A unique house, build with solid Aberdeen granite with 18 douglas fir trusses and self built by the owner and completed in 2013..the house sleeps up to 12 comfortably.. The house has every home comfort with a spacious family sitting area, kitchen and dining area. each room is different and furnished in a modern rustic style.
We have parking for 5 cars and additional parking at the entrance. The house is ideally situated for guests attending weddings in the area around Banchory and Aboyne. We also cater to wedding parties and family gatherings..
You will need a car to get around.. ideal place as base to discover the northern area of Scotland.. many castles and distilleries close by. Plenty to see and do as far as outdoor activities are concerned. two ski resorts within 45 minute drive.

A spacious and bright flat in part of a traditional farm courtyard. Located on a working organic farm the Hayloft provides generous and comfortable accommodation for two in twin or double bed (sofa bed also available).
Stairs lead to a large combined living and, well equipped, kitchen area and bathroom with shower. The property has local hardwood flooring and features other locally sourced details such as paintings from local artists and blankets made out of the wool from Wark Farm sheep. The flat has attractive views over the farm and surrounding countryside. There is ample parking at the door of the property. (Note: the farm is normally centrally heated via the farms bio-fuel but the system needs repairs so heating is currently via electric heaters which heat up the place nicely as well) Enjoy the tranquility and take an easy walk on the farm, which is home to a number of traditional breeds of Scottish farm animals, such as our beautiful Belted Galloway cows and Hebridean sheep. Guests staying at the farm are able to buy Wark Farm products during their stay, should they wish to do so, including eggs and a range of fresh and cured meats such as steaks, bacon, lamb noisettes... Availability will vary, so best is to check on arrival. Wark Farm is a Royal Warrant holder and supplies the Prince of Wales with meat, testifying of its high quality. We also offer our well known delicious pies (frozen, to be baked in the oven), which depending on availability can be beef&onion, beef&cheese, lamb&prune or our vegan nutty carrot pie. Please note that the flat is self catering and being an active farm, the hosts will not always be available in person, but they can be reached via messages. There is WiFi on the farm, but occasionally the connection may be less optimal. Please note that when driving to the farm, you need to follow the sign for Wark Farm.

  • Si está buscando una estadía cómoda en una granja escocesa real y de trabajo, ¡no busque más! El pajar en la granja Wark puede haber sido un pajar antiguo, pero ahora es un piso espacioso con cocina, baño, sofá cama y dormitorio. La decoración simple, acorde con una granja, sirve para mejorar la estancia. La cocina tiene una pequeña nevera, estufa y refrigerador, así que traiga su propia comida para autoservicio, ya que se encuentra en un verdadero entorno rural aquí, sin supermercados ni restaurantes cercanos. Disfrutamos nuestra estancia en el piso; pero, lo mejor de todo, los collies fronterizos de Laurel, Jess y Ben, fueron muy divertidos: caminaron con nosotros cada vez que estábamos afuera y nos brindaron una escolta fiel para visitar el increíble rebaño de ovejas de la granja. Nunca olvidaré la experiencia, ni la amabilidad de todos aquellos que trabajan en la granja. La granja, en sí misma, es hermosa, y la tranquilidad que resulta de estar rodeada por 200 acres de pastos verdes para ganado, ovejas y gansos no puede describirse adecuadamente. Es muy triste dejar atrás a los collies, que todavía querían jugar, pero, ¡gracias por los hermosos recuerdos, Laurel!

