I appreciate this feedback immensely!
I want to begin my reply by introducing the fact that we just purchased this home, Decemb (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) .
We retained it, decor, guidelines, listing (even the phasing out of toilet paper) and all. So there are definitely little things we are striving to improve, from setting new guidelines for our cleaning crew, making sure supplies are left where they can be found; to bigger improvements such as, a major remodel set to begin as soon as this "El Nino", passes.
We are up in Big Bear from Orange County, every free moment. Switching things out, and updating what we can before guests check in on the weekends. Sometimes that means we stay for only 24 hours. Upgrading the TV's or dropping off a new area rug for the master. Considering the house has been rented every single weekend since we purchased it, It is our enthusiasm for our guests, and their experience in our home, that keeps us motivated and excited to upgrade small details as we go, and not wait for the remodel to provide the niceties.
As far as the guest count goes. It is a requirement from the city of Big Bear that each vacation rental be inspected annually. It is Big Bear that tells us how many guests we can accommodate, not the other way around. We have sleeping arrangements for 14 people that range from beds to sofa beds to roll away beds...not uncommon for vacation rentals in the Big Bear area. In the new design I have made it my personal mission to factor in "actual beds" into the plan (yep for 14), without making it look like a hospital stay, and maintaining privacy when smaller parties are inhabiting the space. It hasn't been easy, but I think we have come up with some really amazing, out of the box, solutions.
Yes! Our location is phenomenal!!! We know it! We're proud of it!
Aside from the homes extreme curb appeal, and unlimited potential, location was that little extra shove that made this home a must have for our family. Coupled with our unwavering commitment to excellence, and the comfort of our guests being our number one goal, location will keep us a triple threat considering we are a stones throw from Bear Mountain, Zoo, and Golf Course.
As an Interior Designer I can personally guarantee this house will be comfortable but spectacular.
My husband, the engineer, has got functionality and tech- saviness covered.
Our three little girls just want to have a kick butt place to play in the snow, and a to keep the windows in the loft that allow them to watch the deer from the zoo play while they sip hot cocoa-DONE!
So, we are getting there and appreciate the opportunity to work these things out via awesome guests who provide us with the feedback that will ultimately help us achieve our goals, and allow us to succeed.
Mike, I sincerely thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback and the thoughtful list of suggestions you personally sent me, to point us down the right path. I took them very seriously, implemented what I could, and welcome you, and your wonderful family, back (Website hidden by Airbnb) "E" ticket required :)
