“Several times a week, the Grand Ole Opry takes place as a showcase of the best country, bluegrass, and folk bands in the country. The night GP caught it on a visit back to the Ryman, she saw the amazing Emmylou Harris, Carrie Underwood, and Vince Gill, just to give you an idea of the kind of all-star casts the Opry always hosts. The entire show is broadcast live on WSM-AM at 7 p.m. and is the longest-running radio show in history. ”

“ the venue that started it all. It was the Ryman -- “the Mother Church of Country Music” -- that first started attracting names like Hank Williams, Dolly Parton, and George Jones, securing Nashville’s status as the American center of country music. The Ryman remains a country music mecca, but as one of the city’s most dazzling concert-going experiences, has also hosted everyone from the Foo Fighters to Janelle Monae. Even if you don’t make it to a concert, it’s at least worth taking the time for a brief tour. Check their homepage for concerts and dates.”

“We've been to some great venues around the country, and Ryman Auditorium is absolutely one of the most stunning concert halls around. Tours are available, but the real treat is getting to see a live show in the beautiful auditorium that was once a church. Its history is unrivaled and its lineups of shows is unprecedented. If you do see a show here, get there when the doors open for a chance to get an exclusive Hatch Print that's uniquely hand-pressed for each show; they are $20 and available in limited amounts at the upstairs merchandise booth. ”

“This is an upbeat bar with dancing later on in the evenings! They often have themed DJs. It's right next to Dino's, so these two together make a good 1-2 punch combo for a local night out.”

“Fort Nashborough was where it all begun for the city of Nashville. In 1779 this stockade was built to protect the local people from wild animal and Indian attacks. It was built from logs and covered an area of 2 acres. The fort was reconstructed in the 1930’s out of used telegraph poles and tells a fascinating story about the history and origins of this city. One month after the land for the original fort was agreed to be purchased the American Revolution broke out.”
