“the best hot chocolate in the world (although it’s closer to drinking chocolate). Their pastries are also wonderful; I recommend eating breakfast there. You’ll probably need to reserve or else queue for ages, as this has blown up since I used to go as a student.”

“Best bakery of the neighborhood, I highly recommend this place for bread and breakfast :) My favorite is the "fève de cacao" and the "pain chocolat blanc et framboise" (withe chocolat and raspberry). Everything is organic.”

“One of the greatest chocolatiers in France, Jean-Paul Hévin, winner of the prestigious Meilleur Ouvrier de France competition, does simple chocolate cakes, but he does them perfectly. I absolutely love them, especially the Annapurna, which is seasonal and made with chestnuts. I could eat 10 of them. I particularly love the Saint-Honoré boutique, a cave of chocolates situated in the courtyard of an 18th century building in the center of town.”

“Terroirs d'Avenir has several shops in the Rue du Nil. All are equally worth a visit. The concept is that they offer high-quality products from local, sustainable sources (not all are organic, but they're local). The bakery has delicious bread, croissants etc. You can also find very good fruits and vegatables, cheese, meat and fish, etc. ”
