a small French cottage. The place is not too big and not to small but just right, for up to a couple and child. The trees keep the place shaded and the waterfall with the gold fish give a surreal tranquil feeling day and night. Elaine and Ken are the best host: both charming and knowledgeable about the area and its history. They quickly responded to the smallest issues with the greatest of attitude until it was resolved. I would highly recommend this place to any of my friends and would definitely stay here again over any other place in town.

Our stay at Bessie's Landing was a wonderful experience.

We had a marvelous time at B.J.'s little lake cabin. The location is just perfect, with lots of privacy and space to roam among the gorgeous east Texas pines. The porch and deck are perfect for a morning of just sitting and watching and enjoying the beautiful view of the water and woods. B.J.'s cabin is stocked with all the necessities and then some, including a Keurig machine for quick coffee or hot cocoa, which we LOVED having in the chilly mornings! :) We cooked in the little kitchen quite successfully, played games around the table, sat beside the fire pit every night, walked around the neighborhood with our dog, and spent a lot of time just sitting on the porch, looking. We saw otters swimming across the water, a blue heron fishing, we heard coyotes howling at the moon every night, and we even had a little armadillo stop by for a visit on the first evening. It was absolutely relaxing, lovely, and a good, easy place to be. We loved it. B.J. was thoughtful and responsive, flexible with us, and very kind. She even gave us brownies and beef jerky upon arrival! Nice treats! :) I would absolutely recommend this little cabin to anyone! The hot water is VERY HOT, but doesn't last too long, so follow her advice and just turn the faucets a little bit when using hot water, and wash your hair first in the shower. :) We only ran out of hot water once, but then we got the hang of it and had no trouble at all, over a three night, four-day stay. Great water pressure in the shower, too! The king-sized bed was super comfy, the blankets, pillows, and towels were all luxurious and fluffy, and we really had every single thing we could ever need to enjoy the weekend. I packed a lot of our camping gear just in case, but the only thing we really needed was our flashlights (the deck stairs are pretty steep), firewood, and food. Not having Internet was a welcome change for us, as it forced us to spend our time with each other and not the rest of the world. I came home feeling refreshed and re-centered, so grateful to have had the time away from everything, and especially post-election social media. :) We'll be back, and we'll recommend this cabin to anyone who wants a lovely getaway in a serene spot not to far from Dallas, with great antiquing and hiking in the state parks very nearby. LOVE IT!

Everything was so awesome! It was quiet and exactly what we needed. We took our three dogs and they absolutely LOVED it. The area seems pretty dog friendly for the most part. The boat was fantastic and the dogs even loved going for rides on the lake. Lol Cable was available but we didn't use it. We made better use of the fire pit for s'mores and keeping warm at night. The s'mores are the BOMB. There was a grill for cooking and almost every cooking utensil we could think of needing for our short trip. Went walking in the woods with the dogs and just enjoyed being awake. We will definitely be going back!

Our host, B.J., met us upon arriving at the cabin. She welcomed us with a peach cobbler and gave us a tour of the property. She encouraged us to explore the cabin and all it had to offer, and we quickly felt at home. The cabin has everything you could need, to include a little grill and a small boat that we used every day. You will also find a fully equipped kitchen. We had the lake to ourselves since the other homes do not have owners that live there full time. It was an extremely peaceful visit and allowed us to decompress from city life. We fished on the dock and from the boat, toasted marshmallows, and just sat and relaxed with the wonderful view of the lake. There is a grocery store about 15 minutes away along with the cute downtown area of Winnsboro should you need anything or feel like visiting. Overall it was a fabulous visit, and we will definitely be back. We appreciated that BJ allowed us to bring our dog, which made our visit complete. We were also appreciative of the outstanding communication, the welcoming on our first day, and the follow up to make sure everything was okay. We absolutely recommend this cute little place!

This is a great Texas cabin on a quiet East Texas lake. You can sit on porch and see the birds and the lake. Great country roads for morning and evening walks.

Our stay was everything we expected and more!!! We loved the seclusion and the peaceful atmosphere of this cabin. Our pups enjoyed it and so did we!! We paddled around on the private lake but also walked to the nearby lake winnsboro and we caught fish there!! The chocolate cake was so tasty and we drove into winnsboro for groceries for the weekend. It was a perfect stay and BJ and Ruby were both very polite and helpful!! Highly recommend this spot and we will be back!!

