We have had the best time in the Zen Room at Shareen & Greg's home in Niles/Fremont area. Thanks for the hospitality and wonderfully appointed room to relax and rejuvenate! The neighborhood is very quiet and we slept great in the Queen bed with luxury linens. Thank you, thank you and thank you!

Greg was the host that provided our introduction to the space. The room that we booked, the Zen Room, was exactly as it was conveyed in the photos online. We were graciously welcomed. The reason for our stay was our own local marriage. We had a total of fifteen out of town guests, most of whom we had managed to house with friends in the immediate area. In the process of rooming everyone, our own home was completely filled. (Niles, where we live, and where Casa Pacifica is located, is without a hotel or motel.) Many of the guests had no local vehicle and were in from overseas. An AirBnB was perfect for us, and Greg and Shareen were ideal hosts. They additionally accepted two overseas friends of ours in their Aloha Room, which was a great help, too. In the end, it was actually better that we stayed at Casa Pacifica than at our own place. It provided a sanctuary in the hurricane storm of wedding planning AND hosting out-of-town guests. Greg and Shareen assisted with the tour guide role that we found ourselves in. They have extensive maps and guide books that they loaned us. Though I am no slouch in the Bay Area local knowledge department, Greg had several tips that I was unfamiliar with that really helped with trip arrangements. (One was where to find the good, and relatively empty, cable car loading spot.) Upon departure, the friends staying with us at Casa Pacifica were continuing to Southern California. Shareen advised them on their route and several excellent spots for the beer lovers out there. Another thing that I liked about Casa Pacifica included the hosts' use of environmentally responsible products in the bathroom. My wedding day hot bath in their deep soaking tub with Dr. Bronner's liquid soap was useful in combatting the panic attack that was looming on the horizon. I will definitely consider staying with Greg and Shareen in the future for 'staycations.' And I will ABSOLUTELY place guests with them for lodging. It was really wonderful knowing that (when we occupied with other matters) our guests with them were well cared for.

Our stay at Casa Pacifica was the perfect respite from a hectic pace. Shareen and Greg are the quintessential hosts. You wake to the most amazing big cup of coffee and homemade quiches. The fridge and bar is stocked with beverages to cure any ail. The bed was so soft and you could sleep with the windows open. I absolutely loved the edible garden. Bare foot in the soft dirt, picking fresh kale and sweet tomatoes for my garden smoothies every morning!! After staying at hotels during my consulting years, an option like this would have done wonders to keep me healthier and reduce stress. Most awesome thing is the house is right next to running trails along the canal. The desk in the room is an added bonus. Very quite neighborhood. I loved relaxing or working in the patio with the beautiful gardens and hummingbirds buzzing around me. Awesome local hangouts for dinner & drinks within walking distance. Check out the patio at the Vine! Didn't want to leave. You feel like you have gone back in time in Niles and Shareen can regale you for hours about the amazing history of this town. We also took advantage of all of SanFrans amazing experiences which are less than an hour away -- like hanging off cable cars, soaking in the wineries and hiking under the redwood trees.

I've stayed in many lovely hotels, but I don't think I've ever stayed anyplace that I felt more at home than at Casa Pacifica. Some of the things I loved best: a fantastically comfortable bed, fuzzy robe, travel-sized toiletries, luggage scale, luggage rack, and a desk in my room. I also had free reign of the downstairs area, including the living room, kitchen and laundry room. The decor is comfortable and stylish throughout. I particularly loved the teal walls in my bedroom! (I peaked in the Aloha Room, which is also attractive, but the Zen Room, where I stayed, was my favorite). There's also a beautiful garden, with a spacious patio that's perfect for lounging. The town of Niles is an undiscovered little gem, too, and Casa Pacifica is just two blocks off the Main Street, where I enjoyed the restaurants and Saturday farmer's market. The hosts, Shareen and Greg, were wonderful--friendly and welcoming while offering me plenty of privacy. I would definitely come again.

I love travel and adventure - it's in my blood. My dad was in the Army and my family moved every few years so I greatly appreciate diversity of culture and being new to an area.
As soon as I was old enough, I grabbed my backpack and spent a year exploring Europe making lifelong friends. I have since been fortunate enough to travel to Africa, Singapore, Mexico and Belize, the UK, to name a few countries. Mementos from these travels decorate our home and always bring back a story and a smile. I love learning about other people's interests and often play the role of a connector among my many friends and business associates around the world.

I also have a passion for nature and animals. I love growing fruits, vegetables and flowers in my garden. I love swimming, open water scuba diving and hiking in the redwoods.

Living in the San Francisco Bay Area, I've cultivated a taste for "the finer things in life" such as great wine, clean organic food, and the arts. What could be better than sitting outside, enjoying fresh food, wine, music, and lively conversation with friends as the sun sets upon the day?
