Zoo
“Want to spend the day visiting the animals? Well, this is the best place to do just that! Fresno Chaffee Zoo is located in Roeding Park in Fresno and covers 39 acres and houses over 190 species of animals. Its attractions include Stingray Bay, Dino Dig, Valley Farm, Sea Lion Cove, African Adventure, and Ross Laird's Winged Wonders Bird Show. The zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and is a member of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA). This zoo received a local multi-million dollar bond that was passed as a proposition by the citizens of Fresno County several years back. Not only did this proposition keep the Fresno Chaffee Zoo from going bankrupt and possibly disappearing completely, but it provided enough funds for expansive remodeling and major improvements to many of its exhibits. Now the displays are much more dramatic and the animals in captivity have a much larger and more natural habitat to exist. The safari and the sea lion cove happen to be two of the most recent additions to this park that really have transformed it completely. It is something to be proud of that it now exists right in our backyard here in Fresno. Great place to spend the day with family, especially for the kids!”

“If you want to step back to the early 1950's, you will want to visit this charming and very unique area of Fresno. Closest to downtown Fresno, this part of the city still features the original architecture and store fronts that line the main street throughout this neighborhood. It is 12 miles south of our address and will take approximately 20 minutes to drive there from our location. Definitely worth seeing if you want to see one of Fresno's hidden and historic past times. ”

“Woodward Park is only 3 miles west of our property and it happens to be the largest public park within our community. It is adjacent to the San Joaquin River, and was donated to the city of Fresno back in 1968. The CIF and CCCAA Cross Country State Championships are hosted here every November. It is also the home course for the Fresno State Bulldogs men's and women's cross country teams. Woodward Park also plays host to the Woodward Shakespeare Festival ("Shakespeare in the park") and has been performing for over 11 years and over 311 performances to date. This park also features a famous japanese gardens with many peacocks that roam the grounds. Definitely a perfect place to relax and take in the local beauty all around. If you are a runner or love to walk along designated trails, this park offers many miles of walking paths. Also if you enjoy biking, this park also has at least two BMX tracks for various skill levels. ”

“One of our favorite restaurants to dine at for a nice business casual atmosphere. Definitely make reservations in advance as this place seems to book up quickly. If you are unable to secure a reservation or forgot to do so, plan on arriving early for dinner (before 6:00 pm) and you are almost guaranteed to be seated without much of a wait. This restaurant not only has an exquisite menu to select from, but they also have a ton of wine options and full bar to pair with any meal choice.
