“Robert Burns is Scotlands National Bard (Poet). The Robert Burns Museum is located in his birthplace of Alloway Village which adjoins Ayr to the South. As well as the Museum there is also Burns Cottage, where he was born, Burns Monument with it's beautiful gardens,the Brig O' Doon which featured in one of his most famous poems, Tam O' Shanter and the Auld Kirk ruins where his parents are buried (and rumoured to be haunted). If you are ready for a refreshment the Burns Monument Hotel offers food and drink at reasonable prices.”

“Well known locally, Scott's is a nice place to go for a spot of lunch or dinner in the evening. The atmosphere is relaxing and ambient. There is a good choice of food on the main menu, as well as a light lunch and separate children's selection. The restaurant is licensed and provide a wide selection of wines, beers and spirits. There is also an outdoor dining area which on a summer's evening is perfect.”