  • El apartamento es encantador: la granja de Laurel está rodeada de campos y colinas y todos los días se siente como un pequeño pedazo de cielo allí.     Self check-in is available if required. Self contained annex with spacious, south facing bedroom with access out to the garden which guests can use. We are 2 minutes walk from the river and can direct you to nearby hills and lochs where scenic walks can be enjoyed. There is a cosy, friendly pub just round the corner which serves lovely home cooked meals all day. They welcome "muddy boots, kids and dogs". We are dog friendly too so please feel free to bring your well behaved dog along.
    Bedroom has an en-suite shower room and sauna (available for an extra charge). Bedroom is accessed up 5 wooden steps. The kitchenette has a kettle, toaster, fridge, microwave and basic washing up facility (please note, there is no cooker). It also has a small table and chairs. It is a ten minutes walk into town where you can find a cash point, Co-op supermarket some cafes, shops, chip shop and Indian restaurant.
    We are situated on a quiet street but are set back so have very little traffic noise. The back garden overlooks fields and hills and, if we are lucky, has the occasional red squirrel hopping through. We have access to some beautiful walks with Glen Tanar and Loch Kinnord just a short drive away. We will be happy to point you in the direction of our favourite places and have Ordnance Survey maps for guests to borrow.

  • Tuvimos una gran estancia en el Anexo de Kayleigh por 3 noches durante las vacaciones de Pascua. Todo sobre el alojamiento fue como se describe: limpio, cálido, cómodo, seguro y ¡tuvimos uso de la sauna! Había espacio para estacionar el auto y un hermoso jardín trasero. Tuvimos una comida maravillosa en el restaurante y pub Boat Inn, que está a solo un par de minutos a pie por la carretera. Las tiendas están a poca distancia. Kayleigh es un muy buen anfitrión, acogedor, atento, hablador y tiene un montón de conocimiento local. ¡También fue un placer conocer a Holly the Labradoodle! Hay mucho que ver y hacer en Aboyne y las áreas circundantes. El Anexo es altamente recomendado. ¡Esperamos quedarnos allí de nuevo en el futuro! ¡Gracias!

    Stunning countryside location. Beautiful old granite school house with an exceptional view of the landscape and mountains. With lots to discover and plenty of clean fresh air in the highlands which is on the outskirts of the Cairngorms National Park, peace and tranquility await you here upon your return at the end of each exciting day. Nice living space, well equipped kitchen area and bathroom with a bath and shower. The property features tiled flooring in the kitchen with underfloor heating and carpets in the rest of the house apart from the bathroom. The property is centrally heated by our wood burning stove. There is a big space for parking at the side of the property and many places to go on walks or bike rides. If your stay is in term time, depending on how many guests are living here, myself and my son will be staying up in our converted loft space and would share the living spaces.
    Set in the beautiful countryside 2 miles from the small village of Tarland, 3 miles from Aboyne which is the nearest town and approximately 30 miles from the city of Aberdeen. Aberdeen city, Westhill and Banchory are all commuting distance which lead to some of the North Easts finest tourist destinations. We live in the countryside and there are fantastic walks from our back door including the Aboyne to Tarland cycle/walk way which is ideal for walkers, runners, horse riders and cyclists and there are many places for golfing enthusiasts. We are also very near to many mountains including Morven, Press and Dye, Lochnagar and Clachnaben. We are very close to many natural trails such a lochs, rivers, streams, waterfalls, mountain bike trails. The main reasons most people come here are the peace & quiet, stunning views and wildlife. We do have neighbours who live in the converted School and are extremely friendly and kind and can help you if I am not available if issues arise.

