Difficult .... this is my 10th Airbnb but the first time I needed to read the info about what to do if things weren't as expected. Blake has excellent reviews - he responds quickly, apartment is a good size and in a great location (quiet residential street but close enough to beach, bars, restaurants). We were visiting Sydney as a family - this apartment was for my 2 adult kids and their cousin. I know Bondi buildings can be old and not in the best shape. But this apartment was badly prepared and simply not clean - bathroom was filthy, linens were suspect, and there was rubbish everywhere from previous guests. After travelling half way round the world patience was short and their luggage was quickly removed....! Blake responded well, explained he'd used a different cleaner, got more cleaners in same day and delivered some brand new towels, linens etc to compensate. But even so, photos depicting fluffy white towels and toiletries are misleading - this apartment needs a serious overhaul, both cleaning and basic equipment. To avoid sounding like a 'sterile hotel' freak, I'm not listing all the issues - I've sent them just to Blake and I hope he takes it seriously. Bondi, of course, appeals to groups of young kids who maybe couldn't care but this apartment could also be perfect for couples and families expecting a higher standard. Blake appeared to take our complaints seriously so I hope he takes our well-meant advice the same way.
