Our 17th Century self catering cottage is tucked away on the historic farm of Cefndeuddwr, in the heart of the stunning Coed y Brenin Forest Park. High on the ridge between two river valleys, the cottage has panoramic mountain views and blends modern comforts with historical charm. It provides a great location for exploring the Snowdonia National Park and is an ideal base for outdoor activities, family holidays or a quiet escape.
Cefndeuddwr is a 30 acre smallholding that we share with our hens, ducks, sheep and cows. A two minute walk from the cottage takes you into the beautiful scenery of the forest park with its extensive trails for walking, mountain biking or running. Next to the cottage there is a secure storage shed for bikes and a drying space for your outdoor gear. A ten minute drive takes you to the historic town of Dolgellau and a further few miles takes you along the Mawddach estuary to the coastal towns of Barmouth or Harlech.
The Snowdonia National Park is an area of outstanding natural beauty with mountains, river valleys, lakes, estuaries and the sea. It is also a land of Welsh culture, language and heritage, ancient history, legend and folklore.

The property is located in the foothills of the Rhinogs, considered to be the wildest mountains in Wales. It is extremely remote, being over two miles across the moor from the main road and the nearest neighbour. The property is at one end of a stone long barn. It forms part of an off-grid small holding comprising 10 acres of natural pasture with a stream. It is surrounded by a coniferous/decidious wood on the trail to a waterfall, the Roman Steps, mountain lakes and many beautiful walks.
The long barn houses open plan accommodation which is spacious, comfortable and child-friendly. The bedroom (with twin beds) is a mezzanine accessed by steps from the ground floor. In the living area there is a kitchen, dining table, wood burner and also double sofa bed. There is plenty of space for muddy boots and drying wet clothes! The property is off-grid and designed to minimise energy use. Hot water is available only in the evening and showers need to be arranged with the owner. Water is piped from a mountain stream. It has been tested and is fine for drinking. The owner lives in the nearby farmhouse. The other end of the long barn is home to some delightful quiet neighbours - two friendly donkeys and a flock of ducks and hens.
The property is located in a remote and beautiful part of Snowdonia National Park. There are no other inhabited properties within 2 miles, though there will be walkers passing by on footpaths. This means it is very quiet and peaceful.

Beautiful log cabin in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. Perfect for walking, climbing, cycling and close to the beautiful Cardigan Bay. Ideal for couples, solo adventurers and families. Porthmadog, Harlech and Barmouth all close by with beautiful beaches, castles and vibrant towns. Cabin is very homely with a well equipped kitchen and great outdoor space. Lots to do if you want to get out and about but if you want to get cosy there are lots of books, DVDs and Board Games for all ages
Guests can use the whole cabin, the verandah and garden area.
If you like walking there are so many walks to be done in the area and a comprehensive set of walking guides for you to use in the cabin. Please return once you have used them. A great starter walk would be The Precipice Walk at Dolgellau. Superb views. For cycling Coed Y Brenin is about 2 miles down the road and has multiple routes and cycle hire. Great for both the younger family members and for the more daredevil amongst the party Beaches are superb on Cardigan Bay and I would recommend Black Rock Sands at Porthmadog..... great drive on beach with lovely walking and views. Borth Y Gest is a beautiful cove with a lovely coastal walk from the harbour. Barmouth is great with kids as it is easy access from the car park and has all the expected facilities for a family day out. Harlech is utterly gorgeous with excellent sand dunes for hide and seek! My personal favourite is Llandanwg (south of Harlech) which has very clean and well looked after toilets and a lovely beach shack cafe run by lovely people. It's good for body boarding (boards are kept in storage under the cabin- feel free to use) If you are into surfing then it is certainly worth a trip to Aberdaron on the Llyn Peninsula - fabulous! Nearest supermarkets are at: Dolgellau - Eurostar Barmouth- Co-op Porthmadog - Tesco, Aldi, Lidl

Definitivamente volveremos.
