Family-owned for generations, we have been providing a "Home Away From Home" holiday for guests visiting Belize for over 15 years! Come stay in our cozy cottages, nestled in the center of a 400-acre working farm, San Lorenzo.
*This is one of two Air BnB listings we have. This listing is for a private room with two double beds; the other listing ("Farm Stay - Private Bunk Bed Room") is for a private room with two large beds that can sleep up to 4 adults if 2 people share a bed. Both have private bathrooms. **Please note that I (Suzi) manage the online bookings for Airbnb, but your actual hosts will be Orestes Aguiar and Santiago Juan, the owners and operators of the cottages. There is a total of 10 unique and comfortable cottages on the property; each cottage can accommodate single travelers or groups of up to 4 adults. There is also a large dining area and veranda, as well as an enclosed indoor studio and large yard spaces. The property surrounding the cottages is a working farm with domestic cattle and horses, as well as beautiful wild birds and a host of organic fruits and vegetables.
Our cottages are located about a 10-minute drive away from the popular Xunantunich Mayan ruins. Other nearby ruins include Caracol, El Pilar, Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) Cave and more. Every weekend, there is a farmer's market that happens in downtown San Ignacio and makes for a great activity for visitors. There are also other attractions such as a butterfly farm, cave tubing, visiting the Belize Zoo, and more.
  • We LOVED our stay at Santiago's farm! He is a perfect host and we really had a good time with him! The farm is beautifully located and the food was fantastic! We can recommend this place 100%. Even though we did not get on a horse back riding tour with Santiago, we are sure that this is a great experience as well. Thanks again for everything, Santiago! It was great meeting you.

  • My family and I enjoyed the vacation of a lifetime in Belize, beginning our stay at the Organic Farm Cottages. We were met at the airport by a driver arranged by the owner. Douglas was a great driver, friendly and informative. Arriving at the farm, we were greeted by the owner Santiago. He is an excellent host and prepared dinner for us that night. He has a wide range of diverse interests in which he is very well informed, from politics to agriculture to neuro-chemical impacts on human behavior. He is an excellent conversationalist. If you know anything about horses, you will hit his passion. The cottages were just as advertised. Clean and the setting is beautifully peaceful. As we were vacationing in September, the off-season, we were the only guests. We enjoyed an incredible breakfast each morning made from farm-provided produce and eggs. We ate at a few restaurants while in San Ignacio but no food was better prepared or tastier than what we enjoyed at the Farm Cottages. Our rooms were cleaned each day, and Deborah even did our laundry near the end of our too- brief time so we would have clean clothes for the rest of our trip. I highly recommend taking the guided horseback tour to the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich. You can actually see the ruins from the farm, and it is a wonderful ride along the Mopan river to the site. Climb to the top and you can see Guatemala and your cottage. William was an excellent guide. I spend much of my time traveling for work, and stay at the Park Hyatts and Wilshires of the world. I have never felt more comfortable, more relaxed, and more appreciated than I did while staying with my new friends Santiago and his staff.

  • Unfortunately, Suzie forgot to forward my booking to the owner of Hanna Stables and she hadn't answered my message, so Santiago had no idea we were coming when we met him at Hanna Stables. Fortunately, he was very kind and helpful. Even though he was fully booked he offered us a little house which is usually not to let for guests. The only problem was that we couldn't go to the restaurant since we were not on the list. We had to eat in town because of that. We still liked it a lot and enjoyed the stay very much! It was our happy place!

    Sophia2016-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our hosts Santiago and Terry spent every evening with us as we had dinner and discussed the area, current events, life in Belize. The asked about what we would like to eat and made special efforts to secure those locally. Santiago used his local contacts to ensure all of out tours we correctly scheduled and that we were picked up at the farm. Great conversations, and atmosphere.

    chris2016-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Suzi’s place was the highlight of our trip to Belize. The people that work and live there are like a family and make you feel like you are too. The views from the property are incredible, the food was great and the on site horse riding was super fun.

    Ken2018-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Hanna Stables with my husband for our honeymoon and it was definitely a high-light of the trip. Santiago's breadth of knowledge about everything from Belizian history to agriculture made every one of our conversations a joy and a host that we truly believe went above and beyond his duties. We took full advantage of the stay by horse-back riding to the Mayan ruins within site of our cottage, going to the ATM caves, and debriefing with all of the other amazing interesting guests that stayed at Hanna Stables. If you want to get away from the tourist-geared resorts, this is the best spot to do so!

    Rosie2015-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The farm was a lovely and peaceful place to stay. Santiago and Teri were very gracious and helpful hosts, full of interesting conversation. You can see Xunantunich from the farm and we decided to walk to it along the river that runs through the property, although it sounds like the horseback trips Santiago guides to the ruins are well worth it. The river is great for cooling off and we saw lots of interesting birds, including toucans and the northern potoo. If you enjoy good people and relaxing, this is the place. The farm is not particularly close to town (the village of San Jose is maybe three quarters of a mile to a mile away) so you might find it useful to have a car if you don't enjoy walking.

    Stephanie2016-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful place! Loved sipping coffee while watching the sun come up over Mayan ruins in the distance. Santiago and his crew are welcoming and provide a lot of history and science of the region, so be sure to ask them. Meals were also super affordable and tasty.

  • After Bruce showed us the cabin and left, my 13-year-old technophile son said, "Who needs Internet!" and with a gleeful smile, he threw himself on the bed. This, in itself, is amazing testimony! The log cabin is in a fantastic tranquil location, and it is thoughtfully and tastefully kitted out. Bruce lent us bicycles. Like everything at the cabin, the bicycles were excellent and suitable choices. Bruce went out of his way to make our vacation in Belize a memorable one. Thank you, Bruce!

    Cynthia Adina2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Bruce's log cabin is just like the pictures! We booked last minute and he was very accommodating! He picked us up from the water taxi and took us zip lining and cave tubing. He got us some great deals! The log cabin is a bit far from the city or any type of shops or restaurants but he makes sure that you are well taken care of! His friend Nyssa was also very nice and drove us just about everywhere making sure that all of our questions were answered and that we were able to see the things we wanted. I would definitely stay here again and hopefully we will! :)

    Kassy2016-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a unique piece of property and cabin. Super clean with plenty of space for two people. Bruce makes it easy to check in and offers ride service, which I would highly recommend if you are not from the area.

    Sara2017-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • You will for sure see monkeys.

    Marcell2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • This log cabin was perfect. We wanted at least one day/evening in a "jungle-like" setting. This is exactcly what was offered. Set far away from the convenience of transportation and stores, the log cabin was in the "jungle". We could hear the howler monkeys outside and all other creature which was such an experience. Bruce was very nice and stopped at an ATM before we were brought to the log cabin. Dont expect to travel anywhere while staying here and make sure you have enough food to last while staying at this home because there is no option for transportation and the nearset store is miles away. The stay did offer bicycles however, the cost was NOT included in the price which was disappointing since there is no other option for transportation the bicycles are MUCH needed. All in all it was a great experience staying here and we would stay again.

    Stephen2017-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great. The sounds of the jungle ring all day. Surrounded by tall trees, and the rattles of rain drops falling for ten mintues and stop. Then, just as you quick, within ten minutes, it’s a beautiful day again. Full disclosure, we went during the rainy season. The water is refreshing either way. I called the rain natural mosquito repellent. I learned that if you light a fire in a grill that smoke keeps mosquitoes away, somewhat. The netting over the bed kept most out at night, but with the two fans provided, because the A/C was broken, we slept with a little more comfort. Everything else work in the cabin. You are far in rural Belize, so be prepared to stay in the cabin most of the day. Have your board games ready. You’re going to get back into reading. We read a book he had on the shelf. Don’t be afraid to go fishing with the rod he provides. The fish was small when I hooked one. It went back in the pond. The kayak only seats one, but it’s cool to use in the pond. Make sure you have your fly swatter those made in Bermuda Landing. We rode bicycles today get to more near by location. The locals are friendly, and most have their home business like kitchen and food, gift shop, monkey tours. Try the fish off Northern Hwy 17.5. This place added to the adventure our honeymoon was already. Do the tours, but rest in between. Also, you’ll need recipes and ingredients to what you want to eat. Be prepared you’re in the reserve.

  • Brucie’s place was an adorable little cabin in secluded Isabella Bank. Comfortable, clean, and close to Altun-Ha, Crooked Tree Sanctuary, and other cool spots to check out. I highly recommend getting to the cabin the first time during daylight because we had a tricky time finding it in the dark. There are almost NO signs anywhere, and you are given a gate “code” when it is actually a combination lock. After we found it everything was great! I would recommend this spot to travelers looking for a stay in a peaceful and beautiful area.

    Sarah2017-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nyssa picked us up at the airport and helped get us settled and the place was nice and quiet and peaceful! If you're looking to disconnect, this is the place for you. The description on airbnb is accurate, there are no stores or restaurants nearby but you can buy supplies and cook for yourself in the full kitchen (small dorm size fridge). The neighbor will provide meals for $10US per meal per person and that was great too! Set up your hammocks and drink some Belikin and enjoy the sounds of the howler monkeys nearby!

Want to get away? This cabin is a perfect place to come relax. Comfortable one bedroom cabin, with full bath, kitchen, and living area. Enjoy all the comforts of home, in a private farm cabin just 5 miles outside San Ignacio town. Bedroom has A/C. Two beds available.
This is one of three rentals on the property. https://www.airbnb.com/users/23499058/listings/ This cozy two-floor cabin has one air-conditioned bedroom with a queen-sized bed, and a twin size bed downstairs for extra guests. It also has a full bathroom downstairs. Note that the A/C is only in the upstairs bedroom, accessed through the spiral wooden staircase. We provide all essentials, including toiletries, bath tissue, towels, linens, etc. We provide plenty of extra towels if you plan to take a dip in the river, which is just outside your doorstep. While enjoying the pristine Mopan River, take advantage of our picnic area and throw some hamburgers on the grill, or even bake some pizza in our outdoor brick oven!
We are in the rural area outside of San Ignacio town. The drive does not take more than around 15 minutes from downtown, but it can feel a bit farther. Please review the location carefully on the map to see the proximity from town. If close proximity to San Ignacio town proper is important, this may not be the place for you unless you have a rental car. If you want a private and relaxing area with most of the comforts of home, but still be close enough to get to town quickly, this is the perfect place for you.
  • This property is stunning. The house has a well stocked kitchen which we used to make ourselves dinner both nights we stayed. The AC in the upstairs bedroom works wonderfully and helped is sleep. The river was a little too high to go tubing but we dipped our toes in. Who could complain about a river in your back yard!? Highly recommended.

    Kelly2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin at Aliana's was very clean, cozy, and welcoming! The grounds are beautiful and we lobed being right on the river. The cabin is well equipped with daily necessities, and we foumd it very easy to cook in when we wanted a quiet evening at home. The caretakers, Maria and Luis, we're exceptionally helpful. They offered rides in and out of San Ignacio, picked us up at the Welcome Center, and made us feel at home. Having dinner with the owners, Carlos and Aliana, and enjoying Maria's tamales and Luis's barbecue was a highlight for us. We can wholeheartedly recommend this property and would happily return on our next visit to Belize!

    Evan2017-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Aliana's guest house was great. It's extremely picturesque and serene. It's right on the river and her wonderful property managers Maria and Luis will get an inner tube for you which is so fun. The house itself is great. We utilized the full kitchen quite a lot. The road it's down is quite rocky and you have to drive slowly. It's daunting at first but you get used to it after a couple times. There's are also some adorable kitties there, who don't go in the house but are fun to have around if you're a cat lover. It's a pretty quick drive to San Ignacio but yet in a quiet area. Just make sure you bring groceries with you. We really enjoyed it!

    Bettina2016-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • We were met in town by Suzi so we didn't get lost and made to feel very welcome at this lovely riverside cabin. This really is as nice as everyone says - beautifully decorated and very very cosy. Also a proper well equipped kitchen so you can cook saving on going out every meal. Best to have a car but its close to Bullet Tree falls and San Ignacio. The riverside location is really superb and great for BBQs. Maria and Lewis look after the place and really couldn't be more friendly and kind but that's typical in Belize. In fact so friendly we are looking to buy a place ourselves - that's how much we enjoyed our stay!

    Robin & Sophia2016-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Ernesto the manager was extremely helpful and accommodating. Communication was easy and they were very flexible. Kitchen is well equipped and the grounds are really nice and spacious, set by the river. Highly recommend.

    Thomas2018-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. Everything good in the other reviews is absolutely true. The house was clean, everything worked, air conditioning was strong. The host was great and responded to everything we needed immediately. Beautiful secluded property and an easy drive into town (we had a rental car). Internet was strong and good enough to (Hidden by Airbnb) back home. Overall a great base of operations for our tours to Tikal, ATM, and other area destinations. We look forward to returning someday with our kids as they would have loved to explore the property. We had a rental car but all tours that we did (Tikal, ATM) were willing to pickup from the BnB. The property IS on a dirt road for the last little bit of the drive but it was in good shape when we visited - I've been on much worse in the US!

