So I was in New York for a conference at NYU and I wanted a place down in the area and David's spot was just perfect! I was coming in from LA and it was so fun to feel like I was a New Yorker for the weekend.
As my trip was approaching, David was very responsive to my questions and gave me great advice on how to get from the airport to his place. I let him know when I was going to show up and he was right there waiting for me and it was an easy transition to get the keys, understand the locks, etc.
The place was very clean and was a perfect studio apartment for a small group of guests. The bed was comfy and I had plenty of room for my stuff. The place also has a small kitchen to do a little cooking and the shower and bathroom was clean with plenty of room.
The area is great because it is right near Washington Square, so there is all kinds of great restaurants, bars, etc. but isn't so overwhelming like Times Square. David had some great suggestions for places to eat and grab a drink. It feels like you are in this cool New York neighborhood and after a day I felt like a local. The SoHo/Village area quickly became my favorite.
There's several train stations nearby, so you can get to anywhere in the city by just walking a few blocks, but I also just loved where I stayed. I had some great pizza at Artichoke Pizza and some great brews at The Half Pint.
David's place is a great studio apartment to use to explore New York and David was a perfect host. He even offered his jackets for me to use in case I hadn't brought anything warm enough from LA. Great host!
