Lovely bar with patio seating overlooking the entirety of Hanalei Bay, Makana Mountain/Bali Hai...and along the coast toward the end of the road. Natural Feature
“This is by far my favorite Beach on the island, good thing it's a 3 minute drive from our island home. Swim, snorkel, watch the honu (green sea turtles) in the water or sunning themselves on the beach. The honu will be sharing beach space with the highly endangered Hawaiian monk seals that seem to enjoy Poipu Beach frequently. Waves permitting, you can go out and explore the tombolo, a small islet that is occassionally accessible by land bridge. Next door to Poipu is Brenneke's Beach which is used exclusively for boogie boarding.”

“This small Hawaiian chain is quite well stocked with whatever and Aloha. It has a small-town local feel with really friendly people. Employees are easy to find for help and will often walk you to the item. Customer Service Counter is always maned. They have a deli and hot food take-out which is fresh and tasty as well as full line of groceries, produce, personal items, a pharmacy and Red Box. The bathrooms are to the right at the front door. Bakery items are good except the donuts. (go to Safeway for these). ”

Lighthouse
“Kilauea light house is located up north in a very picturesque location. There are hundreds of white tailed birds on ridges surrounding the light house. Tours of the light house are offered but it is based on availability in the sign up sheet. Even if you are not able to get on a tour you will still still enjoy the scenic beauty of the place. There is a 5$ per person entrance fee and the place closes at 4 pm. There is a small gift store and a visitor center with information on the history of the light house. Very neatly maintained grounds. ”