    Dana2017-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time! Despite Hurricane Earl and the river rising we were safely housed in town with family even after our stay had ended. Maria was incredibly helpful, she even accompanied us on our travel across the border, both Aliana and Carlos were beyond wonderful and carried us to town a few times. The villa is private and spotless with an incredible view of the river. It's tucked away outside of town, far enough to feel like you're really in the jungle and close enough for grocery and attraction needs!

    Elizabeth2016-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first experience in Belize, and we were welcomed to an immaculately clean house with fresh local fruits. Aliana was friendly, sweet, and aided us with any questions we had. We also became acquainted with Luis and Maria (two groundskeepers) who were also incredibly helpful and friendly. Luis prepared and drove us to the river where we had a lazy tubing day that took us right back to their property, and Maria was always around in case we needed anything or had any questions. We were invited to a BBQ just down the slope of the property by the river where we got to know Aliana and her husband, Gabrielle, and Maria and Luis. This was one of the highlights of the trip that included delicious local food, good company, and fun stories. This is the perfect location for those traveling with a vehicle because it's close enough to the city to go in and out of easily, but it's also a nice little safe haven for those not wanting to stay in the hustle and bustle of San Ignacio. Only a short 10 min drive from the city center, this location was the best place we could have chosen for the first week of our honeymoon. The kitchen was fully equipped for any style of cooking; there was easy access to clean water; and it truly felt like paradise. We highly recommend booking with Aliana. She and her helpers were absolutely enchanting.

El servicio de limpieza fue excelente, asimismo tener a nuestra disposición desde bicicletas, kayaks, toallas de playa, todo lo necesario te hace sentir como en casa. Muchísimas gracias linda, Juan y todo el staff.

  • We stayed in cabana 5 for 5nights. It was the perfect start to our holiday. our own little haven, but close enough to everything. We were warmly welcomed and continously received good information. The two bikes that are provided are very useful. The cabana was beautiful as is caye caulker. Recommended.

    Nathalie2015-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • After several days of sightseeing, hiking, caving, we were looking forward to relax on Caye Caulker, maybe do some scuba diving. Colinda Cabana was a perfect choice! On the water, cute, clean, very friendly, and affordable. We had cabana #5 which I loved becasue it was in the shadow all day, and we had a nice view of the water from the deck. Mini fridge and coffee maker in the cabana make life so much easier, and the bikes are a great (Website hidden by Airbnb) is a tiny island, with no proper beach. The one place to hang out is at the split which is great but can get noisy. The other place to hang out by the water and enjoy peace is the pier at Colinda. Only their guests can use it so it feels very private. There are 2 side platforms with chairs, small tables and easy access to the water , palapa with 2 hammocks at the end of the pier. Everything is just right. Colin and Linda are friendly and very involved with anything that is going on the property. You will feel welcome, safe, and happy at Colinda Cabana!

    Aleksandra2013-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first Airbnb stay and it was fantastic! While the cabanas are in a bit more secluded part of the island it just feels peaceful (not at all isolated) and everything is a quick bike ride or walk away. Having the bikes provided by Colinda was really helpful. Juan and Emelita were terrific. Good communication, helpful recommendations for food and things to do. We arrived at Caye Caulker on the first water taxi from Belize City, around 9:30 and they were able to let us check in early to our cabana due to an early checkout (if the cabana had not been vacant, Juan said we could have stored our stuff in the office so we could enjoy the island). Great service and we loved the cabana. After reading some of the reviews on here I was nervous about mosquitoes at night but they weren't a problem at all inside our cabana.

    Emily2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great location , quite but beautiful and close to town.

    Jay2018-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Colinda's! Colin was very helpful and kind. We arrived early and were able to stow our luggage and explore the island while our room was being cleaned. He provided free bikes, which made exploring so much more fun. He gave us a map and recommended restaurant options, and all his recommendations were delicious! He also provided 2 kayaks, first come first served, so we were able to morning kayak for a couple of hours around the island on our last morning - beautiful and relaxing. The cabanas are clean, adorable, and have a nice little bathroom/shower. We couldn't have enjoyed our experience more. This comes highly recommended!

    Stephanie2015-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Best holiday experience ever, I really mean it as frequent traveler. Linda and Colin are perfect hosts and couple, they are very helpful and always with smiles on their face. You can feel that they love the place and love to host and talk to people. There are many subtle details that makes place perfect. Besides having and authentic Cabana experience you get lot of information about locals, water keg, sunbath cream, hammocks, bicycles, bottle opener, aloe tree and much more. Oh I forgot about plenty crabs and geckos around :) It is very far away from my home and I do not tend to visit places twice as there are so many of them around the world, but here I will probably make exception as It was exceptional experience.

  • Had a decent stay here and Nelli was super helpful answering any questions. Close to town/nightlife. Only gripe... While A/C wasn't listed on the ad, it was available in the room. However, nowhere on their ad does it say that there was a fee for said A/C. It was unusually hot/humid and had to pay out of pocket for A/C to get the remote to control because there was no airflow and small floor standing fan only blew the humid air around.

  • Ce lieux est magic, pour les amateurs de voyage atypique avec une immersion total du pays. Je recommande ce lieux, l'hôtes à de très bon conseil.

  • Basic but cute cabin, on nice grounds. When we arrived many people were hanging out in hammocks and there was a fire going. The place is a quick walk to the downtown area, market. Would recommend if you want to stay near the city, but in a relaxing peaceful environment.

    Kelsey2018-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were very flexible with our check-in times. The cabins are very clean and have an extra single bed if you plan to book a party of 3 people. The area outside is very green and lush with plenty of trees and birds around. The market is just on the other side of the road along side with a small bakery, just on the side of the road when you get out the property.

    Joao2018-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were very warm and helpful, happy to offer tips to enjoying San Ignacio & Belize. The camp was also quiet during the night for restful sleep. Wifi worked fine in the public area and there were several cute dogs running around the camp which made me feel at home. The cabin can get warm at night and shower a little musty but it's a tropical climate so its to be expected.

  • Great place and even better hosts. The atmosphere is very nice and I enjoyed getting to talk to Francisco's dad for a while out by the hammocks. I highly recommend staying here if you are in the area.

  • The location to Dangriga is wonderful. The space is a good size with nice kitchen-type amenities and a screened in porch/deck just steps away from the water. It was certainly relaxing. However, there were sand flea/sand flies everywhere... on the beach, in the screened in porch, even inside the cabana when we first arrived. With liberal amounts of bug spray, we were fine during the three nights we were there, but it was concerning at first. There were no chairs or lounges on the beach itself, which was a bit sad; we had to lay towels out to be able to sit in the sun at all. It would be a wonderful place to stay again... with bug spray.

  • Oceanus is located on a private strip of beach in Dangriga. It is a little surprise in the middle of nothing away from the center of town, but close enough that a quick drive to a nearby store takes only about three minutes. There is welcome privacy. The watchdog is friendly but does his job. There are only two cabañas, and lots of space for a barbecue grill on the beach. The yard is fenced on three sides adding to the feeling of seclusion. The cabaña is completely screened in. This keeps most of the bugs out, except for the sand flies which can’t be kept out. There were fish coils in the room that we were able to light when the sand flies came in. That helped quite a bit. The room has a bed, a very quiet AC unit, an electric stove, a refrigerator, and coffee maker. It would do well with a dining table and a small couch. One fan was noisy, and the other was quiet. The water from the tap didn’t make good coffee. Make sure to bring your own drinking water. The kitchen is perfect for light cooking and the view is gorgeous. The WiFi was iffy but sometimes it was stable. The shower is on the screened in porch. It is privacy protected with pimento sticks. The water got hot quickly. It didn’t heat up a couple of times. Even though we saw these few things that need improvement, we loved our time at Oceanus. Although so close to town, we felt like we were a world away from the ruckus. When it was time to leave four days later we weren’t ready to do so. We are caught in that spot where we want to recommend Oceanus to others, but we also want to keep it as our secret place. We highly recommend it for people who want simplicity, and seclusion.

    Jesse2017-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • The space was good, but there were nothing in the house, no water, no oil or coffee so bring everything with you. AC was very noisy, also there was a dog that was not very nice and we were charged for the laundry. A part from that, the place is fine

My place is close to the beach, the airport, nightlife, and public transport. You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space, the ambiance, the neighborhood, and the people. My place is good for couples.

    Boris2017-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for people who love relaxation, great beach views and close to everything. Arthur was an excellent host. He even took us out fishing for a few hours on his boat.

  • Excellent place. Great host

  • Curling's place is great. It's right on the beach and within walking distance of all the restaurants in the village. There are 3 cabana's on his property. You're right on the Main Street (sidewalk) that runs through the village. A short walk through the sand and you're at the cabana. The cabana itself has everything you need: comfy bed, fan overhead, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, strong wifi, hot shower, plenty of towels, and a porch with chairs, a table, and room for 2 hammocks. I slept really well listening to the ocean (and sometimes rain) at night. I felt very safe there too. Enjoy your time in Placencia!

    Katie2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time! The cabins are right on the beach. We watched the sunrise from the deck every morning. There is a very basic kitchen, and the owner said that they are working on completing it (it's missing a basin and stove top). But we were still able to make some food there. The location of the cabin is great, you can walk everywhere. We loved it there, and will definitely return. Thank you!

    Andrea2018-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is located right at the sea! the owner is very nice and helpful. The cabin really made out trip special, laying at the hammocks right at the beach :)) we couldn't enter the beach because there was so much seaweed, but that's everywhere in Placencia right now. We definitely recommend this place, and if we ever get the chance to return to Belize we will definitely book again!! <3

  • The Cabana is located directly on the beach and close to many restaurants & supermarkets. The place was clean, with a comfy bed and I felt very safe with the gate around the property. Curling is a excellent host and gave me much information, I enjoyed a lot staying there.

Peaceful, private cabana with ocean view on the reef side. Have coffee or a cocktail on the veranda with the Caribbean breeze while watching a sailboat on the turquoise water. Be sure to bring sunscreen, you cannot get good quality sunscreen here. All local taxes are included in the nightly rate.
This great little self contained cabana is only a short walk from the village, yet far enough away to enjoy real peace and quiet. The cabana offers a semi-secluded accommodation experience and comes with owners dedicated to ensuring your stay is comfortable. Ideal for 1 or 2 people seeking a tropical hideaway, the cabana is situated 65 feet from the beach, thru a gated fence in the adjacent lot, allowing access to the beach. Gumbo Limbo Cabana features a separate bedroom with double bed and AC. Private bath with hot and cold water. Lounge area and Kitchenette with fridge, microwave and 2 burner hot plate. Private balcony with hammock and chairs and an outdoor grill plus complimentary bikes and WIFI make this little cottage a terrific value. There are many golf cart taxis on the island or you have complimentary bikes to ride. Also, it is only a 10 min. walk to the village. We respect your privacy but are always available if you need something. You have a cell phone in the cabana so you can call whenever you need anything.
A quiet neighborhood but close to the village. Beautiful ocean views and breezes.
  • Bel endroit privé et tranquille, à proximité de tout. Bicyclettes disponible pour se promener sur l'île (pratique) Je recommande grandement!

  • We had a great time staying at the Gumbo-Limbo with Aria, Ben and their two dogs Shadow and AC. The photos represent the bungalow well, it's plenty spacious for a couple or small family. The air conditioner is a blessing in the evening and we slept great on the mattress, I usually have trouble finding a comfy bed when traveling but not this time! The area is good, far enough from the middle of town for it to be quiet but not too far. Walking or riding one of the bikes worked great for us, we only needed a taxi bringing our luggage to and from the water taxi. I'd highly recommend staying here, there's a lovely cool breeze from the ocean that cools you down in the shade of the porch.

    Amber2016-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great private bungalow close to the ocean with beautiful views and swimming out front. Aria and Ben were great caring hosts and helped us find our way around the Island. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing peaceful bungalow in tropical paradise.

    Max2016-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • How do I begin to describe my stay with wonderful Aria and Ben?! What special people and such kind, generous and warm hosts. I admit it is making me sad writing about them here as I am missing them so much. And of course Shadow and AC, my little companions. I just spent around 5 weeks staying at Gumbo Limbo, first in the new studio and then in the cabana. Like me you might be wondering which accommodation suits you better so let me describe both in case that helps. The Studio The studio is brand new so of course everything is shiny and clean and neat. The big studio room has a well equipped kitchenette, a little sofa sitting area, a huge TV and the best air con in all of Belize I think! The bathroom is beautiful, with a huge shower. If you want to be sure you will be comfortable in the heat and have no worries about insects then the studio is perfect for you. The cabana The cabana is quirky and cute, with a separate lounge room and bedroom, and a good sized bathroom. There is an air con in the bedroom but a good ceiling fan in the lounge. I loved the cabana with its little library and hammock on the patio. If you prefer your bedroom separate to living area and to feel like you're in a romantic little home, then the cabana is my recommendation for you. Gumbo Limbo is well located away from the noisy part of Caye Caulker and the beach is just through the neighbours yard. You can use one of the bicycles and you will soon be whizzing everywhere by bike and forget how to walk like I did. Haha! Ben and Aria will give you loads of tips about where to go and to eat etc. Don't miss jamming night at the sports bar on Friday nights or pizza from Southside, or fry jacks for breakfast from Errolyns. If you're a diver, ask Ben to forward you my advice about diving on the island. Have fun, I'm jealous! Top tip, Ben and Aria love tequila

    Jenny2016-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here! The cabana looks exactly like the photos, and Aria and Ben were absolutely great! Having them live on the property, makes it so easy to ask for any assistance -Ben called a taxi for us on the day we were leaving. :) It was so nice to have access to the two bikes since there aren't any cars on the island. It was lovely to wake up and be able to walk right to the water (in less than a minute). Having AC in the bedroom made sleeping very comfortable, and it is very quiet in the evenings. The shower is nice and spacious and there was always more than enough hot water. Absolutely loved this place and the hosts. Would totally recommend it to anyone interested in a nice, quiet, calm place to stay that is a few minute bike ride into town!!

