“ The first citizens arrived to Castle Hill in the 13th century after the Mongolian invasion, seeking protection in the hills of Buda. The first royal castle was built around this time. The golden age of Castle Hill was in the 15th century, following the marriage of King Matthias Corvinus and Beatrix of Naples in 1476. Many Italian artists and craftsmen accompanied the new queen, and Buda became an important European city. After the Turkish occupation, Buda was in ruins. A Baroque city was built, and Castle Hill soon became the district of government. During World War II, Buda was bombed to the ground and had to be rebuilt again. Today, Castle Hill is recognized as a World Heritage Site, and has many must-see attractions: the Palace, National gallery, Mathias church, old streets (some houses date back to the 14th and 15th centuries) and nice panorama, the famous Ruszwurm patisserie, Buda Castle Labyrinth, Hospital in the Rock etc.”

“Vörösmarty Square is the most elegant pedestrian zone in Budapest. It lies at the northern end of Váci Street (fashion street) and above the western end of the Millennium Underground (Metro line 1). On the north side of the square stands the eclectic Gerbeaud House, home to the world-famous Hungarian confectionery.”

“kvárium Klub, the surrounding , and the adjacent Deák Square together constitute the largest and perhaps best-known meeting point of downtown Budapest. Thousands of youngsters gather here night after night to chill out in the park or on the steps of the club. Akvárium Klub is more than a simple bar: it is a culture center with a wide musical repertoire from mainstream to underground. There is always a good concert and a smashing exhibition, performance, or other event happening here, in a friendly scene, situated right in the city center. Furthermore, Volt-Lokál found inside brings the atmosphere of the best festivals to Budapest week by week.”

“St Stephen’s Basilica of Budapest is one of the most beautiful and significant churches and touristic attractions of the country. This is partly due to its historical heritage, of being dedicated to the holy king St Stephen who was also the founder of the Hungarian state, and partly to the architectural and artistic value of the building itself. ”

“The A38 ship is a local favorite and a concert venue attracting high-profile bands and DJs. From jazz to pop to rock, A38 displays a wide range of genres when it comes to music. They offer the best parties which all take place on a ship giving some of the best views of the Danube. A38 is located on the Buda side of the city and features live music on the deck. The basement floor is a great place for dinner but keep in mind, like most restaurants in Budapest, they don’t offer many vegetarian options.”

“MNG is always up to bring us the best of art (previously: Frida Kahlo, Van Gogh, Qi Baishi, Impressionists, Surrealists etc.). Located in the spectacular Buda Castle, visiting a gallery is a must once you are up there. Fiars, arts'n crafts, food and wine festivals are often located next to the museum, which in itself makes a whole day program for your stay.”

“Gellért Hill offers some of the best panoramic views of Budapest. Named after bishop Gellért (Gerald), who was thrown to death from the hill by pagans in the fight against Christianity in 1046. At the top of the hill is the Citadel (Citadella) and Budapest's Statue of Liberty is also located here; you can see her from all parts of the city - a statue of a woman holding a palm leaf.”