    Close to great views and hikes, quiet and peaceful, this self-contained mini chalet is great for solo or couple adventurers, and those seeking a peaceful retreat. Glamping at its best, its not for the 5-star brigade. Clean + cosy with its own kitchen and bathroom – accessible from outside, adding to a feeling of being in the wild, yet retaining modern comforts you’re sure to enjoy your stay in this one-of-a-kind home. Rentals of one month or more from £495-£895 pcm!
    Den of Allachlade (or Den of Marmalade as we like to call it - long story) has been "mine" (Vicki) since 1993 when I was pregnant with my daughter, Jessica. It has morphed through several stages, survived divorce, accommodated therapy, workshops, all sorts of weird and wonderful events and has seen the transformation of many beautiful folk. It really has a special vibe to it, a Scottish twist on a Laurel Canyon type commune! It somehow manages to be family home, therapy center and base for travelers, professional nomads, volunteers, holidaymakers, spiritual seekers... all in one go. Regular guests are my daughter Jessica when she is home from Glasgow, Kacper, provider of scrumptious food, blogger and intrepid digi nomad. Last but not least Felix the cat. And… my fingers are crossed as I write this, a Mummy deer took rest at the bottom of the garden when giving birth in the summer of 2018 and she and the baby are still regular visitors, it is quite lovely to see them so close. As for me, I am an author - 2nd book coming up! Hypnotherapist, NLP-er, etc, etc. I am an active meditator and Sanyasin. I work mostly from home and as little as possible in Aberdeen :) If you would like to join our motley crew, we take paying guests, part paying guests (house-sitters), karmic yogis and woofers, just get in touch! We do our best to make your stay special without getting in your face - tell us what you need. In the Fairy Penthouse you benefit from being totally detached from the main house and having your own access to the bedroom via the garden. The room has a super comfy double cabin bed and TV. In the nice weather you can lie in bed looking on to the garden and eat dinner on your own wee balcony The shower room and kitchen are downstairs accessed via outside from the drive of the main house. Kitchen has a mini fridge, microwave, 4 plate hob, George Foreman Grill, washing machine (shared with the main house), kettle and toaster. Let me know if you want a table and chairs for outside.
    There are river walks a stones throw from the property, and plenty of longer woodland and hill walks and stone circles to see in the area. For the sporty, golf courses abound, and water skiing is about a 5 minute drive away. Alternatively pop along to the new outdoor swimming pool at Stonehaven, a beautiful harbour town along the East coast not far from Dunnotar Castle. In August and September there are several highland games taking place in the area.

  • Glamping en una parte apartada encantadora de Aboyne, pacífica y tranquila con todas las comodidades básicas que necesita. Excelente relación calidad-precio, acogedor y cálido y no muy lejos de un gran pub!     Set in the heart of the tranquil village of Aboyne a fully renovated, pink granite built , well lit flat on two levels looks over Aboyne Green . There are castles and whisky trails in abundance within the immediate area.     The space offers a quiet, clean and comfortable stay with perfect access to local walks through Glens and forests , bike rides, the river Dee, the Coo Cathederal and all the local amenities. Please help yourself to continental breakfast downstairs in the kitchen dining area. Please advise of any food intolerance or allergies and I can make provision for this. There are two single rooms available to book also . There is a SHARED upstairs bathroom and downstairs toilet. Note : the shower is in the midst of renovation ! At the moment there is a shower cubicle which is quite confined! If you are broad or very tall and prefer showering then this is not the place for you! There is alternatively, a luxurious long bath ,and reasonably broad , for you to enjoy! Potentially there could be 4 people staying over night , including me in the flat, so 4 of us in total. You will be given your own key so you can come and go at your own leisure. There is space for one bike to be stored inside and two in an outside shed. There is a sun filled potted garden to eat your breakfast in if you would like ! I ! Please note that in order to protect the sound space of my other guests this room is not suitable for children.Also in order to protect the sleep of other guests I ask heavy snorers not to request bookings!
    The neighbourhood is quiet with many historical buildings forming the housing structure . The village is built around the Green with a square central to the shopping area that used to be a station for the railway line from Aberdeen to Ballater.

In the East Annex you benefit from your personal porch with a small table and chairs which opens into a lovely seating area, which leads into the well-equipped kitchen. There's a lovely sunroom with a window-seat, strewn with comfy cushions and the double bedroom has en-suite shower inside on open plan. The window-seat area can work as a make-up single bedroom, and we can also put up a fold-down bed in the porch seating area or you can use the red chaise lounge, however, we have no window covering there, so a no-no for anyone who needs blackout! Please be aware that the main house will be rented out over Winter to guests also, so please be aware of noise levels so as not to disturb other guests.
    Aboyne is a quiet village. Enough so that in the morning it's quite common to see grazing deer in the fields or even in our garden. Have a look at the guide to see the local points of interest (there's way more than in here). It's a great place to come and relax, far away from the hustle and bustle of cities. Aboyne (Scots: Abyne, Scottish Gaelic: Abèidh) is a village on the edge of the Highlands in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, on the River Dee, approximately 26 miles (42 km) west of Aberdeen. Aboyne has become popular with gliding enthusiasts from Britain and Europe due to its suitable air currents (due to the surrounding terrain). The airfield has two parallel tarmac runways running east-west, a webcam and small weather-monitoring centre on its premises.