    Jessica2016-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Gumbo Limbo. The cabana is in a great location, walk/bikeable but still quiet and private. It was clean and had a tropical, artsy vibe and was exactly as described. Aria and Ben were conscientious and friendly hosts and helped us get the most out of the trip. Can't recommend this listing enough!

    Zachary2017-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • We visited 3 places in Belize and Gumbo Limbo was our favorite booking. It is on the more southern end of the island, so it was more quiet and out of the more hectic areas. The cabaña itself was clean and cute. There was ample natural light and windows provided a nice breeze (there was an A/C unit in the bedroom too). Ben and Aria were extremely friendly and very quick at responding to questions. They gave a several tips that proved to be well worth the experience! While they were available for questions/help, we also had privacy to relax. They have bikes available for use and friendly dogs in the yard. We would book again with them in a heart-beat. We loved snorkeling with Carlos' catamaran but they feed sharks (an ecological no-no), so another option is Raggamuffin. We also love stand-up paddleboarding with Contour.

    Zoe2017-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Gumbo Limbo; the place was the perfect size for two people and was in a fantastic location. Aria and Ben were very responsive, hospitable, and helpful with all of our questions. They were very accommodating in letting us leave our bags a bit after checkout while we waited for our next place to be ready. I'd definitely recommend Gumbo Limbo!

My place is close to San Ignacio which is a major hub for inland tours!. You’ll love my place because of the location. It is only a couple miles away from town yet it is a peaceful paradise..
  • We were looking for a quiet place on the outskirts of San Ignacio and this place fit the bill perfectly. The cabins are new and tidy, the surroundings are a peaceful alternative to the bustle and noise of San Ignacio, and Pete (Richards's father) and family are absolutely wonderful hosts. Highy recommend this as oppsed to staying in town. It's about a mile and a half walk to town, we walked it a few times and rented a Jeep for 2 days. Pete generously gave us a ride the last morning to the bus.

    Blythe Reis2018-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place to stay for our last night in Belize! The cabin is on a citrus farm with cows and horses around. It's close to a 2 mile scenic hike. The wooden cabin had everything we needed! Thank you!

    Kelly2017-08-15T00:00:00Z

    Birgit2018-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Richard’s place is amazing! We didn’t get to meet him but we did meet his dad, Troyer, who was incredibly nice and welcoming. It was really a great place in the ‘jungle,’ very nice and peaceful. We made our own breakfast and coffee to have on the porch one morning. The place is a bit difficult to find if you’re coming for the first time in the dark, but what helped us is, coming from Santa Elena, it’s just a bit past the police checkpoint on the right. There is a sign that says ‘pilgrims paradise.’ This place is especially nice if you are renting a car during your time in Belize. It’s still doable if you do not have your own car, we just did a 20 minute walk in the morning out from the cabin to the main highway to get a taxi.

    Lizzie2018-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • We recommend this place highly. The location is perfect and close enough to town yet far enough to be very quiet at night. Very beautiful farm. Friendly and helpful folks. Loved it.

    Kirk2018-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The best spot in Belize. There’s even a crocodile you can see from the cabins, who I aptly named “Jerry”. Everything was great including the local tips on where to go for a secluded waterfall.

    Jake2018-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very scenic, very beautiful area and house! Just don’t leave any food open, or you might meet some unexpected friends ;)

    Hannah2018-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed 3 nights at Pilgrims Paradise. Great place in the middle of nature. Safe area. Nice cabin exactly like pictures and described. Working perfectly. Good Wi-Fi for mail next hotel reservation etc Very clean cabin. Air condition 5-10 min by car to town. We love the place and we can recommend without concerns. We would stay again

Colinda Cabanas is located in a quiet serene area of the island. The edge of town is a short 5 minute stroll down the beach. Many guests take tours off-site and go snorkeling, fishing or kayaking. However many guests just love to hang out on our pier, read a good book, go swimming and enjoy the ambiance.
  • Colinda's cabanas are clean and cozy, and located right on the beach, and we made good use of the private pier with hammocks at the end of the dock. Colin and Linda were warm, gracious hosts, and I would definitely stay with them again and recommend Colinda's to anyone looking for a relaxing, simple getaway.

  • This was my first time using this site and my fist Experance is going to be hard to beat..I only spent 2 nights at Colindas as it was booked up but I could have spent weeks there. Both Colin and Linda were super friendly and it was so relaxing and comfortable.. It was the hi light of my trip staying here.. Don't look any further this is where u want to be...

    Simone2013-04-19T00:00:00Z

    Mathieu2015-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Although not like a typical Airbnb experience, this was by far one of our favorites. The location is perfect - far enough away from "downtown" to be quiet and relaxing yet close enough to walk in for various activities. Prior to our arrival, Juan gave us detailed information about water taxi times and directions to the cabanas. It was just a short walk down the beach. From there, we were given time to get settled in and then Juan welcomed us to the island with more detailed information about the island and provided some recommendations. Again, we truly had a wonderful stay on the island. It was beautiful and very relaxing. Thank you for everything.

    Travis & Robin2016-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, comfortable and quiet. Colinda "classic Caribbean cabana with a view" had all of what was listed and so much more to offer. It was fantastic. Located on the calmer portion of Caye Caulker, it offered a relaxing time and a view away from the busy main road, but was a short walk to all that makes Caye Caulker so cool. We had an amazing time scuba diving, relaxing, and traveling to the interior of Belize and Guatemala. We had peace of mind knowing that our home base was Colinda's and our belongings were completely safe there. It was an incredible value for the price. If we ever return to Belize will definitely go return to Colin and Linda's haven.

    Nellie-Ann2012-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay, my only regret is that I didn't stay here for longer. The cabanas are just perfect and really let you feel like you're on vacation, on a beach, in Belize. Our room was clean, met our expectations and I had no problems checking in or out. Linda was also very responsive to my messages up until my arrival on Caulker which was very helpful.

    Devon2014-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • The place was amazing and just as advertised. When arrived we met with the couple on the island and they gave us a map, recommendations, and bikes. This place was perfect. Although there's no ac the fans make it comfortable. Thanks for the perfect stay

    Hana2016-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • This adorable place is at the south end of Caye Caulker. A bit off the beaten path (which is my personal preference), but close walking distance to everything on the caye. My cabana was clean, nicely furnished, and well appointed. I stayed only one night, but it was a great landing pad for that brief time. Would definitely book again if I return to Caye Caulker.

The large pool is only a matter of steps away from your doorway, you will always be only seconds away from that revitalizing water. Half price paddle boards and kayak rentals also available.
  • Wonderful get away on Caye Caulker. Located just a few min bike ride from the main strip, it's a perfect combination of relaxing quiet and convenience.

  • Hummingbird Cottages are fantastic and the perfect quiet retreat to go with your relaxing vacation on Caye Caulker! they are down on the airstrip side, so away from the loudness and action, allowing for quiet nights and great sleeping in that comfy bed with the air conditioning! we stayed in the Annex, purple, on bottom floor- which was a 1BR, and perfect for us. came with two bikes which we used to get around ALL day every day! just lock them up with the provided lock, and go exploring! You also have full- everyday - FREE use of Kayaks or SUP's... as Heydi where to go- and you leave your bikes locked there at his home, and paddle out into the crystal blue water to your hearts content! we saw (and held) three starfish! stop at the split, or KOKO beach... have a drink and paddle back! so much fun. this island is gorgeous, and we cannot wait to return. we stayed here for ten days, which I know is longer than most hang around, but it gave us a true feel for the island life and plenty of time to really settle in and live like a local.

  • The annex was exactly as described. It's a very quaint cozy apt. It should be noted that the a/c is in the livingroom. The bedroom a/c was not working. I left the door open to allow the cool air from the the livingroom to permeate the bedroom. There are also ceiling fans in all of the rooms as well so I was not uncomfortable. Being further away from the main strip of activities I appreciated the bicycles which allowed me to get around with ease. The checkout process was great. Not having to travel to another location was a relief because all one needed to do was leave the keys on the table. Overall the annex was a welcome respite from the cares of the world.

  • Bobbi's place is amazing. It's in a great location where you can have peace and quiet, but only a short walk away from the main boulevard in Caye Caulker. Upon arrival to the airport she set up a taxi driver to take us to the water taxi, then from the water taxi on the island we were picked up by another taxi, and then dropped off at our place. We didn't have to do anything and she made it incredibly easy. The place is wonderful and fully air conditioned. It has everything you need in Belize. The pool is an awesome place to hang out and is almost a must in Caye Caulker. We will be staying here again on our next visit!

  • We loved hummingbird annex! Itwas comfortable and had many small touches that made our stay easy. It was great to have the pool and some other people around at the other units. We were a little surprised that there were so my units at the site, I think 5-7 total. It is south of town on a quiet back street but we enjoyed walking around, even at night. Although we never met Brenda, she was always quick to respond over messaging and helped us reach our destination in Caye Caulker seamlessly, arranging Cabs in Belize City to make sure we got to our water taxi in time, and had someone waiting at the water taxi terminal on the Cayes to set us up at the annex. The bed was comfortable and so were the pillows. The kitchen was well equipped. It's a bit rustic but hey, it's belize!

  • Great owner and management is very attentive. Cellphone is provided and bikes, which is fantastic because it is a bit of walk from the majority of island amenities. They provide clean water and pretty much anything you would need to cook if you are so inclined. Pool is right outside the door but it is shared. Pool is good as there isn't much beach on the island. Overall this is a great place to stay and would definitely stay again.

  • This is a beautiful place in a lush, little side-street that's a flat, easy bike ride to the louder and "busier" parts of Caye Caulker. The folks working at and with the Hummingbird were really nice and clever, Brenda was incredibly helpful and kind with getting us set up, and you'll have plenty of interesting, colorful birds visiting your window throughout the day! Also worth mentioning, since I wasn't totally sure: the kitchen is completely stocked wrt pots/pans/cooking/serving, so if you're planning to eat in, all you'll need is food from the nearby vendors (but there are also great places to eat out just a block away.)

  • I was only a weekend, but I could rest and live great experiences. Rod is a great person with a big heart. Carmen and José family´s are very friendly and genuine. Also I met more friends through Rod. Beautiful memories on the river with the family of Tim & Rhoda, who are Mennonites, the beautiful voice of Emma and the fun times on the farm with Tammy, goats and goose-snake. I hope to return again. A highly recommended experience.

  • OMG, if you want to get off the beaten path this Rod & Jose's abode in San Antonio Rio Hondo, Belize is the place for you. Don't expect 5 star accommodations but do expect 5-star friends and family. What an interesting village and what stories Rod and others will have for you. Not to mention just plain home cooked meals. :-) Bring your smiles and leave with a very warm heart!

  • honestly on the first moment i felt dissponited but within minutes i was comfortable. It's a very small and simple place. the room is very basic but clean and it's a pleasure to be there. the surronding area is amazing - small village by the river and nature is all around. the family that host me is great, like all the people in the village.

  • Rod helps the host family with the Airbnb reservations and makes sure guests understand where they are going and introduces them to the family. It is a fun, interesting, little place to experience a quiet get-away in a small village setting. My first meal was with a family nearby, and I enjoyed getting to know them. The village is an easy drive to and from Orange Walk Town. There is also a bus from town, but you will need to be aware of the schedule. I believe it doesn't run on Sundays. Please note that there is no wifi available in the cabin. If you are choosing to stay here, you likely don't want wifi anyway. You can visit Rod and borrow his wifi if you need to briefly connect with family or friends to let them know you have arrived, but don't plan on surfing the web in your room or watching Netflix :)

    Geralyn2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Rod is a wonderful and kind human being with loads of experiences and stories to enlighten his guests with. He made sure my stay would be one to remember and was eager to share experiences, conversation, food, and laughs! Thanks, Rod it was great!

    Cristina2016-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Rod was nice as pie, and he helped us arrange a very reasonable ride with a sweet local man and his daughter to visit the ruins at Lamanai, which we can't recommend enough. Off the beaten path for sure, but the bus from Orange Walk will take you right into the neighborhood. There is a nearby cenote that was beautiful, and delicious simple meals available at a few houses in town. The hosts are also happy to arrange dinner or breakfast for you for very cheap, and the food is filling and tasty.

