Hilltop Balinese wooden 'joglo' house with gazebo overlooking a stream. So peaceful at night! You're well taken care of by "The Two Komangs" (Komang means "third-born in the family"): wife Komang is delightful and English-speaking; she is your excellent chef, cleaner and organizer extraordinaire! Her husband Komang handles gardening and security.
The area is called Payogan. It's a nice balance of being within five minutes of central Ubud by motorbike yet with a rural feeling of community blending local Balinese and Western abodes. The property has been in the Balinese landowner's family for generations. Directly across the street are a Balinese Hindu temple and the upscale Australian-owned Villa Saraswati.
I had this house built myself. A fun touch is that I commissioned Arifin to do a cats and fish mozaic on the terrace of the semi-exposed kitchen, and paint a 7-step ladder to the sleeping loft with a chakra on each step!
The bedroom has its own bathroom with hot and cold shower. There is a fan; air conditioning is not needed as the lot has plenty of trees and shade.
Terrace and kitchen are semi-exposed, Bali style.
There is a lovely outdoor balé (gasebo) for reading and relaxing. There is also a tent with air mattress and sleeping bag if anyone feels like camping :-D.
High-speed fiber optic wi-fi internet.
Parking area for one car or several motorbikes.
Disponible para huéspedes
Guests have access to the whole property other than my bedroom.
We share the kitchen.

I'm personally in and out of Bali. When there, I'm happy to be of service. And when I'm not, Komang, who is local, will be your hostess extraordinaire :-).
Selamat Datang! Means 'Welcome' in Bahasa Indonesia :-)
I am Komang. It means "third born". My husband is also Komang haha.
I am local Balinese woman. We women work hard. Wake up at dawn, go to market, make breakfast, perform offerings, go to work at the Cat and Fish Joglo mornings, rest one hour and eat lunch, then go to other job at Pyramids of Chi in Ubud afternoons and evenings. Come home, cook dinner for my family, perform offerings, go to sleep for a bit haha. Always busy, always happy :-D
I hope to meet you at The Cat and Fish Joglo. You have your own private big and nice room with king bed, sleeping loft for two and own bathroom with hot shower. It's nice and charming and quiet. And I make breakfast for you! Even lunch if you want. Just pay the ingredients haha. I cook Balinese style, Western, anything you like.
Mr Matthew rents the other room and is very nice. He can speak English, French, Indonesian and Chinese!