    Situated in the heart of Royal Deeside, in the village of Aboyne, a detached Victorian House overlooking the Aboyne Green. The house is within walking distance to many amenities including, restaurants, pubs, supermarket, boutique shops, river and woodland walks. There is ample off-street and on-street parking available. Outside of the village is the Cairngorm National Park, Whisky distilleries, Art galleries, Balmoral Estate, Aberdeen City and much more
    A spacious and bright double room with a wardrobe, chest of drawers and television. There is a large shared shower room with WC and basin. The room is situated on the first floor as well as the bathroom. Access will be through the front door of the house, a key will be ready for you on arrival. Four small dogs live at the property. They are extremely friendly. Although every effort is made to keep to property in top condition allergy sufferers should be aware. Property is occupied by three friendly people (Brother and two Sisters) on a permanent basis. Parking off-street can be discussed upon arrival.
    Aboyne has many thriving small businesses. The village boasts a renowned family-run delicatessen 'Strachans of Royal Deeside', a coffee shop listed in many Scottish coffee guide books, 'Spider on the Bicycle'. Also, a riverside pub/restaurant called 'The Boat Inn'. A post office, gift shop with an adjoining cafe, 'The Corner House', Pet shop, Pharmacy, Flower Shop, Cafe/Eataree, 'At The Sign Of The Blackface Sheep', 2 ATM/Cash machines, 'Dinnie's Fish & Chip Shop". A children's park is close by as the property is centrally located you will find that everything is easily accessible during your stay.

There are castles and whisky trails in abundance within the immediate area. Easy access to walks and bike trails.Festivals and Highland Games every other week in the summer.
    This is a spacious, bright room with fitted wardrobe and a full length mirror and wardrobes. The bed , according to my guests , is very comfortable and big! The situation of the house offers perfect access to local walks through glens and forests , bike rides, the river Dee, the Coo Cathederal and all the local amenities. Please help yourself to continental breakfast downstairs in the kitchen dining area. Please advise of any food intolerance or allergies and I can make provision for this. There is a single room and another double room . Potentially there could be 5 people staying over night , including me in the flat, so 6 of us in total! There is a SHARED upstairs bathroom and downstairs toilet. Note : the shower is in the midst of renovation ! At the moment there is a shower cubicle which is quite confined! If you are broad or very tall and prefer showering then this is not the place for you! There is alternatively, a luxurious long bath ,and reasonably broad , for you to enjoy! You will be given your own key so you can come and go at your own leisure. There is space for one bike to be stored inside and two in an outside shed. There is a sun filled potted garden to eat your breakfast in if you would like ! ! Please note that in order to protect the sound space of my other guests this room is not suitable for children. Also in order to protect the sleep of other guests I ask heavy snorers not to request bookings!
    The neighbourhood is quiet with many historical buildings forming the housing structure . The village is built around the Green with a square central to the shopping area that used to be a station for the railway line from Aberdeen to Ballater.

