“We love Frogtown's view off the back porch. They have food available too- from salads to flatbreads and we love their red wine! Not very kid friendly, but a relaxed atmosphere!”

“This is a fun, small winery in a lovely location. It offers tastings and a small menu. A nice gift shop as well.”

“We love Kaya but be warned, they close at 5:30, so we always start there and head elsewhere. Also, forewarning, their gift shop has the cutest home goods and gifts but a little pricey! After a few glasses of vino, you tend to overlook the price tags. Really great atmosphere for a tasting or sit outside with a bottle and listen to live music. Highly recommend and right around the corner!”

“They offer "Piggie" Yoga, Camel Encounters, Sloth Experiences and just a good ol' fashioned petting zoo where the kids feed the goats. Only a two minute drive and a fun little excursion for all! Check their website or call for their weekend specials and adventures!”

“We LOVE this winery- the owner is so sweet and always has plenty of blankets and room around the fire pits to cozy up with a glass of wine. It is also kid friendly with a playground and farm animals to feed. It was recently renovated and has a large covered porch and a lot of times live music!”

“Great griil. It's too far to walk from the Public Square but an easy drive. We always enjoy it. It's simply basic American fare, well done.”

“A native here recently told me that people still find some sizable chunks of gold here. From Wikipedia: The property probably started as a placer mine during the Georgia Gold Rush. Once the placer deposits had been exhausted, an open pit gold mine was established in 1847 and commercial operations continued until the early 1980's. A small stamp mill was also established here. Much of the gold used for the gold leaf dome of the Georgia State Capitol was mined at this mine, which was among the most productive mines in the Georgia Gold Belt. The mine is located just north of the site of the Consolidated Mine, which is itself north of the Calhoun Mine. www.crissongoldmine.com”

“We almost always sit at the bar, order a slice and a beer or a glass of wine and just chill. The pizza is excellent and there is a good "by the slice" selection. Great selection of beer, too, or so I've been told by folks with better palates than I possess.”