We loved our stay at B.J.'s cabin for the comfort and the scenic lake view along with all the amenities it has to offer! Most of all we truly loved that we were able to bring out poodle for our small family adventure! The place has everything you can think of all you really need to bring is your toothbrush, clothes, folding camp chairs and food. One of the best part of our trip was sitting out on the fire pit and listening to the coyotes howling and all the beautiful nature noises while roasting marshmallows and winies, it truly was a great experience! Riding B.J.'s boat was my husbands fave, we also cooked every single meal on the small outdoor grill, there was even some charcoal there. Exploring the area and bird watching was nice along with going to town and sight seeing. It was a very memorable 40th birthday trip for my husband, B.J. even gave us a birthday banner for decoration and baked us some mini biscuits, Thank you B.J, we will be coming back for sure!

The cabin was cozy, quiet and very inviting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. B.J. met us and there was a yummy cobbler along with some ice cream in the freezer waiting for us. We quickly checked everything out, went down the road for some live bait and immediately went fishing. Although everything we caught was small it was still relaxing to sit on the dock and enjoy the peace. It was stocked with everything you might need and more. If you forget it, B.J. has it there for you and if not there is a grocery store, Dollar General and Family Dollar right down the road. We loved that it was kind of off the beaten path. We used the boat just to paddle around and see a little more of the lake. Thank you for the most hospitable and quiet weekend! We look forward to coming back and sharing this gem with friends!!!

The cabin was about 12 miles from loop in Tyler. It was a very nice and quiet place to stay. Everything you needed was provided. Simple with a home feeling. I enjoyed watching the deer in the mornings. Beverly and Warren responded in a timely manner with my questions, and was extremely helpful with my multiple bookings I had. I appreciated their patience with me. Due to reasons out of my control, I had to cancel remaining reservations. I hope to return for a pleasure trip and not business.

Beverly and Warren are the best hosts! They were waiting for us at the cabin to show us the place. Everything was nice, cozy and clean. It was very pleasant to find breakfast and snack items in the fridge and pantry, that saved us a trip to a restaurant. We really enjoyed our stay, If we had known the place was so peaceful we would have left San Antonio earlier and spent more days there. This was my second visit. I really like the cabin, its location on a lake, the friendliness of the hosts, and how easy it is to get to from Dallas.

My wife and I had a wonderful time. It was so peaceful and relaxing. All the wildlife was an added bonus, we saw deer, owls , and many beautiful birds. I also caught some nice fish off the pier. We had an awesome stay at Beverly and Warren's lakeside cabin. The cabin was very clean and comfortable, and they provided all that was needed - breakfast foods - eggs, frozen waffles, milk, yogurt, fruit, etc. Towels, toiletries, blankets, etc. The lake was also beautiful and had a great sunset. It was very peaceful and relaxing just sitting and enjoying the nature. Only thing is that we didn't see many deer this time, but maybe next time! Thanks again!

Our stay here was absolutely wonderful. Beverly and Warren are so gracious and accommodating. The cabin had every single thing that we needed including a full kitchen (we cooked most of our meals), washer, dryer and adequate sleeping space for 2 adults and 2 small children. Around the fire pit or out on the dock fishing were our favorite spots to be. Although on the bench watching the sunset by the water was super nice too. We saw all kinds of wildlife including deer, an owl, bass, an alligator gar and lots of caterpillars! The kids LOVED it. It only took us about 12 minutes to get back into town. We ate at Lola's sandwich shop (yum!) and loved Andy's frozen custard (amazing!). We hope to come back some day!

Wow, what can I say? Tom was quickly responsive to all requests I made, and communication was easy and efficient. Amenities were great. The cottage was clean, well-designed, beautiful, and comfortable. Tom and his family were friendly, genuinely kind, multi-talented, and responsive. The lake was full of fish, turtles, birds, and fun to explore in the canoe. The dogs the family was taking care of were friendly and pleasant to be around. The wooden platform between the cottages and the lake was great to lay on at night and star-gaze. The cricket-chorus played a great lullaby to fall asleep to. If I return to the area, this is where I will stay again. Thanks for everything!