We relocated to Aberdeenshire 10 years ago in pursuit of a quiet life in the countryside and we are delighted to share our peaceful haven. Guests are very welcome to make use of our outdoor FIRE PIT for toasting marshmallows (see photos) as well as our BBQ and garden furniture for outdoor dining. Please specify when booking if either are of interest, so that we can ensure they are prepared for use. Please note there is a BBQ fee of £5 per use for charcoal and cleaning, payable on arrival. Our primary aim is your comfort and enjoyment. Not only do we offer the luxury of a king size superior sprung mattress with Egyptian cotton linen and towels, we also pride ourselves on cleanliness, being frequent AirBNB users ourselves. We also like to keep things simple - no pricing gimmicks or tricks - our nightly price remains the same throughout the year regardless of school holiday dates or season! Note there is NO KITCHEN, but tea/coffee making facilities are available and there is a fridge in the summer house should guests wish to store beverages or meat for the BBQ.     We live in a peaceful, rural neighbourhood surrounded by farmland and cattle. Our neighbours include cows, sheep, red squirrels, pheasant and deer! There are plentiful walking and cycling routes on our doorstep including the Deeside Way, which follows the beautiful River Dee from Aberdeen to Ballater. We are also just 45 minutes from beaches, ski slopes, the Cairngorm National Park, Lochnagar Distillery & Balmoral Castle among many other visitor attractions. There’s a shop in our local village of Lumphanan just over a mile away. 1.5 miles in the opposite direction is the Deeside Activity Park where you can have a go at quad biking, archery, fishing and go-karting. There are also several walks you can take from it, including the stunning Falls of Dess. We are 5 minutes from Torphins, 10 minutes from Aboyne and 15 minutes from Banchory all of which have supermarkets, cafés and pubs. In Tarland, just 10 miles away, there is an indoor spa with swimming pool and gymnasium. It costs £10 for a day pass.     Our beautiful property was built in the 19th Century and is situated in an acre of mature garden. It has recently been refurbished to a high standard and with its open fires creates a welcoming atmosphere. Located in Royal Deeside and within the Cairngorm National Park it is a great place to explore everything the park has to offer. Woods and Lochs are minutes away with breathtaking views and wildlife a plenty. Expect to see red squirrels and woodpeckers in the large secluded garden.
    The house has two living rooms, one with a wood burning stove and the other with an open fire. The games room hosts a small snooker table and shelves full of local interest books. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking utensils and crockery with a large fridge, freezer, microwave and washing machine.
    Royal Deeside has something for everyone from hiking, biking, skiing, fishing, and horseriding to whisky trails, castles and Highland hospitality. There are several gold courses in the area and even an opportunity to try gliding at the local Gliding Club.

    2 bedroom modern flat in the centre of Aboyne within minutes walking distance to all shops, bars and restaurants in the area. Ideally situated for exploring Royal Deeside or enjoying a round of golf at the courses nearby. There is also fly fishing and the gliding school a short drive away. Many of our guests have been attending weddings at venues close by.
    The apartment is bright, airy and spacious with a good sized lounge and a separate dining kitchen. This is well equipped with fridge, cooker, washing machine, microwave, toaster, kettle, toasted sandwich maker and nespresso coffee machine. There is an iron, ironing board and clothes airer. The main bedroom has an en suite bathroom and there is also a separate toilet/ shower room next to the second bedroom.
    The apartment is in an excellent location. It is directly opposite the main supermarket and local stores, tea rooms, hotel, bars and restaurants and chip shop are only a few minutes walk.

