“The Merlion is an iconic statue with the body of a fish & head of a lion, shooting water from its mouth. Getting there: From Braddell, take train towards Marina Bay and alight at Raffles Place. Exit towards United Overseas Bank Plaza. Mid way of the plaza, you will see Fullerton Hotel. Merlion Park is just behind the Hotel.”

Iglesia
“Singapore’s Church of Our Lady of Lourdes is an impressive neo-Gothic Catholic Church, which is modelled on the Lourdes (France) church with the same name. Inside the Church is a grotto (cave) with statues of Our Lady appearing to Saint Bernadette. Opened in 1888, Church of Our Lady of Lourdes is the first Tamil Catholic church in Singapore. It bears a resemblance to “San Thome Basilica” in Chennai, which was also built around the same time (1893). After visiting this church, I understood the magnificence of Gothic architecture, to allow light into the building as there was no electric lighting then.”
