“On a beautiful early sunny morning, it's worth taking an Uber at say 7.00 am to Iceberg's restaurant in Bondi Beach, as the drop off point to start your 45 minute round-trip walk from Bondi Beach to Bronte. You can have breakfast at Bronte and walk back. Take advantage of the morning sun. Take a sun visor too.”

“Nice bar/restaurant just up the road - head up the stairs to enjoy cocktails and a fun local vibe before or after dinner at one of the surrounding restaurants. ”

“Hotel Ravesis - There are four ways to drink at Hotel Ravesis – post-swim, downstairs with a cold schooner or cider; late night on a packed dancefloor with a vodka lime and soda or bubbles; on the side balcony with a crisp rosé (which they've got on tap here) that'll match the facade's pink paint job; or on the front balcony, perhaps exploring more of the wine list or diving into the fruit-heavy cocktail menu. ”

“Bondi Hardware - Good tunes, mini hot dogs and a kick-arse Hardware Maria made with a splash of beetroot juice and a sesame-salt rim are reasons enough to visit this Bondi bar set up in the old Thrifty Link Hardware store.”

“Bills - Why Granger waited up till now to open in Bondi is a total mystery. The queue’s a mile long, but nobody seems to care – partly because it’s a scene in itself waiting for a table and everyone seems to know each other, and partly because the turnaround is unusually quick. It's even easier if you pop in for dinner and order miso salmon, a high-end schnitzel or something off the barbecue menu. ”

“Think of Neighbourhood, the Bondi bar offering excellent cocktails in fairly modest surrounds, as the late, great Bayswater Brasserie in board shorts. It’s quite a team knocking around in the 100 capacity space. Panama and the Corner House’s Josh Evans is behind the snacks menu and Simon McGoram (last seen at Gardel’s Bar) is on the cans.”

“China Diner offers a cross-pollination of Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese dishes. They're doing a menu that’s been designed with big groups in mind, which might explain the caveat at the bottom of the snacks section. And that is ‘a minimum order of two per item’. There are Vietnamese sandwiches (the smoked tofu with pickled carrot, cucumber and coriander is the winner here) and sticky, sweet Malaysian-style Marmite chicken wings. Puffy and addictive rice crackers flecked with seaweed go strangely well with a side of Cantonese-style pickled red cabbage.”

“SEFA is a local delight! With delicious share plate meals from the Levantine and a fabulous wine list, enjoy tasty slow-cooked lamb shoulder, shawama, baked cauliflower, falafels, olives, breads, octopus and other delicious treats. Now also open for breakfast on weekends. Only 2 minute walk from our front door.”

“D'orazio Pizza + Porchetta -There’s only one place you need to be right now, and that’s face-first in a focaccia con porchetta. The outrageous sandwich is a hot, fatty, rich and juicy pile of chopped-up roast pork straight from the rotisserie, laid with crisp cos lettuce leaves and grilled eggplant, all smooshed between pieces of pizza bread in a happy delicious mess. And that’s what happens when you put Popolo’s Orazio D’Elia in the kitchen and catch Maurice Terzini at full power.”

“A terrific Italian restaurant at the end of the street, 3 min walk ( walk up the hill about 30 metres then through the little park with the swings, the restaurant is at the end of that street).”