    Our property lies in the small picturesque village of Dinnet, Royal Deeside. Situated in the Cairngorm national park, it is a great base to explore everything the park has to offer. A mere 5-minute walk to the first of 3 stunning lochs with breathtaking views and wildlife. Great for the fisherman with the River Dee just a stone’s throw away. Centrally located for both ski centers and on the main bus route from Aberdeen to Breamar, it makes it the ideal choice for people who like the outdoor life
    Our property has 2 bedrooms. The first, has an oak king-size bed with bedside cabinets, a double sized oak drawer unit and a wall mounted smart TV above. It also has a walk-in wardrobe with ample storage space and a built in safe for your valuables. The second bedroom has a king-size bed which can be changed to 2 singles if required. It also has a double chest of drawers and a hanging rail for storage. The bathroom has a large shower cubicle with an overhead shower and hand shower for your convenience. There is no bath in the property. The lounge is a well-equipped living area with sofa and coffee table. There is a wood burning stove for you to enjoy whilst you watch the 3D tv with over 100 channels. There’s a staircase from the lounge leading to the 2 bedrooms and bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped with a gas hob and oven, microwave, dish washer, fridge and freezer. We have included all the utensils and crockery that you would need for your stay. There is a large cupboard housing a washing machine, iron and ironing board. To the front of the property there are 4 chairs and a table for you to enjoy the morning sun. To the rear of the property there’s a patio with 4 chairs and a table along with a BBQ for you to enjoy. There’s also a parking space for 1 car in the rear garden.
    Muir of Dinnet is one of the nine National Nature Reserves (NNRs) in and around the Cairngorms National Park where you will see many bird species. Walking from the cottage towards the small children’s play park, you will find the start of many walkways which takes you around loch Kinord and Loch Davan, first passing the smaller loch with a decking view point looking out over the water. You can walk or drive to the Burn O Vat with is stunning waterfalls and home to many wildlife which is at the far side of Loch Kinord and has some great sights to be seen. On your way home, you can stop in past the Loch Kinord Hotel to sample some of their impressive collections of Scottish whiskies or enjoy a meal in their restaurant. Just across the main road you will find the Deeside Way which was once the railway line that transported the Royal family to their holiday retreat, Balmoral Castle. The Deeside Way is a great path for cyclists and walkers alike that takes you to the neighboring villages and beyond. The River Dee passes through Dinnet and is well known for its great Salmon fishing which attracts anglers from all over. There is also a stocked Trout fishing area at Tullich, about 2 miles away. For the high flyers, we have the Deeside Gliding Club between Dinnet and Aboyne which can be pre-booked before your arrival. There is a bus service from Dinnet, taking you west to the picturesque village of Ballater where you will find an array of shops adorning the Royal warrants which are a guarantee of the quality of goods and service provided to the Royal household. You will also find some great bars and restaurants to dine in. To the east you can travel to Aboyne where you will find a Co-op supermarket and some small shops and is well known for its Highland Games. We are ideally situated between the Lecht and Glenshee ski centers for the more adventurist guests.

In the Garden Studio you benefit from being the most southerly facing room giving you a feeling of total detachment with only the hills to look back at you. You have your own access via the garden. The room has a super comfy double cabin bed and TV. In the nice weather you can lie in bed looking out and eat dinner on your own area of decking. The wet room is very small but sufficient as a basic shower and toilet and kitchenette just manages to squeeze everything in that you need to cook a proper meal.
    Aboyne (Scots: Abyne, Scottish Gaelic: Abèidh) is a village on the edge of the Highlands in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, on the River Dee, approximately 26 miles (42 km) west of Aberdeen. It has a swimming pool at Aboyne Academy, all-weather tennis courts, a bowling green and is home to the oldest 18 hole Golf course on Royal Deeside. Aboyne Castle and the Loch of Aboyne are nearby. Outdoor pursuits include golf, walking, cycling, and gliding from the airfield just outside the village. Aboyne has become popular with gliding enthusiasts from Britain and Europe due to its suitable air currents (due to the surrounding terrain). The airfield has two parallel tarmac runways running east-west, a webcam and small weather-monitoring centre on its premises.

    ~ Kitchen & Dining The Coo Hoose has an open plan kitchen so you can chat and enjoy company or watch children play. A well equipped kitchen with everything you will need to provide some delicious food for your guests. A large Oak table with funky Panton Chairs, seats 8. There are some complimentary condiments and tea, coffee and sugar for a cup of something on arrival. ~ Sleep The Coo Hoose has two bedrooms, a twin and a king. The comfortable king size bed provides you with the best night sleep and if you are an early riser roe deer can be seen in the morning and at dusk, especially during the colder months. Food is provided to feed and encourage these shy, beautiful animals. White company bedding, Faux fur throws and wool blankets make sure you are extra cosy. All bed linen is from the White Company with Timerous Beasties cushions in the twin room which adds a woodland twist. A bathroom is equipped with an enormous shower and for those who like to have a long soak in a bath there is an old style bath tub in the master bedroom. Extra camp beds can be provided to accommadate little people. ~ Relax A large leather sofa and two leather tub chairs in front of the wood burner make a wonderful place to enjoy a book, paper or watch a film. So comfortable with faux fur rugs for extra coziness. Borrow a book from the small library or plan your next outing with maps and guides to help. Small selection of board games helps a rainy day.

