Merci Patrick.
Patricks place was great! Very small and bare bones but exactly what we were looking for. Patrick messaged us to make sure we made it there and that everything was ok. We stayed for 2 weeks and the area was great. You cant overstate how close the beach is to the studio. A literal 2 minute walk before you are on the beach with 4 restaurants, piers, and beautiful view. the bed was comfortable but if you are with someone you will be fighting for the left side of the bed as that is the only place you get wifi. The bathroom was clean but you do have to hold the shower head while you use it which wasnt that big of an issue. The kitchen is not connected to the rest of the studio but accessible via the patio. We had planned on cooking a lot to keep the cost down but the propane stove only had one burner working so pasta was about all we could manage. I wouldnt plan on cooking dinner, best just to prepare breakfast and maybe lunch. Plus the mosquitos were pretty awful at night while trying to cook. The neighbor hood seemed to have some tourists but mostly locals and seemed safe. Huit Heure is a great grocery store that we went to every day which is a 2 min drive from the studio. The AC works quick which was much appreciated. I would say patricks spot is best for shorter stays where you arent intending to spend much time inside...and why would you in the beautiful Martinique! Definitely recommended!
Getting to the studio was a pain - cab driver and locals will not be much help. Keep asking and hunting. Patrick and his friend were there when we arrived. She spoke broken English, he speaks none. The place is small, simple, and clean. To get to the beach go down 1/2 block, turn left, then right, around the back of the building on your right (which houses calypso plongee, and a nice outdoor restaurant), to the front of the building which sits on the beach. Voila! Very close and convenient. Grocery store about 4 blocks away called '8-a-HUIT". In the studio is one 12 X 12 room with a double bed (firm slat bed), two end tables, a wardrobe, separate dresser, apt sized fridge/ separate freezer (good), and a small flat screen TV. Only local channels all 100% french. Connections on the back so bringing a portable DVD player would be smart. No seating in the room. Decent bath: toilet, sink and shower (no tub). Plenty of hot water, good pressure. There is a European A/C unit keeping the room cold. Outside the large patio door is a concrete covered patio(8x8) with plastic table and chairs, and kitchen. The kitchen has a two burner propane stove, toaster oven, sink, coffee pot (4 cup drip), and shelving that holds dishes, pans, some supplies. There is a washing machine under the counter and a plastic drying rack on the patio. Be sure to wash your clothes well in advance as they take about a day to dry in the humid air. We had to bring our jeans indoor to dry as the humidy never did let the thicker clothes dry well. There is a nice semi private yard but the gardner came early tuesday morning (7:30) without warning. There is internet - the host's friend brought the code two days after we got there. The internet works but has about a three foot radius so you can only get consistent signal from the left side of the bed. On the beach there are about 6 decent restaurants, people playing music, sunbathing, bocci ball, two piers, and swimming. You cannot see the sun hit the water from this beach. The Ferry to Fort-d-france, Mitan, Point-de-boat is at the pier - VERY convenient but hard to tell which boat goes where - ask. There is a bus stop on the main road but we never saw a bus stop there. Walk along the road with your thumb out and you will get a ride. I offerered money but the people never took any. I did ask at a local restaurant for someone to drive me to the airport - the waitress found a local french guy who took us at 6 am for 40 euros- taxi costs 70 and you have to call/wait to get a taxi. Hard to communicate w/host but we had no issues. Mostly friendly people and I never felt any criminal element. Very pleasant and economical stay- highly recommended.

Alles war Super unkompliziert. Perfekte Lage in weniger als eine Minute zum Strand, nettes kleines Örtchen. Sehr zu empfehlen, gerne wieder
