“Driving up in to the Waitakere ranges gives some scenic views all the way back to Auckland. This is a lovely area of rainforest walks, including the Fairy falls. The Aarataki visitor center is worth a visit if you're in the area. The Waitakere dam walk is also well worth doing.”

“Mount Hobson was created into a Domain for the betterment of the People of Auckland, New Zealand under the 1882 Domains Act by the local people of Remuera - the Flowers including Periwinkle, Blue Blues, Cinerias, African Iris were all gifted by David Hay and Son who had Montpellier Nursery, Seaview Road, Remuera in the 1880's. See if you can find the Honey Bees hive on Mount Hobson!! Mount Hobson used to have Alderney Cattle grazing on it in 1906. Horses used to stop and drink water from the troughs on the way through Auckland. Sheep also grazed on there as did Peter Linton's family's cows up until some senseless, uneducated people decided they know better about New Zealand's history.”
