Parque
“A great day activity; drive in to the country behind Gisborne. About 30 minute drive. Amazing arboretum with wonderful walks, huge trees, ponds, gardens, gift shop and interactive education center for kids. An elegant cafe in the old homestead! Can sit in the beautiful dining room for excellent tea/coffee served by wonderfully friendly staff.”

Cine
“This Cinema / Restaurant is unique and is absolutely mesmerizing. The staff are hilarious and the service is fantastic. The cuisine is lovely too. A great night out only 2 mins drive or 10 mins walk from The First Light. ”

Bar
“One of Gisborne's iconic spots to have an evening beer or wine. Sometimes hosts food events and great music acts. Decor is old machinery, planes, bikes, heavy metal stuff! Took some guests who arrived from Aussie on a motorbike, as it looked like their kind of place, and they thought they'd arrived in biker's heaven!”

Nature
“Rere rockslide is cool to go to if you have time. It’s 30/40 mins from Gisborne and amazing. Take boogie boards, or one of those inflatable boats from warehouse with a boogie board placed in the bottom to slide down it. If it has been super dry here for a long time it might not be as enjoyable as there will not be enough water going down it from the rivers. It’s free. Take lunch. Also water.”

“The chef cooks amaaaaazing yummy food and great coffee. Also family friendly, can sit outside in the sun with the kids. Although its not just a Cafe destination - PBC is a vibrant shared space with many services like beauty therapy, yoga, local curio shops and at night it transforms into venue for live music or kick back on the bean-bags for a movie (much better than the Oden!).”

Otros lugares al aire libre
“With 660m long this is the longest wharf in the Southern Hemisphere. Locals love the wharf because it's part of Eastland history, and because it's a most excellent place to catch a fish. In recent years the wharf has undergone extensive restoration work, which will help to ensure that locals and travellers can dangle a line for many years to come.”
