Things need to be put right. I certainly did not expect you to clean the flat as you paid for cleaning, indeed. My complaint as you know very well, was about the joints of the tiling in the shower which you left full of black mould since as you mentionned yourself, you never cleaned them . You did tell me that in your own home, you clean your shower tiles only every 3 or 4 months, did you not ? The other thing was about the Tefal non-stick pan which was nearly new when you arrived and which had to be throwned away after your stay. That is the one thing you claimed you had not used. I wonder how it got so dirty then ! The third thing was the curtain in the bedroom which is badly ripped and need replacing . No wonder, you used to open the french window withouth opening the curtain though I had asked you in the past, to do so ! I may add that today, as my cleaning lady was cleaning the flat, we noticed that you have badly damaged one of the little tables in the lounge with a candle. The varnish is all melted but as you left the candle on the top I did not notice it before….. ! However , though I could have done so, I did not retain any money from your 1000 euros deposit. Many other owners would have retained something ! Also I did not even do a proper inventory of the cupboards, just had a quick look and checked the pans. So why do you tell people they should count everything ? Also, you left food in the fridge which I had to take to the dustbin. You should have done that !
As mentionned in the website, the cost for bed linen and towels is 30 euros for 2 people and not for 1 person as you said, for a queen size bed for the whole period. Then people look after the cleaning as there is a washing machine in the kitchen.!
When you arrived, I advised you to pay the legal deposit by bank transfer to my account but you refused and said you would rather pay cash . Your fault not mine ! But you were also worried to loose the money, though I gave you a proper receipt and noted it on the second contract which I wrote for you as the one from AIRBNB was not enough for you ! You did not trust AIRBNB either !
You complain we are far from everywhere ! Before coming here you stayed in Paris but decided to move to the country, so what do you expect , the metro in Mareil-Marly until 1 am, ?
The rental concerns an appartment, not a house with garden otherwise it would be mentionned in the advert. Many peple enjoy seating in our front garden which is full of rose trees and flower beds, and full of charm , not just a « courtroom » as you call it ! I would like to remind you that this is a private house not a hotel and therefore, we need our private areas. On the pictures on the advert, it does say : « view on the flowered gardens ». It does not say your garden ! Most appartments do not have anywhere to seat outside !
I was not aware that I should have taken my shoes off when entering the appartment. It is certainly not a custom in France but if you had asked me I would have done so !
Lastly. You were 24 hours without hot water because the boiler broke down. I was very upset and sorry about it. So, since you arrived one day earlier I did not charge you for the extra night and gave you free linen and towels. Also you stayed an extra 8 days in July. I should have charged you the weekly price 630 e + one night. Instead of that I charged you 464 euros (prorata of monthly price) . In the end and in total, I gave you a discount of 376 euros. I was obviously too nice to you and do not understand why I got so much nastyness from you …. ?
