“This village is far out but SO lovely if you pick a good day. It is incredibly quaint and the most exciting thing they have is a rope museum (surprisingly interesting) which tells you about the pace of life. A wonderful place to potter about, the crystal shop being a favourite of mine which you can pass a lot of time in. It’s also tucked away amongst hills so the drive is lovely and scenic.”

“Hawes National Park Centre is housed in the Dales Countryside Museum where you can learn about life in this area, and on the other side of the car park is the well-known Hawes Ropemakers and in town is the Wensleydale Creamery - home to the famous cheese. National Park Centre staff can guide you on your way to explore the market town of Hawes and the surrounding countryside. You can catch the little white bus at the Museum which can take you to the Widdale Red Squirrel Reserve.”
