“One of the youngest park of Bucharest, good views, reasonably priced food stands which also sell beer, good for a quick visit before Parliament Palace. The land where is now Izvor Park have a tumultuous history, being destined by Ceausescu to another purpose. Here it was a demolition of a monastery and many houses, including an old palace, the Palace of State Archives. Ceausescu wanted to have here a Conference Room and Receptions, being very close to the People Palace - now the Parliament Palace. After the Revolution from 1989, after many purposes for this land, the General Town Hall of Bucharest decided to use this land for Izvor Park.”

Parque
“This is a great place where you can walk around. Among 40.000 different plants, you can take away yourself from a city life and feel the depth of the nature. It is quiet, big, with a large pond in the middle where you can feed the koi fish. In the summer there are movie screening festivals where you can bring your blanket and enjoy a nice evening, You also have lots of places where you can have a picnic, as there are many quiet places where you can retreat. You can visit the green house or the butterfly collection(see in advance when they are available to visit),or the botanical museum. For a quick getaway from the noisy city, this park is perfect.”

“Stunning park just 5 minutes walk from Podstel Bucharest and home of the Nation’s Heroes Memorial. Great for a stroll around, but beware, packed on a hot summer day. There’s also a Roman designed events venue in the park which hosts regular concerts and festivals. ”

Parque
“This stylish park is located in a very quiet neighborhood and surrounded by beautiful old villas, only ten minutes’ walk from Piaţa Romană. It was created in 1870 from a former drained swamp by the land owner George Ioanid, a wealthy bookseller and publisher. Although very small, it is one of Bucharest’s finest. Being designed after the English and French landscape gardens, it has all the elements of an idyllic garden: a pavilion, a pond, a bridge and statues. You can relax after a tiresome walk through the streets of the city, take a lot of pictures or read a book. The park is wonderful in early spring and is at a 20 min walk from my house.”