Leslie's Private Paradise offers three separate, self-contained hardwood cabins and a family-sized swimming pool on the fringe of a lush tropical rainforest in the village of Teakettle, just minutes away from Belmopan, the capita City of Belize.
The individual cabins are separate and apart, occupying their own private space. Each cabin has a large verandah, complete with hammock, where you can commune with nature and view open spaces where the many species of birds as well as the tropical flora and fauna abound.
We are just minutes away from Belmopan (perhaps the smallest capital city in the world); but the neighbourhood is rural and peaceful where most residents are either farmers or craftspeople. There are small bars, eateries and grocery shops within easy access.
  • Bobby and Bernadette were so gracious, kind and helpful - greeting us,bringing our bags in, recommending restaurants and outings - to try and to avoid. They made us feel like part of the family, and taught us more about the culture of Belize than we could have hoped, and always sought to make us comfortable. So personable and warm - we'll stay with them again in the lovely cabin, and enjoy the pool and beautiful grounds. A lovely family!

    Margaret2016-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • wonderful little cabin with basic necessities about 10 min away from Belmopan city! clean and comfortable bed, no ac but we did just fine with a couple standing fans they provided! property is beautiful and well kept! pool area was a great hang out spot. Bobby was definitely a wonderful host as he showed us around his property!

    Elisia2017-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to experience the best hospitality that Belmopan has to offer - this is your spot. Tha cabins were great. - rustic - but had everything we needed. Our hosts were incredible. So quiet and peaceful - would stay again! Thanks Bobbi!!!!

  • Leslie's Private Paradise is exactly what my family needed for our first few days in Belize. As we pulled into the circular drive, Bobby greeted us each by name, and simply said: "Welcome to your home in Belize." This was my first time traveling abroad with my kids, without my husband. That simple gesture meant a lot. The kids loved their time in the pool, they enjoyed walking around the property and marveled at the views, but their favorite part of the stay were two small dogs who slept on our porch, walked us to the car, and greeted us each day like we were their best friend. It's the small things that make you feel welcomed. Bobby, Bernadette, and Shannon do an extraordinary job of making you feel like at home. We stayed at several different properties while in Belize, including the beautiful Lodge at Chaa Creek, but my favorite place was Bobby's. It felt like home. Thank you for an incredible stay and introduction to Belize.

    Keyla2018-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • The overall experience at Bobby's was wonderful. I only wish we could have stayed longer. Bobby was extremely welcoming, guided us to his property, and upon our arrival made sure we were settled and had all that we needed. He gave a tour of his property, which is lush and green and surrounded by a jungle. The property was clean, neat, and safe. The grounds included an outdoor grilling area, a beautiful pool, and an outdoor yoga area. The pool has chairs, hammocks, and a bar area, that were perfect for relaxing by in the evening. Bobby made sure we felt at home. When he showed us to our cabin, he told us this your home, and you could tell he meant it. I would highly recommend staying here.

    Celeste2016-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I had a wonderful and enchanting stay on Bobby's lovely property during our week long sojourn in Belize. Located just a short few minutes outside of Belmopan, Bobby's place is a wonderfully manicured property and the cabin we stayed in was absolutely delightful. Large enough for us to feel comfortable and relaxed, yet cozy and intimate as we would expect a cabin to be. When we arrived, Bobby greeted us personally with great kindness and enthusiasm. A young man appeared to quickly spirit our luggage to our cabin and then Bobby personally walked us over and made sure we were settled in. We had interests in Belmopan and San Ignacio during our stay and Bobby's place was perfectly situated to make our trips into both towns most convenient. One of the enioyable aspects was just being able to sit out on the porch of the cabin and reflect on the beautiful grounds and canopy. Bobby has really developed this place nicely while maintaining the natural character of the surroundings. We only stayed 2 nights due to our in trip plans but this location would be perfect for a guest looking for a relaxing stay of a week or much more. Very comfortable. Easy access to towns, shopping and associated establishments by car. And finally, Bobby and his lovely wife and other family were so gracious. We had a wonderful time sitting for a spell with Bobby on the morning of our departure and having a delightful discussion. He was very generous with his time and made us feel so welcomed and important. He is a very interesting person with much experience, both in and outside of Belize, so any guest interested in learning would be well advised to engage Bobby in discussion. He is most gracious. We DEFINITELY plan to return again (and hopefully again after and after). We left Bobby's place with a sense of delight, joy and invigoration.

    Wes2017-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Bobby is a genuine, extremely hospitable host. He graciously opens his entire property of several acres to his guests. Horses meander freely through the lush rain forest grounds. Shannon accompanies you to your cottage in a golf cart. The cottage itself is rudimentary, the style is a bit old, and tired but clean. Our stay was during torrential rains so we relaxed on the deck in the hammock and visited Mayan sites in St Ignacio. This location was perfect for our needs, just minutes from The capital, Belmopan and a 30 min drive from St Ignacio.

  • Wonderful location so you get a true feeling for what living out in the country in Belize is really like. Totally enjoyed our stay there and would recommend it. Eating at Little Rock cafe and Teri's home cooking is a must!

If you're looking to experience the culture of a local Village in Belize, Latitude 17 is the perfect spot.
  • We travelled to Belize and arranged this stay at the last minute due to the Hurricane that had just hit.. The little Garifuna village was perfect and this place took you into the heart of it rather than the resorts at the other end (which were far from appealing to a traveller looking to be immersed in the culture, rather than surrounded by tourists..) A warm welcome, comfortable place and overall quaint charm of the location was wonderful and made us feel entirely at home.. The pier is a stroll away, the people were inviting, the supermarket a couple doors down exploits the local people by overcharging them for essentials. Shop local and avoid it. There was never a moment we felt out of place, and our hosts were fabulous. The adventures are easy to find and a rental car is the best option to get everywhere. Mirko was very helpful and had a great list of places to get to as well as a helpful guide to what did and did not need a guide. Suggested treks: Southern Highway to Punta Gorda will lead you to a couple great mayan ruins. Bocawina forest was fabulous and close. Snorkeling with a local fisherman was at the top of the list of great things. Explore and enjoy, it was beautiful. BE CAREFUL OF ROAD HUMPS!!! They are all over the highway and rarely marked clearly. Once you get used to them it is easy to manage. Find What You Love... Love What you Find... Thank you to both Mirko and his wife for exactly what we expected.

  • Nice spacious cabana in the heart of Hopkins. Fun to people watch and everything is right there. Hammocks go great with the sea breeze in the afternoon. Wade had good info on the best traditional food spots and live music. See Kyra at Coconutrow for your snorkeling and transport needs. She is the best!

  • Emma, the Cabana and Hopkins were all wonderful! Emma was welcoming, accessible and full of info about activities, restaurants and bars in Hopkins. The Cabana was super clean, had everything we needed and in a great location - the bikes and the hammocks were a huge plus to our vacation. Hopkins was a great place for a relaxing week, the people were the best, good food and beaches all easily accessible. We're hoping to make the trip again!

  • Great location in central Hopkins. Conveniently located near 'Happy Grocery Store' and fresh produce stand next door. Spacious living/ dining room with full galley kitchen. Has private back porch and large front porch with hammocks, and another dining table. Great beach access. Mirko set us up with great excursions with excellent guides (Lincoln with Patrick's Boat Tours for reef snorkeling) and (Edger with Belize Inland Tours for cave tubing).

    Thomas2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • very clean and well maintained. mirko was very helpful and promptly responded to all our questions.

  • We loved our stay here and had a really great time experiencing Hopkins. I don't think the pictures do this place justice! Mirko was extremely helpful and attentive to us during our planning, arrival and during our stay without feeling like he was monitoring our every move. The cabana is right in the heart of Hopkins - fruit and vegetable stand to your right, full grocery store down to the left and the ocean only a 2 min walk. The bikes that were provided made getting around extremely convenient and helpful! It really allowed us the freedom to explore Hopkins in and among the rest of the locals. I would HIGHLY recommend this spot!! Thanks for a great experience.

    Megan2016-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Mirko and Annett were very pleasant and accommodating hosts and were always available if needed. The cabana is very beautifully constructed and decorated, and is very comfortable. It is located near to everything a vacationer could want (beach is a two minute walk away). Hopkins is a perfect mixture of being very fun and friendly for tourists without feeling "touristy".

    Colin2015-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in Hopkins very much! Mirko and Annette were responsive, helpful and efficient. The cabana location is super convenient, with the beach, grocery, cafes, and fresh fruit and vegetables all within 5 minutes walk. However, the position on the main road does make it a bit dusty. The balcony is great for people-watching! The cabana was spacious and comfortable, with a full kitchen and ample room for 4 people.

This small rustic cabin is on the bank of the New River, just an 8 minute drive from downtown Orange Walk. We offer a free ride to town every morning at 7:30. We can also make arrangements if you wish to head to town for dinner and drinks. Maracas Bar and Grill on site open Thursday thru Sunday, for lunch and dinner. The cabin is one 6 on 5 acres of riverside property. If you're a birder, early morning is a good time. Spiny tail iguanas, proboscis bats, other wildlife live on the property
Cabin 16 is a stand alone, open floor plan with two double beds. The room is equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, 32" cable TV, and coffee maker (and coffee, sugar, creamer), and most importantly, air conditioning! The cabin is in front of the New River with a private porch and its own hammock. Kick back and enjoy views of the New River, iguanas, crocodiles, hummingbirds, and even the occasional sugar barge. The New River that runs alongside the property was called Tzul Wuinik Cob by the Mayas which translates to "river of strange faces".
Orange Walk is a true feel of small town Northern Belize. If you're coming in from Belize City, look out for the sugar factory at the entrance of the town (you'll see two smoke stacks on your right hand side). Acres and acres of cane fields line the highways and villages surrounding Orange Walk. We are also home to 2 of the 3 rum distilleries in Belize. An 8-minute drive will take you to the center of town. The street leading to the market is blocked off for pedestrians on Saturday mornings. Take a stroll and buy some fresh fruit. Orange Walk is not one of the traditional tourist destinations in Belize. Come here for Mayan Temples, culture, Mestizo cuisine, rum, and friendly people. If you like adventure, we offer tour of Lamanai Archaeological Site that depart from the riverside deck on the property. More info about this in the "other things to note" section. ....Or you can relax and do nothing. If you don't want to leave the property, Maracas Bar and Grill is located onsite (open for lunch & dinner Wednesday through Sunday). Stop by and have a chat with the bartender. Jason Kelly can show you his 1TB music collection and Sandro can show you his tattoo collection! BREAKFAST We offer a free 8-minute shuttle at 7:30am to our sister property which is on the Main St. Cocina La Malinche is open for breakfast every day. Spend anywhere from usd$2 to usd $7. Arrangements must be made the day before, so please let us know at check-in if you'd like a shuttle ride. Orange Walk is also known for its tacos! Ask any employee where you can get the best tacos and watch the debate start. All taco vendors set up shop at the crack of dawn and stay until they are sold out. You'll get 3 for bzd $1 at pretty much all shops. They all make their own pepper sauce, so make sure to ask for some if you like spicy food!

  • The location was perfect, right on the beach. We had an amazing view of the ocean from our room. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we slept great after a long day swimming in the ocean. We can't wait to go back and stay there again!

  • We had a wonderful stay with a fantastic host in Orlando, who really cares about his guests and goes out of the way to help and take care of them. He also provided us with a fabulous Lamanai tour which was a relatively small group of guests participating and skillfully managed to avoid the massive influx of cruise ship guests to the ruins, simply by adjusting the time of arrival and lunch on site. There were also some beautiful birds right outside our cottage and the boat trip was fabulous! We came around one corner and surprised an Osprey in the water who was trying to carry off a huge bass he had in his talons. Saw him SO close-up! Highest recommendations! Come on a Wed thru Sunday to enjoy the restaurant and bar on the river near the cabins!

  • Hideaway getaway, i call it. The location - beautiful. The surroundings - clean. The atmosphere - warm and hospitable. The birds chirping was a most welcomed alarm in the mornings. We had but two issues - the check-in arrangements being a little unclear and the wifi not working in the cabin. we brought it to the attention of the host and his response was very positive. Other than these issues, we really enjoyed our stay and would certainly return. Looking forward to that pool that is being built on the premises. We have already started spreading the word about how great the accomodation was.

    Stevanni2018-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • The hospitality was amazing! Everyone was very friendly and they were able to accommodate our requests. The Lamanai Mayan Ruin tour was amazing. Highly recommend.

