Enjoy being in the middle of the desert, surrounded by mountains, where coyotes howl at night and cactus abounds. I'm a wrangler and a Certified Tucson Ambassador with valuable insight into the area. This is an idea location for equestrians (corrals available at $10/night), hikers, bird watchers, bicyclists, history buffs, and artists. It's only 20 minutes to civilization, and it's though Saguaro NP! One breakfast or dinner is included. Check out my travel trailer listing for more space.
Escape the city and relax in a hammock stargazing at the base of Panther Peak. Enjoy my modern manufactured home with washer/dryer and full kitchen privileges. The last 2/10ths of a mile is dirt road, but if you want quiet, this is the place. I'm just 15 minutes from the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and Old Tucson Studios, located west of the Tucson Mountains where there are great hiking, equestrian, and mountain biking trails right from the house. There are no street lights to detract from the gorgeous sunsets and stargazing. Your host is a certified riding instructor and wrangler who can arrange for a private trail rides. There is a 60' round pen for 3 horses together. Nature lovers, travelers, birdwatchers, artists, equestrians, and people that just want to relax find my place restful and inspiring.

Note: a GPS WILL GET YOU LOST the closer you get to my place, so please PRINT the directions provided once you book. I only have as hot spot on my phone, so no WiFi other than your laptop or phone if I'm not home.
Atención a los huéspedes
I enjoy orienting guests during their first meal (the only one included) with lots of tips as to where to go, distances, etc. so you can maximize your stay. Sometimes guests even accompany me to events, live local music or dancing, or want to know about Tucson's many trails or other places within a day's drive like Tombstone, Nogales (Mexico...bring a passport!), Tubac, or Bisbee. After living here for 25+ years, I've got lots of ideas, so feel free to ask for recommendations. If you're not much of a talker, that's fine too! I do not rent to more than one party at a time so you can feel comfortable.
Otros aspectos destacables
Everything you need is within a 20 minute drive. My 2 dogs (a medium sized and a tiny terrier) are indoor/outdoor, so please keep your room door and back gate closed. I suggest closed toed shoes/boots for walking in the desert. Drink lots of water even in the winter as dehydration can occur (I am Wilderness First Aid and CPR trained). Sunblock, sunglasses, and a hat are a necessity any time of year. Be snake smart (if you see one, back off, and never put your hands or feet where you can't see). Please do not enter the horse corrals or feed the horses unless I am with you. Finally, there are no street lights out here, so it's best if you can arrive in daylight.
Smoking (including MMJ) is only allowed outside on either front or back porches. For your safety, do not enter the horse pens unless I am with you, and please put any horse treats in the bucket rather than feed by hand. Finally, do not leave any campfire unattended. If there is a problem or you forgot something, please let me know.