This boathouse cottage is beautiful! It is right over the quiet lake with gorgeous views. We liked sitting out on the upstairs deck and watching the full colors of the sunset over the water. The kitchen and dining area are downstairs with another deck and views of the water. The upstairs has an en suite bathroom with a new deep whirlpool tub. Downstairs off the kitchen is a bonus full bathroom with a shower. There was plenty of hot water to go around. If you want romantic and restful, you should consider this cottage in the trees! We are looking forward to returning to this lovely cottage over the lake!! Jeffrey and his wife made things very easy. He responded quickly to all questions and helped us feel right at home.

This was great for a place to "land" while fishing the area lakes, which is what we needed. I wouldn't consider it a "vacation spot" if you're looking for a lake house. It's more of just a pit stop for using the lake. There is no living space, just a bedroom upstairs and kitchen downstairs. That being said it was perfect for what we were doing (fishing) and very clean and comfortable. Super customer service- Jeffrey was very nice and quick to respond with questions.

Absolutely breathtaking cabin with an amazing view! Very quiet and relaxing! Would be a perfect place to stay at for fishing, swimming or just getting away for awhile! The top floor shows how much work was really put into this beautiful place! Everything is custom designed and not your average cabin! Definitely will be back soon!!!

A nice little cabin in the woods. Don't expect a 5-star resort, this is closer to camp. Bring your own air mattress, this one doesn't have a pump and we had to blow it up by mouth. If you don't like spiders, be warned! There were more spiderwebs than we could count surrounding the cabin and in the downstairs bathroom. Also, I believe it's noted in the listing but there is no wifi here.

This place was a gem. It was conveniently located near lake Bob Sandlin and Monticello. We love fishing so this was a perfect location. The house was perfectly situated next to a public ramp and had stupendous views. Would be great for a family or a rustic, romantic getaway. It was very quiet. The amenities were good, but there is no microwave ( if you need one ). The downstairs shower was fine for me, but my husband found it a tight fit. To be fair, he is 6'3. The bathtub upstairs was fabulous after spending hours outdoors. Jeff was friendly and communicative. If you want a fancy hotel with bells and whistles, this is not for you. If you want quant, comfortable, private, cozy and country... this is THE place. We loved it and will return in the near future.

I love Jefferson, and was so excited to be able to stay in the historical district downtown. This building has been beautifully renovated, but still has tons of charm and character. The host and all of the employees are the epitome of southern hospitality! I didn't want to leave.

My mom and I had a wonderful stay! We stayed in Room 3 and it was so nicely decorated and very comfortable. It's convenient to everything too. We did some walking and shopping and then went back to the room just to hang out and rest a while. It stormed in the evening so we just went across the street to Lamaches for dinner (also ate at Auntie Skinners which is great)We slept wonderfully, none of the ghosts bothered us! ; ) the shower was amazing! In the morning we went down and had breakfast at Java Dave's. Highly recommend the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. We can't wait to come back! Next time we'll go on the walking Ghost Tour! Oh one more thing...I accidentally sent a message through the Air B & B app that we were having trouble (we weren't) and the host was very quick to send an email and text message to check on us.

Room was central Jefferson in hub of town. Walking distance to eating places, many antique shops. No ghostly experiences to brag about. Would book again!

Jordan and his family are awesome, attentive hosts. They were close but did not intrude. Quick to respond and help with anything we needed or advice. Highly recommended visiting their ranch across the road, it is absolutely beautiful and they are wonderful people . The home is in a beautiful setting, rolling, green hills in the pines. They manage this rustic cabin for some friends. We were the first "tenants" since listing on Airbnb, so we gave a few suggestions that were gladly received. We will definitely consider going back to the area based on our stay!

Our stay at Pelican Cottage was our first Airbnb experience and we're so glad it was! Everything was just as represented and Heidi was a very gracious hostess. We loved the privacy of the cottage and the peaceful setting. We were traveling home after visiting family and it was great to relax on the back deck. We had breakfast there the next morning and promised ourselves to come back when we can stay longer. Heidi offered use of the canoe, jon boat & hot tub and we hope to do so when we return. The cottage had everything we needed and was very clean & attractive. The bed was comfortable and the huge claw foot tub in the bathroom was great. The property is located in a nice area. We followed Heidi's suggestions about restaurants in the area and had a great meal when we left out the next day. We are looking forward to our next stay at Pelican Cottage!