  • My sister and I stayed here for 4 nights. The cabins and restaurant are situated on the New River and the grounds are beautiful and attentively maintained. We woke up early each morning to watch the many species of birds and enjoyed the delicious coffee provided in the cabins. The hosts provide a shuttle to their hotel in Orange Walk each morning at 7:30 for a delicious breakfast. The cabins were well appointed and tidy, with comfortable beds and pillows and a hot shower. There was also a mini-fridge, coffee maker with good coffee, a TV, and the porch has a bench and a place to hang the hammock that's stored in a drawer in the room. The grounds also have several covered seating areas on the rivers edge to enjoy the quiet beauty of the river. The food at the restaurant on site was really delicious and made fantastic piña coladas. Guests should note that the restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and plan accordingly. We were glad that we rented a SUV at the airport and had the freedom to go to breakfast at the hotel at little later than the shuttle, go to dinner in town when the restaurant was closed and rain would have made walking to town less pleasant, and to explore Orange Walk & Corozal Districts from this clean and comfortable home base. Orlando was super helpful with suggestions for activities on our third day and the entire family and staff was very friendly and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

  • Great price for the asking price. Very accommodating and informative. I suggest checking with the staff before booking any excursions outside of the resort. Great food and service at the restaurant on the resort. It was a little further off than most places but well worth the trip. Would definitely stay here again!

Brand new riverside bungalow with wrap-around patio overlooking the river. Perfect place to unwind and relax. Enjoy all the amenities and comforts of home in a private setting, just outside of San Ignacio town.
This is one of three rentals on the property. https://www.airbnb.com/users/23499058/listings
Located on a private farm property with two other rental homes. Fulltime caretakers live on the property.
  • Aliana's place is quite rugged to get to, but once you are there, it's most serene! Loved the caretakers, Maria and Luis. The kitty cats are quite cute and add a "homey" feeling.

    Jay2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • When we first stumbled upon Aliana's riverside bungalow, it seemed almost too good to be true. There must be a catch! But everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Ernesto is the most thoughtful, gracious host anyone could ask for. He provided us with all the information we needed and showed us around the property. The cabin is just perfect and the view is absolutely beautiful. The kitchen contains everything one needs. The bed is comfortable, bathroom spacious and the wrap around deck provides such an amazing view of the river. Ernesto would greet us daily with his smile and give us excellent recommendations for restaurants and tours around the Cayo District. He went above and beyond to make our stay in the Cayo District comfortable and memorable. Also, the property grounds are like a gem and kept in pristine condition by Glen. Thanks for the memories!!! We will be back.

  • Aliana's was a great location. We enjoyed being away from town, and the drive to and from town was not too far and close to lots of excursions. Our tour guide for the ATM tour picked us up from Aliana's, which was very convenient. The house was great, right next to the river, and we loved having the dogs and cat there to greet us on the property. My husband wanted to bring them home with us. We also loved having a full kitchen, since many of the tours left early morning, it was nice to be able to cook breakfast before heading out for the day. We just stopped at one of the many grocery stores on the way to the house. Aliana was very accommodating and met us in town when we got there, so we could follow her to the house, we really appreciated this as street signs are sparse in San Ignacio. We can't wait to visit again!

  • We stayed at the riverside cabin which was recently built so very modern, clean and homey. The kitchen was stocked with quality cooking utensils and appliances. The setting made our stay special. The cabin is nestled in the trees overlooking the Mopan River. We spend most of the time sitting on the wrap around porch watching the wildlife. Hearing the river gurgle at night was very restful. Even though the setting was private, it was only a 10 to 15 minutes drive to town. The road is unpaved, but we'll maintained and very drivable. Maria, the housekeeper and Ernesto went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The made us feel like family. We will definitely return again and recomend to all our friends.

  • My friend and I stayed at Aliana's in July 2018 in Riverside Cabin #2. Everything about our stay was great! Olga was very prompt to respond to questions via AirBnB both before and during our stay. She greeted us upon arrival and showed us all around the beautiful property. She told us about the many fruit trees they cultivate and even gave us some fresh fruit to eat! It was obvious how much pride she takes in their farm property, and how important our comfort was to her. The cabin was clean and really well-appointed with modern amenities, and was cozy and comfortable for two people. We loved having AC! The only minor off-putting thing was that the sinks only have cold water (hot water is available in the shower only). We weren't sure how to wash dishes without hot water but Olga said it was fine to wash them in cold. The property was quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed the company of Tuxedo, the cat, who loved to hang out on our deck every day. Both Olga and Ernesto were so friendly and helpful during our stay - checking on us, offering rides into town, etc. Ernesto even arranged a last-minute private tour for us to go to the Mayan ruins at Xunantunich after we thought we'd missed all the tours for that day. We wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the property more, especially floating in the river! We didn't have time to do that during our visit, but they do offer canoes and inner tubes for fun on the water. Aliana's is a bit outside of town from San Ignacio, but we found that shuttle companies and tour operators were happy to come get us. and it was only about a 10 minute taxi ride into town. We highly recommend Aliana's!

    Sarah2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place was excellent - a hidden gem just a short drive away from San Ignacio. The cabin had a wonderful view of the river and was exactly what we were looking for (clean, full kitchen, nice bathroom, comfy living room and bedroom). The rest of the space/land was filled with fruit trees and BBQ/picnic area and the hammocks were a welcomed amenity to the normal busy city-life. Ernesto was a wonderful and accommodating host - we look forward to coming back in the future!

  • This is a wonderfully comfortable cabin in a lovely quiet setting by a river. It is very well equipeted: we did lots of cooking in the kitchen. And loved eating on the table on the deck above the river. And such a bonus to have a washing machine and dryer steps from cabin. Its about 15-20 minutes outside of the town of San Ignacio. The last 1.5 mile of the road is not-paved but totally easy to drive on. The owner, Aliana and the care-takers, Luis and Maria take the definition of hospitality to a whole new level.I whole heartedly recommend staying here and hope to return in the future.

  • A truly magical stay here. Right on the beach. We absolutely loved our stay here. Curling is an amazing host and person, full of heart. I miss the place already. Highly recommend a stay here. Placencia is a beautiful place, I just wish we had more time there. I hope to return and I'll be staying with curling again for sure. Thanks for a great stay Curling!

    Guy2018-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Curling was an excellent host. We were able to check in early, he gave us tips on what to do in Placencia, and was always there to answer any questions we had. The cabana is right on the beach, it has a microwave, fridge, and coffeemaker. The hammocks are comfortable and very inviting. It is within walking distance of the amenities of the southern tip of Placencia.

    Mike2018-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great value spot on the beach.

    Wade2017-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cabana is very nice. Definitely worth every penny. This is going to be our go to spot for our Placencia trips. The location is top notch.

    Nicole2018-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • The location is perfect. For a place literally on the beach, it’s pretty much all you need. Parking is easiest across from the police station, just a few minute walk down the sidewalk. The town is friendly with plenty of decent drinks and good food.

    Adele2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • The house was in a great location and definitely worth the money. The host is extremely friendly and when we checked in he was more than happy to welcome us to his cabana and sat and talked with us to get to know us. There was some minor rust which is to be expected right next to the water and since we were traveling in the rainy season we had to be careful about opening the windows so it did get a bit stuffy. Overall though it was a great stay, especially if you plan on spending a lot of time on the beach (since it's right outside your door).

    Hunter2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Curling was very responsive to any questions I had. Easy to get to and in a great location central to all the bars and restaurants but still secluded in your own cabin right on the beach. Loved the location and the hammocks were a nice treat! Curling and his wife are very friendly and gave lots of good local tips. Would recommend to any solo traveler or a couple!

Awaken to the sound of tropical birds in this tranquil haven set in 32 lush areas on Eden Farm. We have an abundance of many types of tropical fruit and flowering trees. Sit on the porch, bathed in morning sunlight, with a view of the foothills of the Mayan Mountains. Watch the toucans, parrots, and hummingbirds which frequent the property. Near San Antonio, it is one of the closest of rentable properties to many of the major tourist attractions in Cayo. We have good WIFI!
The bedroom has a Full size double bed with a comfortable mattress. There are 2 ceiling fans. The bathroom has a tub bath and standing shower. There are colourful Guatemalan and Belizean textiles. The kitchen is well equipped, with a gas cooker, fridge, toaster, coffee maker and a filtered drinking water tap.
Eden Farm's many tropical fruit trees include: Jamaica Lime, soursop, avocado, banana, orange, tamarind, breadfruit, cashew, coconut, starfruit, mango, and grapefruit, among many. Howler monkeys are sometimes heard just off the property. The farm abuts Elijio Panti Medicinal Reserve, which can be accessed via San Antonio village, with a local guide. San Antonio village is a Yucatec Mayan village which is renowned for healers and artists. The late Elijio Panti is the most famous of healers in Belize, and used to reside and work in the village. He taught a number of healers in the area, and is immortalised in the book "Sastun: My Apprenticeship with a Maya Healer" by Rosita Arvigo, which is worth reading. The village has 2 small stores, and 7 churches. There is a Mayan site called Pacbitun, a short distance beyond the farm. The farm is close to attractions such as: MET Horse-riding, Calico Jack's zip-lining, Rio-On Pools, 1000 Foot Falls, Rio-Frio Cave, Barton Creek Cave, Big Rock Falls and the entrance to the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve. This latter leads to Caracol, the most important and largest of Mayan sites in Belize. We are near to luxury lodges such as Blancaneaux Lodge, Gaia River Lodge, and Mystic River Resort, for which you can book lunch, dinner and pool tickets. The twin towns of Santa Elena/San Ignacio are under 30 minutes away by car, down a partly paved road. There is a lively Saturday market in San Ignacio, where you can buy fish, shrimp and lobster (in season) if you go early enough. A few stalls are also present on other days. By prior arrangement with Bart at Maya Mountain Lodge, you can order an organic veg box, which you would need to collect on a Thursday around 12pm.
  • We came to Belize looking to find a place to call home. We have traveled from Punta Gorda to Corozal and everywhere in between. We ended up twice changing our calendar to stay longer at Robin and Sophia's place! This was our favorite place out of the 6 Airbnb's we stayed at! Their description and pics were very accurate but we found their place way better than expected. They were right about suggesting a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The road was a bit rough on our 1st ride to their place for us but as we soon found out for Belize it was very ok. Driving in Belize off the main highways is often extremely rough, so we found out as we explored Belize so the road to their place wasn't as bad as we first thought!! Marvin and Elizabeth the caretakers are wonderful! Marvin introduced us to Belize and his recommendations were right on. Everywhere we went people asked where we were staying and we would tell them, At 1st they didn't recognize the location but the minute we mentioned Marvin they knew exactly where we were! Robin and Sophia are blessed to have Marvin and Elizabeth as caretakers of their property and you will be blessed by Marvin and Elizabeth too when you stay at their place. All good things come to an end and we were very sad to leave our slice of heaven here in Belize. Their place is so tucked away, being on the farm, waking up to the birds, hearing the farm animals you couldn't ask for a more serene private place to call home for the time you stay! Thank you Robin, Sophia, Marvin and Elizabeth for providing us a slice of experiencing what it will be like to live in Belize. We will always recommend and come back to stay your beautiful place.

  • what a nice place!! if you like to have a good place to relax and rest, enjoy the nature and just read a book or go for a easy walk.. thats the perfect spot! the kitchen is good equipped and the bed is super comfortable! highly recommend for chill and quiet people :)

  • This place is perfect! Such a GREAT deal and has everything you could need. Robin and Sophia are very precise with directions and quick to respond. The on-site host, Marvin, was also extremely helpful and friendly. His wife also cooked us a delicious dinner one night. Would definitely stay here again without a second thought

    Nicole2018-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved Eden Farms! The grounds are beautiful and the guest house was so cute, cozy, and clean. The caretakers Marvin and Elizabeth were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay. Marvin showed us the property, sheeps, and most of all, all of the fruit throughout. Elizabeth cooked us a DELICIOUS meal! The location was perfect with countless outdoor activities within a 20 minute drive. We highly recommend to stay here and hope to be back again someday!

    Betsy2018-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Eden Farm was amazing! I can’t believe I found such a gem. I stayed for 3 1/2 weeks and it was the perfect location for me. Marvin, Elizabeth and their family were fantastic, and made sure I had everything I needed. Marvin was able to find me excellent tour guides and helped me book additional tours. I plan on staying here again when I go back!

    Sara2018-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Een mooie plek met een prachtig huisje. Marvin (de boer) was erg behulpzaam! Wij hadden geen eigen auto, je zit wel overal ver van af. Het is handig om van tevoren boodschappen mee te nemen.

    Marin2018-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great, comfortable spot to stay between Mountain Pine Ridge and San Ignacio. It can be a great jumping place to do any of the numerous tours in the area. It is not within the town of San Antonio, but nearby. Also, San Antonio does not have much going on although it does have two little restaurants (with no signs to indicate they are restaurants ). The people are exceptionally friendly, though. Marvin, the property manager, is extremely friendly and helpful. We had a couple of good chats, and he showed me around. But he gave me plenty of my own space. Although I didn’t use it, there is a nice little kitchen set up. The bed is comfortable. There is a good couch and dining table and chairs. The Wi-Fi was very good which was important in my situation.

