Restaurante
“This has the feel of a NY steakhouse – big-boy steaks with no-nonsense chips. It also has a theatrical bent, so while the deliberately minimalist menu will leave you wondering how the nettle is utilised in their East Yorkshire rabbit terrine, Scotch quail egg, pickled baby vegetables, tarragon mayonnaise & nettle, the waiting staff will deliver the answer with a practised flourish.”

Bar
“There are so many restaurants and bars within a 10 minute walk: Cognac, an authentic French restaurant on Chanterlands Avenue. Need to book in advance. Da Gianni on Princes Avenue; highly rated Italian restaurant. There are Moroccan, Indian, Persian, Greek restaurants as well as many bars also serving food on Princes Avenue. Newland Avenue also has a wide choice of places to eat including Larkin’s Bar, Sleepers and Craft and Dough (reduced prices on Tuesday and Thursday). Or if you just fancy Fish and Chips there’s The Friary - a 5 minute walk away. Bring them back, I’ve got plenty of salt and vinegar!”

“Lots of bars, most serve good food. I would particularly recommend Pave for its relaxed atmosphere and varied clientele, and Dukes for its good food, large portions at reasonable prices.”

“Quirky, as shopping centres go. Built in the middle of the old Princes Dock. Decent big name outlet stores up top. And also a cinema up there too somewhere, sometimes showing independent films.”