This nice little cottage is located just outside of town on a nice piece of property with a view that will not disappoint. We were on our way through the area from a long road trip and needed to get a good nights sleep and have a relaxing peaceful morning before hitting the road again. This place was just the ticket for that! Heidi was very responsive and welcoming as we contacted her late into the evening and checked in at 10pm. The cottage is very well equipped, he comfortable beds and is spotless. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice get away. It was a bit chilly the next morning, otherwise we would have taken advantage of the kayaks and canoes that were available. Thank you again Heidi for this awesome experience.

Loved our stay in your cozy little cabin. We came in the night during a storm, and we were very thankful for the snacks and Netflix! The view in the morning from the parch was breathtaking! We went canoeing and bird watching right from the house. The cabin was tidy, clean and very comfortable! We highly recommend and want to come back!

This was a fantastic, peaceful getaway and the Cottage was everything as described...and more! Pristine shape and quality workmanship was done on the entire cottage. Our host was beyond accommodating and cordial...left us a basket of goodies....and even directed us to a great place for reasonably priced steaks that were AMAZINGLY delicious! Host even offered us use of their kayaks and fishing poles, but we didn't have time to take advantage of that opportunity! Amazingly peaceful and serene setting. Easy to access with GPS. Can't wait to go back again!!

Julie meet us at the cabin timely just as we predetermined and made sure that we had the key to her lovely and well stocked lake side cabin. She was friendly and extremely accommodating to all of our needs and requests. We had plenty: clean towels, sheets, pillows and pillowcases, blankets, dishes, coffee pot, storage, seating, tables, and washer and dryer. A/C was fantastic including the exterior bathroom. Ideal for the outdoorsman and his family. Secluded peaceful and restful.

Excellent getaway cabin right on the lake! Cabin was clean with a traditional decor. Close to Jefferson but far enough to feel remote and relaxing. Homes nearby are very nice as well. Cabin is also very close (100 feet?) to a boat ramp. Great kitchen, large tv, and nice, spotless bathroom. This is exactly what a lake cabin should be. We loved it. Julie (host) was very nice and also prompt in responses. Highly recommend.

Holly was a great host her home is simple with no frills with some great history. The lake and surrounding area beautiful and peaceful.

What caused me to choose to stay at Holly's was of course the beauty of her place but also all the great reviews, which were of course spot on. Holly is a wonderful host and of the places I have stayed at in the past, hers was the most comfortable and relaxing. I took way more peaceful naps than i intended to do while at her place, but I could not help it due to the relaxed way that I felt. I sure needed the time hat I got at her place and really came back from my stay with some live altering perceptions. Thank you soo much Holly for joining the group of people who open up their homes to strangers. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND anyone to stop by and get to know her.

Holly was great. We were a little late on our expected arrival time. Holly called to make sure we were okay and not lost. Her home is clean, cozy, peaceful and quite. She provided towels, snacks, water and even made us breakfast in the morning. It was a perfect place to rest and rejuvenate after a long drive.

Nice place quiet and secluded

Holly is the most incredible AirB&B host we have ever had! Her home and surrounding land/lake are truly magical. We were greeted and given a tour of her property which made us appreciate the natural beauty of the area. Her loving personality and kindness made us feel truly at ease. Our room was comfortable and relaxing. Our stay made us feel like kids away at summer camp. We feel like we made a friend! And her pets Rindy and Squeak are literally the cutest, cuddliest pets ever!

Holly was very hospitable and a clear communicator. Her property is beautiful.

Holly and her son were very welcoming. I stayed there two days and had a very relaxing in the warm family environment next to the lake. Holly is very thoughtful and has set everything up for her guests rest and relaxation in the quiet room with private bath.

Heather is THE best hostess of all time. The house is extremely charming and very tastefully decorated. She has every amenity you could ask for. Only a few block off the main area of entertainment and shopping, Heather's Airbnb is a must stop for any travelers who love old world, small town charm!

This is a great place to stay if you're visiting Jefferson or surrounding areas like Caddo Lake.

From the minute we stepped on the front porch we felt welcome! Heather had a welcome sign with our name on it to greet us, and several personalized treats for our family inside. Our trip was in October, so the cute little cottage was decked out in Fall decor. It was clean and beautiful! We loved every minute of our stay there.

What a cute cottage! So many personal touches like a personalized welcome sign and welcome gift. Beautifully decorated for Easter throughout the house. Lovely remodel with hommage to shabby chic antiques is pulled of beautifully. Great location, walkable to all of the historic Jefferson attractions, with a grocery store and pizza restaurant right across the street. Great stay!
