“The Portsmouth floodwall has been transformed into a chronological history of the area. Beginning on the East end of the wall with depictions of some of the prehistoric inhabitants and the works they left behind and progressing to the exploration of explorers and the early villages. Many aspects of the community and its history are included and quite accurately portrayed.”

Museum
“The race is known in the United States as "The Most Exciting Two Minutes In Sports" or "The Fastest Two Minutes in Sports" for its approximate duration, and is also called "The Run for the Roses" for the blanket of roses draped over the winner. It is the first leg of the American Triple Crown and is followed by the Preakness Stakes, then the Belmont Stakes. Unlike the Preakness and Belmont Stakes, which took hiatuses in 1891–1893 and 1911–1912, respectively, the Kentucky Derby has been run every consecutive year since 1875. ”

“AKA "the Muster Grounds" is the sight where the troops from the region gathered for the Revolutionary War. Walk here! From my driveway, walk straight across Stone Mill Rd. onto Hurt St. Follow Hurt St. until you see the town houses and on your left will be a path to the meadow and pond behind the historic home. It's an easy 5 minute walk. Great place for a picnic by the pond. There is a also a short walking trail you can take starting at the bridge by the pond. ”