My place is close to San Ignacio which is a major hub for inland tours!. You’ll love my place because of the location. It is only a couple miles away from town yet it is a peaceful paradise..
  • Richard's communication is very prompt for starters. Whenever I sent him a note w/ a question, he's ready with an answer within the hour at most from my experience. Driving to his place, was picturesque! The roadway was paved 95% of the way, and the remaining 5% was not, but it wasn't inconvenient at all. As soon as we got to the driveway, this beautiful cabin appeared, with a very lush backdrop to complete the picture! It was a place we've never stayed at, but were glad we did! The cabin is cozy, clean, compact, and quiet. It was the perfect place to unplug and just enjoy nature and history! He gave suggestions for tours that panned our really well! His place is located very close to every tourist could want - market, town, police department, shops and restaurant, ruins and everything someone adventurous could want. It would definitely help to rent a car since it makes navigating around more fun and convenient. It was cool to have horses, cows, chickens, and a dog to call as our 'pets' even though we didn't get to pet them. Hearing the sounds of nature everyday was incredible! I would recommend couples to stay here! We spent our 5th year anniversary in Belize and this place, and agreed that this has been the best vacation experience to date! Be sure to check out the local sites - I know everyone will enjoy them!

  • This cabin was a fantastic value. It had everything we needed and the location was fantastic. Richard responded to inquires immediately and his father who owns the land was very welcoming and kind.

    Phil2018-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot say enough good things about these cabins and the people that own them. The most incredible people I have met in Belize. The property is breathtaking and taking into consideration all the amenities for the price, you won't find a better place in Belize. I really felt at home here, 10/10 recommend if staying in the San Ignacio area. I want to make another trip back to the farm already I loved it so much. Peter, Estella and Richard make a wonderful team. I have 0 complaints. I could go on and on about the hospitality and the hard work they've put into their property! Like hiking? They've make a trail to the top of the mountain. Seriously, I'm not one to leave a lengthy review, but these people, this place, 100% deserve every word. I can't say enough good things about our experience here ❤

    Miranda2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is so peaceful, enchanting environment surrounded by montains, beautiful vegetation, birds singing, little lake in front of the cabin that you can canoe on! the place was beautiful, so nicely decorated and peaceful. It has evrething you need to cook! Very clean also. We didn’t have time to go trecking in the trails but it loocked very nice. It’s a bit away off the beaten path that’s wath gives it its charm, about 10 minutes by car from the town. The last 2 km were off the paved road. We had a 2 wheel drive and with all the rain they had, we barely made it up the last muddy hill, a 4 wheel drive would have been nice. We warmly recommend this beautiful cabin and our only regret is that we didn’t have time to stay longer!

  • Great place with your own private cabin in the jungle. Awesome nature paths nearby. We wish we could have stayed longer than 1 night!

  • We loved this place. I highly recommend staying here. He even taught us how to milk his cows, take his canoe out, and gave us coffee!

  • We had a tremendous time at Richard's place. Richard and his family were really friendly. It really is a little heaven on Earth, the cabins were absolutely lovely. The place is very beautiful, there is a wonderful nature trail where we were able to see coatis, toucans and lots of other animals. Highly recommended, thank you very much Richard !

  • We loved our time in the rustic cabin with all the amenities and comforts of home. My favorite part was sitting on the porch swing enjoying the amazing view and beautiful vegetation. The bed is AMAZINGLY comfortable, too, and the hosts really have thought of everything and added so many little touches. We will be back!

  • Wonderful to have the beach right there in front of you in the morning and a private screened in porch. (Although bring bug spray.. They will still get in and attack you!) The outdoor shower and indoor features were nice. The WiFi is a little sketchy as was the TV signal but overall it was a nice place. No carpeting so bring sandals and keep a towel nearby to clean your feet before hopping into bed.

    Wanda2018-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • House was very pleasant and private. The road to house was under water we arrived at night and was a concern. Made it through ok but could have been disastrous, considering we knew no one and it was fairly late . Sits just outside of town creating a very private and quiet area. TV did not work but that was not an issue for us. Some lounge chairs on the beach would have been a great addition.

    Kelly2018-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, we had a nice time. Cabana was very nice, comfortable and clean. Very secluded. Views were beautiful. Would suggest bringing your own vehicle as walking is not really an option and the price of a taxi was not included with the rental. $40 each trip into town.

    Kelly2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. If your looking for something quiet and private, it's perfect. I recommend having transportation of your own, unless your ok walking a couple miles each way. This place is truly heaven if you want to be secluded.

  • Be careful with booking this location. I booked a two night stay a couple of months in advance. I sent a couple of messages to the host with no response. I was a little wary of the lack of response, but I figured it’d be fine. The host is a women’s group with a neighbor boy controlling the online aspects. I’m not sure what happened, but we showed up and nobody was there. We waited for hours... I sent messages, I called, and a local even drove me to the house of the host. There was no response and nobody showed up. Eventually, we walked down the road to another place (Caribbean Shores B&B, which was amazing by the way!). My money was refunded the next day, but on vacation, time is the real commodity, and we spent half a day trying to contact this host. I’m sure it would have been great if we got in, but they didn’t check their online account and we suffered because of it. I talked to a neighboring business and this wasn’t the first time they’ve had issues. There are plenty of other great locations around Hopkins, and I’d suggest going with one of them.

  • Wonderful cabin right on the beach, great place to stay.

    Tomasz2018-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • This little place was exactly what we were looking for for our few days in Hopkins. While the cabana itself wasn't anything too fancy, we had everything we needed and the location was fantastic! The communication with Amilcar was seamless, and he was beyond kind and helpful throughout the duration of our stay - I would definitely recommend!

    Megan2018-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • It's a beautiful place, right on the beach. The place is clean, the bed is very comfortable . There were a very good directions how to get to the place. I had a delicious dinner and breakfast there. Very nice and a private place!

  • Amilcar was super helpful during the two days stay we had, even with things not related to the cabaña. The cabaña is right at the beach, you can’t get any closer. I will definitely come back to Hopkins, perfect spot to kick back and take some time off.

  • This was my second stay at Colindas and just as last time it was ths perfect place to spend a week and unwind. It's so peaceful and relaxing whether you are enjoying the sun and the sounds of the sea on the fabulous dock or swinging in your private hammock outside your cabin door. It's a short walk or bike ride into town ( each cabins comes with two). I can't wait to return to caye caulker and I wouldn't stay anywhere else! Thank you Colin and your staff for another unforgettable vacation... I will see you again soon

    Kathy2015-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Juan went above & beyond to accommodate us. We loved how the location was close to everything yet felt secluded. The private pier was awesome! It was so convenient to have bikes!!

    Thea2016-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Colinda's was my favorite spot on Caye Caulker! Our Cabana was adorable and comfortable. Our hosts were always available when needed. The view from the dock was amazing! And we made good use of the bicycles. We had a wonderful time staying here.

    Meg2017-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Colinda Cabanas is a great place to stay on Caye Caulker, probably the best. We had cabana#8, the furthest from the sea but still had enough sea breeze on the porch to make it comfortable. It is a small cabana but had all the things to make it comfortable - several fans, reading lights, a clock on the wall. Having the use of bicycles is a big plus - Colinda is far enough away to insure it's quietness but just a quick bike ride into town. The hammocks and chairs on the dock made a great place for hanging out. Colin is a great host. He knows the island well and can make great recommendations for food and things to do. We hope to get back to Caye Caulker soon and will definitely stay at Colinda Cobanas.

    Maureen2013-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • The worst thing about staying at Colinda Cabanas for us was leaving. Colin and Linda were wonderful and made us feel welcomed and spoiled. Their hospitality and staff made our visit extra special. The cabanas were very clean and the housekeeping staff was attentive and made up our rooms each day. It is a easy breezy walk or bike up the beach to town for meals. With a fridge in the room you should pick up some fresh fruit juice so you can enjoy it out on the dock. Colinda keeps an ear open for the best deals for their guests. If you need a snorkel trip or a tip on where to eat, they can help. We rented a golf cart the first day we were there. It wasn’t necessary but it was fun to bomb around and get a feel for the place. We used the drop off laundry service at Jasmine. For $8 our clothes were washed, dried and folded while we swam at the Split. The beach area is limited on Caye Caulker. For many the Split is the place to go but we preferred being out of the hustle on Colinda’s private dock. The deck chairs and hammocks make it a great place to hang out and read/catnap. We can tell you all about how friendly, well ran and clean it was, but what we can’t really explain is the Colinda magic. There seems to be something in the air there that we can’t wait to return to. Colin and Linda pour their heart into their cabanas and it shows (Website hidden by Airbnb)

  • Linda and Colin were amazingly friendly. As soon as we arrived we felt at home. Linda sat us down with a very handy map and marked all the places we might want to go as well as her recommendations. Additionally, the cabanas come with a bike per person-- super convenient on the island since everyone gets around on bikes. Also, there were plenty of snorkel masks for anyone to use and 2 kayaks that you could use anytime. The cabana was cleaned daily and the perfect size. There were also cooking utensils and a burner and small fridge. We were very, very comfortable. The manager of the cabanas was also extremely nice and helped us set up the grill so we could cook some freshly caught fish we had purchased. Overall it was amazing and we highly recommend it.

  • Our stay at Colinda's was the highlight of our vacation! Loved how thoughtful & clean the cabanas were. The bikes were clutch as we took the all around the island every day. As our vacation went on we spent more of our days right at the cabana & peer. It had such a lovely breeze, was quiet, and we happily lazed around in the hammocks. Coffee & grinder for the AM is such a great touch. It is clear that the staff work hard. Our stay was for 8 days in cabana #8. I appreciated the change of towels & sheets & daily cleaning. Set in the palms, the place was just so comfortable. I would recommend to everyone vacationing on Caye Caulker!!!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Colinda's. The location was perfect. It was quiet and an easy bike ride to town and the bikes provided made it easy to get anywhere on the island. The cabana was nice and well-kept and we enjoyed the privacy and intimacy of the location in the back of the property. Linda and Colin made the experience fantastic and provided a lot of good info on where to find good food and where to go to book snorkeling and Mayan ruin tours. The staff was friendly and fun to talk to. Staying at Colinda's was one of our favorite parts about Caye Caulker, so much so that we extended our stay. We will definitely be back to Caye Caulker and wouldn't stay anywhere else!

  • The room is exactly as shown in the pictures. The mattress is to soft, probably needs a change, but it was a great stay

  • The room we got was nice and spacy, but the walls were paper thin so every single sound from the surrounding rooms got through. Although the toilet was technically its own room, the top was open so it was kind of… awkward. Breakfast wasn't included in the price of the room, and it wasn't very good. The pool area was nice (and there's a pool bar), the staff was friendly and very helpful with everything like organizing tours etc. The center of San Ignacio was only a short walk away, which was perfect.

  • Absolutely enjoyed our 3 nights here. My sister and I traveled together and found this place a home away from home. It was very clean and tidy. Obtained clean fresh towels every day. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The place is close to everything yet you still feel disconnected from the hustle and bustle from the small town center. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to travel with comfort and ease. I'm looking forward to coming back. Thank you for making our experience delightful. =)

  • A+! Everything was fantastic! Everything was even better than expected. The room was completely as promised, clean, cool (ac), quiet (except for the amazing sound of jungle birds in the morning) and comfortable. Never had a prob with bugs in my room...and I was worried about that. I was in cottage one just behind the main building. Midas is conveniently located to town but secluded also. I feel like everyone takes a cab if it's more than a two min walk but I found it close and convenient. The staff was very helpful and helped me with all my arrangement including a last min flight to Caye Caulker upon check out. Thanks for everything Midas! I'll be back again most definitely!

  • The cabine was not clean. They did not clean the bathroom the 2nd day, they did not give us 2 towels. We had 2 beds, they removed the bed sheets and put back only 1 new. The other bed was left without bedsheet. The breakfast is very good and ppl are nice. The location is good, very close drive from the center and farmers market.

    Laura2018-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very good location. Walking distance to San Ignacio downtown. We stayed in luxury unit in the main building. It was newly built or remodeled, had fresh paint, nice wooden floors, new bathroom any good air conditioning. However, it lacked basic amenities: no shelving, drawers or closets to put or hang you clothes and personal b longings. We had keep everything in our suitcases. The table lamp, torch lamp and fridge arrived on the last day of our stay.

    Vidas2015-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Midas Resort is a great place to hang out, meet people and still get to experience the culture of San Ignacio. The grounds are beautiful and our stay in the cottage was comfortable and more than we needed! Thanks for a great stay Midas!

    Lisa2017-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We really liked our stay. The resort is within walking distance to the town center with all the restaurants and shops. We were not in one of the round huts, but in a square one. It was fairly basic but clean. You do get an air-conditioner and a tv with American stations. The pool was nice, but they might use a little too much chlorine. All in all, affordable, great location, basic needs met.

  • A lovely cabana on the beach. Ty and Jacob are very nice and helpful. We would recommend this place to everyone.

    Maureen2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beach Cabanas Village Inn was an cozy private place to stay on the beach. The area is very quiet and the pictures are very accurate. Everyone was very helpful and very fast to respond. Jay was very friendly and kind. The cabanas are a quick ten minute walk on the beach to all the restaurants/bars.

    Christine2015-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Cheyenne & I were so happy with our stay at the Village Inn. Tyron was incredibly kind & helpful. The cabanas were right on the beach, clean, & offered us plenty of privacy. I cannot recommend them enough. Very close walk to the Village; which has great cafes & restaurants. Truly everything you'd want in a Belize vacation.

