“It’s and easy walk from our place and a fun place to hang and people watch. We usually order the nachos to split because we go there often and they are a great price. However, the menu is seasonal and local with healthy options and great bison burgers. They have great rotating specials on pitchers. Upland makes great local beer, and they have a killer sour beer business going with a tasting room next door called The Wood Shop.”

“Neighborhood favorite, 3 blocks from the house. Has seating inside as well as on a big wrap-around porch; heaters warm the outside tables on cool nights. If they are crowded, go to their second location on Patterson (in the same building as Sweetgrass.) It has a less extensive menu but it is where they bake so it smells divine. There is a big wine cellar at the Patterson location. In addition, Feast sells hand pies and pastries at the Farmers Market on Saturday.”

“The Bloomington campus is one of the most beautiful college campuses in the US. Sample Gates on Indiana and Kirkwood is one of the most photographed traditions for graduation and college visits. Walking paths through Dunn’s Woods lead to the heart of the campus, to Indiana Memorial Union, the Eskenazi Museum of Art, the IU Auditorium and Lilly Library. ”

“The Bird is a great venue to go see a live show. It's in a historic building so the venue is an interesting shape. Popular cover groups that play there frequently are Rod Tuffcurls and the Benchpress as well as the Hairbangers Ball. They often have well-known artists as well. ”