    Large double/twin ensuite room in imposing Victorian Tower House set in 2.5 acres in the centre of the small village of Tarland, on the edge of Cairngorm National Park. Beautiful walks from the house, and easy access to all the delights of Royal Deeside - castles, distilleries, Balmoral, walking, cycling and mountain biking.
    Balmuir is a traditional granite house with Tower House extension. Your large double or twin bedroom overlooks the walled garden as does the ensuite shower room. Breakfast is served in the conservatory which opens onto your private patio and you have use of a large comfortable sitting room with wood-burning stove, should the weather turn cold. There is ample parking in the driveway, storage for bikes/skis in outdoor locked sheds, and outside tap with hose for washing equipment. Tarland has a village shop, a chemist, post office/toy shop and 2 pubs, one of which serves food, all within a few minutes walk from the house. The Aberdeen Arms pub is well known for it's traditional music sessions every Tuesday evening.
    Tarland is set in the Howe of Cromar, a ring of hills on the edge of the Cairngorm National Park. There are numerous walks from the house that take advantage of the beautiful views in the area. There are mountain bike trails in the woods nearby and Tarland golf club is right over the hedge from Balmuir. It is a Tom Morris designed 9 hole course and has very reasonable green fees and very good availability. Further afield, there are castles, distilleries, gardens, and more challenging walking/hiking/climbing routes available in abundance. The Commercial Hotel serves very good pub meals, and the Aberdeen Arms, is well known for its traditional music sessions every Tuesday evening.

An hours journey north from us can incorporate many famous distilleries around the Spey Valley. I offer a varied buffet style continental breakfast. Traditional Porridge, made with stone-ground oatmeal served with fresh berries/local honey or your choice of extras. I am happy to cook a full Scottish breakfast for an additional cost of £10 per person. Food is locally sourced.... including the same sausages/black pudding as served to the queen! A cooked breakfast needs to be booked in advance. Location: - walking distance to theatre, swimming pool, park/ village green/coffee shops/ river and local pub. - Many local maps available for walkers to peruse. - Adjacent to the Deeside Way which gives off road cycling to Ballater where there are further restaurants and shopping. - Aboyne has a music and arts festival in July and an outdoor activity festival called 'Active Aboyne' in September. EVENTS; Many local Highlands Games occur in the summer months. Aboyne Highland Games is always on the first Saturday in August. In July Aboyne is the centre of a cultural festival which includes keynote authors and speakers, as well as art and drama events. Many local houses host events such as intimate classical/Jazz music evenings. 'Active Aboyne' (September) runs each year and includes many activities for the fit and not so fit. Love art? Then come and stay in September. Come and see the many open studios and exhibitions during NEOS (North East Open Studios) It is the largest art event of its kind in Scotland. Many of the studios are only open to the public during this event.
    The surrounding area is a highland paradise on the edge of the Cairngorms. Ballater is a lovely Victorian village just a few miles away. You can cycle there with a borrowed bike ( no charge) and enjoy the local shops and restaurants.

  • Nos alojamos tres noches en Mo y Ian. Nuestra habitación era muy amplia, al igual que el baño. La casa está situada en una bonita y tranquila zona residencial. Había un excelente desayuno cada mañana y un pub muy bueno está a 15-20 minutos a pie. Desde aquí puede llegar fácilmente al Sendero del Castillo y explorar el Este. Aboyne es una zona preciosa, una gran ciudad para explorar la zona de Royal Deeside. Estuvimos allí para los Highland Games, ¡muy recomendable! La casa de Mo está ubicada en el centro y es muy cómoda, con excelentes camas y baños. Mo nos hizo un delicioso desayuno cada día y nos dio consejos locales.
