Cementerio
“The Père Lachaise cemetery takes its name from King Louis XIV's confessor, Father François d'Aix de La Chaise. It is the most prestigious and most visited necropolis in Paris. Situated in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, it extends 44 hectares and contains 70,000 burial plots. The cemetery is a mix between an English park and a shrine. All funerary art styles are represented: Gothic graves, Haussmanian burial chambers, ancient mausoleums, etc. On the green paths, visitors cross the burial places of famous men and women; Honoré de Balzac, Guillaume Apollinaire, Frédéric Chopin, Colette, Jean-François Champollion, Jean de La Fontaine, Molière, Yves Montand, Simone Signoret, Jim Morrison, Alfred de Musset, Edith Piaf, Camille Pissarro and Oscar Wilde are just a few.”

“Farmer’s market open everyday except Monday’s. Ends at 1pm. Very local. I prefer the Bastille farmers market but this one is also nice if the other market is closed. ”

“La Maroquinerie's former life as a leather factory is little in evidence these days. It's now a bright café and bar in competition with La Bellevilloise, with a coveted downstairs concert venue that hosts the odd literary debate and a wealth of cool music acts. It's home to the Inrocks Indie Club nights, but there are still traces of its world music roots. The food is excellent - you can eat your way through the menu quite reasonably for around €25 - and wine sourced from across France starts at €3 a glass. The interior, with exposed brick, is cosy, and in summer chirpy locals invade the shaded terrace.”

“A clean and simple modern restaurant with an open kitchen, Little Hanoï is a breath of fresh asian air. Delicately scented dishes arrive on your table still steaming, fresh out of the oven and free from MSG – huge salads, bo bun, pho, beef with onions and much more. There are some nice touches, like the mint leaves in the water carafe, and the excellent egg rolls and deep-fried prawns that can be ordered by the piece (€1 and €0.90), and dishes costs around €10, with rice and vegetables included. There is a price, however: patience. You can’t reserve, so you’ll may have to queue, locals love to go there :) Monday to saturday, lunch and diner”

“Casual French cafe with patio dining serving traditional fare in stylish, airy environs. Friendly good value and tasty breakfast, lunch or dinner. Great happy hour drink. This bistrot is a drinking institution of the neighborhood. Outdoor seating. Live music some evenings.”

“My favorite thai restaurant in Paris. There is often a line outside, so best to either go early or late, and avoid weekends and rainy days. But it's worth it, because everything is absolutely delicious, and seems very authentic (I've never been to Thailand, so I can't be sure). It's a very busy restaurant but the staff is usually very friendly and efficient. ”