    Brendan2018-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • The cabana was exactly what I wanted and how it was described. Wonderful location, and Tyrone was very helpful. He also did a great job cleaning up the cabana during our stay. Love how close we were to the water and just a short walk or bike ride into town. Definitely would love to go back.

    Teresa2016-05-15T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I just returned from visiting Placencia and we had a great time at the Village Inn. We rented the bluish cabana on the water. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. We took advantage of the bicycles and rode to the town ( 5 min.) everyday. The location was perfect for us - it was quiet with just the sound of the waves. The onsite host, Jacob, helped make sure we had a great time by checking in daily to see if we needed anything. There was even a hot shower and the kitchen worked to cook a few dinners:) We would definitely return and rent at the Village Inn.

    Dawn Marie2015-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous place, lovely cabanas and a great family running them. Would thoroughly recommend any property at the Village Inn

    Helen2014-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the place. Jacob and Veronique (more so Jacob, only because we saw him more) were incredibly helpful and genuinely interested in us having a good time. Jacob was literally one of the nicest people I've ever met...super cool guy. They were both very quick to recommend all sorts or things to do and the best way to do them. The house was great...internet wasn't really happening, but who goes to Belize for the net? The house itself was great. Plenty of room if you don't have a lot of people, and the beach is RIGHT THERE. So yea...I'd definitely recommend it, no question. And I'd recommend visiting Belize as a destination too. (Just be careful of the speed bumps FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.)

    Josh2014-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Placencia before way too far from town so this time we picked a closer spot and the Village Inn proved to be exactly what we wanted. Close to town (beautiful 15min walk) and on the beach. We aren't the resort types - we loved the feeling of 'living local' we had there. We could cook, grill or walk to one of Placencia's many great eating joints (Dawn's!!). Jacob (the owner) stopped by several times and visited with us and made us feel at home with his easy going attitude. Tyrone was always busy around the area keeping the beach looking nice and seeing if there was anything we needed. If we saw him in town we would always speak to us - gentle and friendly guy. You could tell they were invested in making sure our stay was without error while not hovering over us. It was as if the cabin was OUR house and they were our friendly neighbors. As far as other reviews about the fans and no AC - I didn't book a trip to Belize to sit inside under an air conditioner. If we got too hot, we walked 50' and got in the ocean. Simple. Efficient. And Free. At night, the fans did their job and cooled us down while we plotted the next day's adventures. The price paid considering the proximity to town (no car rental costs), the location (RIGHT on the Caribbean), and the total relaxed unpretentious vibe of the place made the Village Inn perfect for us. I really can't say enough good things about it. We will be booking this place again and learn how to grill lobster...on a beautiful beach next to super cute cabins.

In the northern district of Orange Walk, we are midway between Belize City and the border city of Chetumal, Mexico to the north (one hour drive in either direction). Premium cabin #11 is 1 of several units on 6 acres of riverside property pm the banks of the tranquil New River. Open walls & semi private bedrooms; an 8 minute drive from Orange Walk Town. Cabin #11 is part of a 2 story duplex. Kitchen, breakfast bar, living room, loft, large porch. 1 queen bed, 1 double bed, 1 futon
Cabin #11 is one of several cabins on 6 acres on the banks of the New River. The layout is open with very few walls. The first bedroom is on the ground floor and is separated from the living room by a large dresser made of Granadillo wood. The second bedroom is upstairs in the loft with an open view to the kitchen and living room downstairs. Both floors have a verandah that face the New River. The cabin has a kitchen, breakfast bar, living room, loft, large porch. 1 queen bed, 1 double bed.
  • This place is right on the New River in Orange Walk. The directions given got us there no problem. The space was larger than expected and clean. We took the recommendation of booking the Lamanai tour through this place and we could not recommend it enough. It is a must do if you stay here! The food at the bar and grill was alright and moderately priced, but it was also unexpectedly closed Monday which left us hungry after our tour. Also, bring bug spray as, again, you are right on the river! I would recommend this place for a short stay in Orange Walk and definitely for anyone looking to tour Lamanai.

    Haley2018-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • These cabins are luxurious! Roomy, ours had a full kitchen with stove, microwave, coffee maker and toaster, along with pots, pans and dishes. We appreciated having salt, pepper, cooking oil, a few spices and even coffee supplied as well. The river just steps outside the door was great for bird and iguana watching, and the trip to Lamanai by boat left from the same site and was a great way to spend a day.

    Kathe2018-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • The river cabins are beautiful, at a beautiful spot along the river. Orlando and his staff are great hosts. It was easy to arrange taxis, shuttles and the Lamani river trip. Thei river trip to Lamani is a fairly long and breezy boat ride. The boatman stops frequently to point out wildlife. The Mayan ruins are impressive.

  • Everything was beyond my highest expectations. If I could put 10 stars I would!

  • One word ROMANTIC, is what comes to mind. Our room was beautiful and just so comfortable. My husband and I loved it here. The restaurant the they have on the property makes amazing food and the staff is very attentive. We would definitely come back !

    Noel2016-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay with Orlando, his communication was superb as he helped us with a timeline to see everything we wanted to see. We arrived later than expected but a member of the staff was there for us upon arrival. Orlando checked in with us later to see if we needed anything. This type of one on one attention was appreciated. Orlando's cabins are very nice with upgrades you wouldn't expect such as granite countertops. Situated on the banks of the new river it is peaceful and quiet. There is also a nice restaurant on site. The parenting hotel is where the complementary breakfast is served and where the tours are booked. There is transportation offered for convenience. We would stay here again.

    Brendon2017-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Orlando was very helpful in describing the house and sleeping arrangements beforehand. Unfortunately I had to cancel but Orlando has been very helpful in the entire process of booking/cancelling! If I ever return to Belize, I will for sure stay here! Orlando also provides boat tours to Lamanai for a very reasonable price! Great host with fast communication. I wish I could have actually stayed!

The simple kitchen has everything you need for turning fresh ingredients into delicious meals, while the living room provides the perfect place for lounging with the free WiFi. This home for two rests at the end of a quiet grassy road by Caye Caulker's back bay. You're only a few moments away from the warm waters of the Caribbean and sandy shores ideal for sunbathing, but there's more to Caye Caulker than the beach. Walk or ride a bike or golf cart downtown to explore colorful shopping and dining, or set up a diving or snorkeling adventure thanks to the tour offices!
  • My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Miss Ella's Guest House. It's a cool space by the water, with all the necessary amenities you need (and then some). Includes a great balcony for watching the sun set and it's a short walk/bike to all the action in Caye Caulker.

    Matthew2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our host Esmeralda did a wonderful job. We were asking her if she could organize a Grill for us, she really tryed hard... on christmasday she organized us a taxi, which was probably also not easy to find. Thanks a lot On the picture from the add the interior looks much more colorful than it really is. If your sitting outside you will her the noise of the electricpowerstation which nearby, you can't see them but hear them well. It's great to get around with bikes, Esmeralda (again) made it possible, but they cost extra. The house is close to the water and you will see a wonderful sunset.

  • If I could rate this 6/5 stars, I absolutely would. Louise is hands down THE BEST HOST we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. We booked the Cabana only one day in advance (late night the day before) and Louise got back to us immediately. We were having trouble finalizing the stay through the Airbnb app and were worried about not getting the Cabana, but Louise was waiting for us out front making sure we found our way! Her property is immaculate and SO stunningly gorgeous. Surrounding the Cabanas are incredibly cute decorations and plants/trees, and there are multiple outdoor areas (lit up) to relax in, as well as a super cute bar-like area to hang out in. The cabanas are more than spacious and spotlessly clean - Louise also makes sure that you have more than enough of any amenities that you could require. Her location is close enough to everything that you can walk (although she provides great complimentary bikes with locks for when you go out) but the Cabanas are farther back on the property so you have privacy and there isn't any street noise bothering you. All of the amenities listed on Airbnb (A/C, hot/cold water, wifi, etc...) are very accurate and in great condition. Louise also will let you know about all of the island activities, places to eat, things to do, etc. On top of all of this, Louise and her husband are the nicest, sweetest most helpful people we have met on the island (and that's saying something!). We left some souvenirs in the Cabana on accident, and Louise not only tracked us down to our next spot (which we wouldn't have gone to if we hadn't already made reservations, we would have stayed with Louise) but rode down herself to us with our things to personally make sure we received them. Louise's property is gorgeous, cozy, clean, and genuinely everything that you possibly could ask for... and that has nothing on how amazing Louise and her husband are. Without any doubt, we will be staying with Louise every single time we visit Caye Caulker in the future... Hands down the BEST hosts and greatest place to stay on Caye Caulker. If you are able to book one of the three Cabanas here, DO IT. Louise's hospitality will genuinely make your stay on Caye Caulker 100x better.

    Alyssa2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is the best Airbnb I have ever been to . Louise is very helpful and the place is beautiful. It's off the beaten path yet close to everything. 5 Stars all around!

  • Dorsethea Louise was a wonderful host. She kept our bungalow spotless and was very helpful on things to see and do. The location is close to many great restaurants and walking distance to the water taxis. One point of concern was the dogs barking at night but i think that is an issue wherever you stay on Caye Caulker.

    Barrie And Charlene2018-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Louise is exceptionally helpful. Her place is a great location to chill or access all restaurants, activities and activities on Caye Caulker. Loved the hammock!

    Nancy2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • His was incredible! Louise greeted us when we arrived, offered tips for the town, gave fresh towels and cleaned daily and had bikes available to make travelling around the island easy. The area was safe and close to the main strip. Couldn't have asked for a better experience! Would HIGHLY recommend staying there.

  • Great little spot away from the busy parts for catching some Z's but still close enough to walk to everything. Great suggestions on things to do from Dorsethea and I love, love, loved our private patio (with hammock!). I will say that the beds were quite hard, which for me is fine, but just so others know who might be accustomed to a fluffier bed. Overall, a lovely stay!

  • Great little cottage. The having the bikes are great to get around the island. And the pool was very relaxing.

  • My boyfriend and I very much enjoyed our 5-night stay at Hummingbird Purple. It was absolute bliss! Though away from all the hustle and bustle, it was only a lovely 5-10 minute bike ride/walk to the main part of town. It is also within walking distance to the airport. Keep in mind that Caye Caulker is a small island, so it really doesn't take long to get anywhere really. Located on the upper level, this place has AC, WiFi internet, a kitchen, and a pool that is shared with three other Hummingbird units. The bed was comfy and the stained glass windows are beautiful! We were provided with complimentary bikes w/locks, mobile phone w/credit, and drinking water. Communication with the host and her staff was excellent. They answered all my questions in a timely manner. We were also able to arrange golf car taxis when needed. Definitely recommend staying here and hope to be back soon!

    Edeline2015-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay here was great! There was a taxi waiting at the water dock to start it off, and the phone was there if we needed anything. I loved that the place was set back and surrounded by trees. The pool was amazing and the bikes were great for getting everywhere. I would definitely stay here again!

    Stephanie2016-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic sums it all up. Bobbi's place was about 5 mins from the strip and she was very helpful w anything we needed. Bike's and kayaks for the win! Bobbi helped us out w a later checkout to fit our departure schedule, which was a life saver. A++ for Bobbi and hummingbird purple.

    Parker2016-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • I can't recommend Brenda's highly enough - beautifully decorated, clean, spacious, wonderfully helpful staff and all the mod cons you could need! We arrived at a quiet time and seeing our larger group, Brenda very kindly upgraded us to the more spacious Pool House rather than the Hummingbird Purple we had originally booked, so the veranda right onto the pool area was a real treat! Caye Caulker is a small island so from Brenda's into the main town it's a lovely walk along the waterside or a cheap + quick buggy ride. The neighbours bake fresh cinnamon and coconut bread so be sure to try it if you stay!

  • Nice place and the bicycles were our main transportation. Very accommodating. Walking distance to the airport.

  • Absolutely fantastic place. Everything was perfect, from pick up at the dock to our departure, and Bobbie was a great host. Everything was provided to make us comfortable - a taxi arranged, cell phone, a nice map of the area, fresh drinking water, bikes to get around with.. awesome! An easy bike ride (or even walk) to town or the beach. Space is very comfortable, clean, spacious, and nice and airy, with all the necessary amenities, great kitchen for cooking meals at home, lovely pool. We had a nice, peaceful, quiet stay on the island - a much needed rest and refuel. Thank you Bobbie & crew!

Half price paddle boards and kayaks rental also.
The second bedroom and bathroom are detached so you have added privacy. There is also a screened in hammock area, so you can relax and read without mosquitoes bothering you.
  • My fiance and I loved Hummingbird Pink. Brenda arranged a taxi for us upon arrival to drive us from the water taxi. There she greeted us and showed us the place. Bikes were provided and we used the entire 5 days we were there to get around Caye Caulker. The cottages are cozy and the pool was great. Good location, not far from main streets but quiet. Would definitely recommend staying here!

  • We had a wonderful weekend in Brenda's charming cottage.

    Anne2016-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Easy check in and great communication from host. Property has access to pool, bikes and kayaks! It's in walking or biking distance to main section of the island. More than happy with our stay.

