What a lovely community living situation to happen upon during my travels! So glad to have met Alina and Julien and their kind volunteers, and experience the sweet space that they together maintain. The house is located in the quiet suburbs of KL, a 20 min (+/-) walk to grocery stores and restaurants. Getting around is easy enough if you are content to walk a bit, or use Grab or Uber to go farther. The hang out space is great for chatting with other guests, reading, writing, or watching afternoon thunderstorm pass; very relaxing and easy to feel at home. Next time I'm in the area, I will definitely return to Alina and Julien's place!

This was by far the best airbnb experience we have ever had. Alina and Julien went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. We got a taste of what it's like to live in KL as we shared meals and explored the city together. Truly amazing hosts! The house is beautiful in a great location. Cannot say enough good things. Would recommend and will definitely visit this amazing family again!

Alina and Julien were amazing hosts!!! After booking Alina was sending helpful travel tips and making herself available to answer any questions we had. My friends and I arrived on a late flight (2am) and the family was extremely welcoming. They have a beautiful open home. We switched to the 3 bed room which was beautiful; there were 3 bamboo beds that Julien hand made and a lovely balcony. We met a lot of their friends at a barbeque they hosted for the Holidays. All great people. Alina called taxis for us whenever we had plans to go out which helped a lot considering our phones weren't local. We spent the final day with the family eating local foods, hiking, swimming, and trying local fruits. Overall a great experience! We definitely left with new friends.

We spent 4 nights at Alina & Julien's place. The room was quite basic (one queen size mattress and two wall shelves) but ok for the price. Bathroom is shared. The atmosphere has a rather backpackerish feel to it including shared kitchen and an outdoor palett style hangout space. We shared drinks for Alina's birthdays and also enjoyed playing with their oldest 6yr old. It's about 15 RM to the city center via Grab. Recommend to Bring your ear plugs (call to prayer at about 4:30am just near by) and eye mask to block the light out. Good info from Julien about activities nearby. You could also organize tours with them. Friendly volunteers there, too :)

Pros: Out of the city, fresh air, no traffic noise. Jungle nearby, hikes available, common language with hosts, some tasty cooking, overall nice house. Cons: Noisy, as ceiling fan must be on full throttle to keep you cool, additionally there's a frog concert just outside. Combined bidet shower toilet and shower room is quite hard to accept for many travellers. No discipline. In summary: Good for hippies and parents with small children.

Respuesta de Alina & Julien:
This house is locally created, our house is hosted by a local, so basically this is a local territory on local grounds. We believe fans are the most natural ways to cool the house, if you prefer air conditioning, this place is not for you. Frogs are an addition to the house as it is nature's way of saying 'we have a healthy ground for living things aka amphibians. If you prefer artificial noises and/or quietness (man made) the city is available 15mins away. We do expect some guests to figure their travel ways, as we have other things to figure out for ourselves. Most of our guests have apps which are Uber, Grabcar depending on whether you have a sim card or not. WE are available for booking a grabcar / taxi for you if you kindly ask. If you don't ask, there will be no help. Hippies, you cannot judge people for what they look like, as we tend to not judge people in a guesthouse. a talented guitarist does not make you a hippie. An open minded person does not make you a hippie. Practicing yoga is not a hippie, but it is a practice of hinduism. Parents with small children are more than welcome here as we have our children running around the house and we have patches of greenery to play on- not to look at only. As long term travellers, and their budget it is a pretty place for you to rest and enjoy mother nature. As for short term travellers (2 weeks) sometimes, if you do not appreciate mother nature's noises, or the local way of living, please check into a hotel in the city.

By our desire to learn, to look through the eyes of others; we have decided to open this house to the world, to share our vision of Malaysia close to the locals’ lifestyle and it’s natural beauty.

Our aim is to reveal the culture, the lifestyle and the lush-ness of mother-nature in a friend to friend basis.

We’ll be happy to organize a memorable stay in and around KL, where you'll experience surroundings that only locals keep from the mass amount of tourists.

Obviously KL must see spots won't be missed out for 'first timers', according to us, you shouldn't be treated differently as we make you a 'local' for your stay!

Welcome to your house, hope you will enjoy the time spent with us!
