Parque
“One of the best places on Crete. It is 2 hours driving but it worth the trouble. Never stop to swim where the umbrellas and the cantina are. Walk a bit further out to the right and cross the sand dunes. There you will find a lot of quite places to enjoy the coral sand and the sea. The hole area is classed as a wild life park. A must visit place. ”

“The wider area is named Seitan Limania, after the wild landscape, the steep cliffs and the strong sea streams which are considered dangerous. Here are situated three parallel narrow coves, well protected from the waves.”

Cave
“In the village of Melidoni you will find the Melidoni Caves, where there is a number of very impressive stalactites and stalagmites. In 1823 the Ottoman army besieged the caves where approximately 370 inhabitants, mainly women and children, were hiding. Under the orders of Hussein Bay, the entrance was jammed with flammable materials and set on fire. After the Turks left, the bones were collected and placed in an ossuary which now stands in the middle of the central chamber. If you decide to visit the Caves, please wear sturdy shoes, as the ground may be slippery and we suggest you take a torch to enter the chambers.”

“Elafonissi is located 76 kilometers southwest of Chania and five kilometers south of Chrysoskalitissa Monastery, at the southwest end of Crete. Elafonissi looks like an island, because the peninsula at the point that connects with Crete "breaks" and gives the feeling of a separate island. The area has been included in the Natura Protected Areas and is a refuge for the Careta careta turtle. It is strictly forbidden to cut plants from there or to take sand even from the shore! In Elafonissi you will get to the road from Kissamos in about an hour even by bus from KTEL. The road to Elafonissi is narrow and full of turns, but the beauty of the landscape will compensate for you. More choices for accommodation and food can be found in Chryssoskalitissa, located five kilometers north and there you will see the famous Monastery of Panagia Chrysoskalitissa. The beach stretches over long stretches, mainly east of the lagoon. It is organized, it has everything (and special parking space) and especially during the summer months is flooded by people. The shallow lagoon is ideal for young but also for the grown-ups who are willing to play with sand and water! At some points the color of the sand is not white but pink, which is created by the millions of broken shells you will see there. The shores of Elafonisi are more remote and if you want to be a bit more isolated, walk until you find the cove that suits you. The tour of the island is easy to walk.”

“Myli Gorge can be found a few kilometres from Rethymno, along the Amari Road. The gorge has some beautiful ruins of old houses and water mills that once formed the village. Huge mulberry, cypress and nut trees grow wild along the gorge’s edge. At the top of the gorge there is a small taverna where you can sit and sample some Cretan dishes whilst enjoying the view. There are also a several small ponds and a picnic area.”

Sitio histórico
“A fortress, a disease, an island: the Spinalonga. At the entrance of Elounda Bay you will see its impregnable fortress, which in the depths of the centuries have tried many to conquer: Venetians, Ottomans, refugees, rebels. Years later, he was conquered by a disease ... Here, from 1905 to 1957, the lepers of the whole of Greece were housed. A story inspired by Victoria's award-winning historic novel, "The Island". Today, you can still feel the mystery and the history of the rocky island in the atmosphere if you visit it with a boat or even swim.”