    Sara2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The cabana was far enough away from the split that it was very private yet close enough to walk bike or taxi in just minutes. The cabanas were clean and comfortable and fully equipped. The pool was great!! The staff was polite and very helpful. Enjoyed every minute and intend to go back and will definitely stay here again!!!

    Dalyn2017-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • From the very beginning, Brenda has been incredibly responsive! My brother and I stayed at Hummingbird Pink and it worked perfectly for us! He stayed in the 'main' house and I stayed in the smaller unit with just a bedroom and bathroom. Aside from the rock hard bed (which I expect when travelling), I loved the room. Bring a soft pillow if you need one. The pillows are also a bit firm for my liking. The a/c was a definite necessity on those hot, humid nights. The area was VERY quiet and I slept peacefully every night we were there (and I am a very light sleeper). I apparently missed the memo that Brenda could arrange for a taxi from the airport to the water taxi terminal, but please do ask her to do that for you. FYI - taxis from BZE are a standard US$25 for 1-2 people or $10/person for 3 or more. We were supposed to have a taxi waiting for us when we reached CC, but we didn't (probably because I requested it kind of last minute). However, Selvin (a taxi driver), spotted us looking lost and asked if he could give us a ride. When we told him where we were staying, he knew exactly where to go. He is INCREDIBLE and I recommend you ask for him when Brenda arranges your taxi in CC. On a related note, you will have to pick up the keys from the main strip and the house is "way over there" according to locals (which translates to a 10-15 minute walk), so I very much recommend a taxi when you arrive. You can either use one of the bikes Brenda provides or just walk to town once you're settled. We used the bikes at first but then realized it was just as easy to walk (and our bums were not cut out for the bicycle seats and bumpy roads :-)). This may be common knowledge (I wasn't aware) - make sure you bring soap with you or buy some at the local store. Brenda provides hotel-sized shampoo and conditioner, but no soap. Showers offer hot water, but I never needed to go past the midway point between hot and cold - it was way too hot and humid outside for hot showers! The cell phone Brenda provides was a BIG help... especially when we got lost on our first night just to find out we were literally a block away from the house. Luckily, she knew exactly where we were and told us how to get home. Pay close attention to landmarks when being driven to the house or heading to front street from the house because most people don't know where the Hummingbird Cottages are. Very pleased with our stay and would definitely stay at one of Brenda's places again if I get a chance to go back.

  • We had a great stay in Hummingbird - the shared pool is fantastic & the rooms are as shown in pictures. The bathrooms are really great & it's a perfect fit for up to four people. Would recommend!

    Sarah2017-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time staying at the Hummingbird Pink, and it was just as amazing as we remembered. There were even some upgrades made: new fridge and stove/oven, and there was a new screened-in area on the deck with hammocks. Extra bonus was the new French restaurant across the street - yum :) Thanks to Heidi for the excellent service.

    Juliann2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • It was great having taxi service awaiting for our arrival, as well as having Heidi greeting us at the cottages. The cottages were clean and had everything to make the stay comfortable. If ever we needed anything, the response was immediate.

Clean and modern rooms with AC, ceiling fan, solar heated showers, LED TV, fridge and coffee maker. Free WIFI. Just one block away from the beach. Located 4 minutes from Hopkins Village and surrounded by small hotels, restaurants and tour operator.
We offer 4 standard rooms with double beds, all new fresh and colorful. These rooms come with double beds with new orthopedic mattresses. Each room has its private bathroom with, eco friendly, solar heated showers. We also have 3 romantic private cabanas with a queen size bed, ideal for couples. The cabanas also come with amenities like television, AC and mini fridge.
We are located just outside Hopkins Village (about 2 miles away), a very quiet and relaxing fisherman's Village. If you are expecting exciting nightlife and the hustle and bustle of a large tourist destination like say for example Cancun, don't come to Hopkins, you won't like it. However if you like good, fishing, diving, snorkeling, river tours, waterfall hiking and jungle tours, quiet beaches and surprisingly good restaurants for a small place like Hopkins is, then Hopkins will be your place! We think our area offers the perfect balance between an unspoiled laid back Carib-Belizean feeling with enough added amenities to make your stay very pleasant and relaxing.
  • We had a wonderful experience at the Cosmopolitan. Our room was modern and clean and comfortable. The cable TV came in handy on a rainy day, as did the wifi. We enjoyed using the bicycles to ride into the village for meals (about 1.5 miles), and it was an extra bonus being able to use the beachfront lounge chairs at Parrot Cove just down the street. Rob and Corrie are gracious hosts -- they even gave us a ride south to Placencia after we checked out since they were headed that way. If you're looking for something affordable with all the amenities, look no further!

    Christine2015-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect at Robs place, the room was clean and comfortable for all 4 days we were there. Yoli, who works at the front desk at a nearby hotel (that manages this property also) was amazing. She had numerous tip and ideas for things to do and arranged transportation for us. One of the best experiences I've had on vacation! Thanks again Rob and Yoli! Ps Rob is the main chef down the street that everyone should try, it was excellent.

    Jason2015-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at COSMO our first few nights in Belize. Corrie was very responsive and made sure that we had a ride from the airport to Hopkins and was available for recommendations and travel information. We stayed in one of the "Cabana's" by the mini pool. The accommodations are affordable, up to date, clean and bright! Corrie had Bikes available for us throughout our stay allowing us to get around town easily. Our stay was great, our only comment is that the shower really didn't get hot. Other than that minor detail the stay was perfect. Thank you! - Kate & Paul

  • I really enjoyed staying at Cosmopolitan Guesthouse! I stayed in a Bungalow (5, pictured across from the pool) which was spacious and clean and right outside the pool, which I really enjoyed! The Cosmopolitan Guesthouse is located outside the main Hopkins Village (15 minutes walking). There are bikes to use for exploring the area. The beautiful beach is across the street with easy access. There are a few shops and restaurants only 5 minutes away walking if you don't feel like going into the Village. Rob and Corri are great hosts - very personable and knowledgeable. Yoli is a gem and assisted me with travel arrangements when I left.

    Jyll2014-12-30T00:00:00Z

  • A beautiful and friendly place to stay in a family friendly village that caters to adventure tourists. Tip: fly into dangriga airport.

    Christina2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • We were happy with the accommodations at Cosmopolitan Guest House. The rooms were very clean and the grounds were clean and quiet. We didn't have much time to interact with Rob, but met him on our last day as we were trying to figure out how to get to Belize City. He was on his way but took time to immediately help us get a cab and a flight from Drangiga. It was perfect timing. I would definitely stay here again.

    Megan2016-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn't get in the day we booked for two days. Arrived a day later. Though when we arrived the host was helpful and nice but the place lack a touch of ambiance. The only thing I would recommend is that the pool is a little too small and it needs a lot of lights surrounding the premises. Throw some Christmas lights around the yard, that will definitely bring out the character. The host and hotel does not accommodate any taxi or transfer services, once you get to the beach side of Hopkins you seriously feel stuck. We had to find our own taxi service by calling. It's an hotel, they should accommodate or at least have a few list ready for guest who are brand new to Belize. Other than that the room and place is quite unique and lovely.

Family-owned for several generations, we have been providing a unique "Home Away From Home" holiday for guests from around the world for over 15 years! Come stay with us in our cozy private cottages, nestled in a 400-acre working farm.
*Note: This is one of two Air BnB listings we have. This listing is for a private room with two double beds; the other listing ("Organic Farm Stay in Cozy Cottages") is for a private room with two large beds that can sleep up to 4 adults if 2 people share a bed. Both rooms have private bathrooms. There are a series of 10 unique and comfortable cottages, each with two bedrooms that can accommodate single travelers or groups. There is also a large dining area and veranda, as well as an enclosed indoor studio and large yard spaces. The property surrounding our cottages is a working farm with domestic cattle and horses, as well as beautiful wild birds and a host of organic fruits and vegetables.
Our cottages are located about a 10 minute drive away from the popular Xunantunich Mayan ruins. Other nearby ruins include Caracol, El Pilar, ATM Cave and more. Every weekend, there is a farmer's market that happens in downtown San Ignacio and makes for a great activity for visitors. There are also other attractions such as a butterfly farm, cave tubing, visiting the Belize Zoo, and more.
  • Well, first I would like to say this is rustic. But it is a farm, so I expected it. The rooms are very basic, but the location, the views, and the hosts that run it made this like a 5 star experience. We LOVED them. They are the nicest people you could ever meet. Santiago and Terry and everyone go above and beyond and out of their way to do all for you. The food is great too. Got to say it was the best of our entire trip in Belize and we went to a half dozen other places in the month. I highly recommend this.

    Michael2017-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely time at the farm. Santiago and the rest of the crew were very hospitable and the room was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed walking around the property and the hike to the ruins at the top of the hill. Santiago was wonderful to talk to, full of advice and knowledge. This was, by far, our favourite experience we had while on our trip. Fantastic! Would go back in a heartbeat. We recommend this farm stay. You will not be disappointed.

    Dana2015-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We were in cottage 3 at Nabitunich. It was nice to stay on the farm away from San Ignacio. We enjoyed seeing the birds, farm animals and other wildlife everyday. Santiago and his staff are very friendly and as mentioned by others the food is great. If you plan to drive around the Cayo I would recommend getting a Jeep or something with 4WD. Came in handy for us.

    Christopher2015-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • The experience was AMAZING. It was the best Airbnb ever. Not only the place is wonderful, but the food is also great, healthy, fresh and delicious, and the best part of staying there is the owner: Santiago! He is very intelligent, an incredible person to talk for hours. I advise everyone to go know his place and mainly him. Enjoy the farm noises, cows, crickets, birds. Enjoy the emerald green river 5 minutes away and go on a hike until Xunantunich Ruins 45 minutes from there. Enjoy the amazing food and stay at the table for two more hours after the dinner only chatting with him. I am sure that you will never regret and will leave there with a lot more information about the world than you imagined. I will definitely go back.

    Amanda2015-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great. Very beautiful property and people. We'll be back!

    Katie2018-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts. Santiago is really great to interact with and really wants you to enjoy the area and will go above and beyond. Its a couple minutes outside of town and he was nice enough to get a taxi for us. Beautiful location the farm is amazing. Definitely get the food option to eat there is super affordable and so good! Terry was great and really made us feel comfortable.

    Anna2016-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay at Hanna Stables (Suzi's place). It was by far one of the highlights of our trip. Santiago and Terry were great hosts. It was convenient being so close to so many attractions: Xunantunich, ATM Caves, San Ignacio and the horse tours on the property. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. We will definitely stay here when we go back to Belize.

    Matthew2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Hanna Stables is a rustic gem with an incredible view. You can see Xunantunich high upon the mountain. Toucans fly through the trees and howler monkeys howl in the mountains. We had great Belizean food and enjoyed the horseback ride to the Mayan ruins. Thank you Santiago and Suzi, for making this beautiful place available to us! We’ll be back!

Cabin 14 is a rustic standard riverside cabin for a couple. The bed and dresser are made of local hardwood harvested on site. Quiet area with a private porch and view of the New River.
Cabin 14 is a stand alone cabin ideal for couples or friends that don't mind sharing a bed. It's an open floor plan with a queen sized bed. The room is equipped with a mini fridge, toaster, microwave, 32" cable TV, and coffee maker (and coffee, sugar, creamer), and most importantly, air conditioning! The cabin is in front of the New River with a private porch and its own hammock. Kick back and enjoy views of the New River, iguanas, crocodiles, hummingbirds, and even the occasional sugar barge. The bathroom has a semi-private, frosted glass door.

    Erika2018-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • We were unable to meet Mr. Orlando but met his lovely wife Ms. Cyndi who facilitated check-in and gave us a few tips. She highly recommend the lamanai tour and it was a great experience! The room itself was absolutely lovely, well cared for, clean, and stylish! We had everything we needed! Upon dining at Maracas we were complimentary given the house drink- which is possibly the most delicious drink I've ever tried! The food at Maracas was exceptional! We came prepared for a bug attack but didn't even see a single mosquito on site! We are so grateful and highly recommend these cabins!

  • This is my second time staying at this lovely cabana and I absolutely cannot recommend it enough. As you arrive at the beautiful property you are greeted by the very friendly staff at Maracas. After check in you are offered a delicious complementary drink (house drink is my absolute favorite). The room is lovely and looks exactly like the images. The restaurant is amazing and reasonably priced, and the view is spectacular. The price is unbeatable. Will definitely come back soon. Xoxo

  • Very incredible place. The cabin was perfect for me and my wife. I would suggest to anyone else staying here to take them up on the river trip down to the Mayan ruins well worth the money! It was amazing! The cabin itself was very clean, the property is beautiful and the staff were very friendly!

    James2018-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place! Our cabin wad quaint, comfortable, clean, and had all right amenities. Communication with Orlando and his professional team was fast and thorough. Maracas Restaurant had delicious food with good portions, good drinks, and great service, all on the beautiful New River. We also took the Lamanai tour with them. Also, amazing! Our guide, Ignacio Jr and his team, gave a professional yet personable experience. I highly recommend this place!
