Jean and Craig welcomed us when we arrived. Their sw ee t home is located at a quiet and nice neighborhood. Jean showed us where the restaurants, grocery store and lake are. We eenjoyed the local area a lot. The bed is comfortable and we had a great night. I would recommend staying here.

Not only is the neighborhood charming the home, too, is a delight, and tidy, and homey-- it is also located near a fantastic restaurant (Red Wagon Pizza). Host Craig was knowledgeable and interesting to talk with. His furniture design and hand crafted wood sculptures are amazing. It was a lovely stay and nice and close to the airport. But not too close.

Stay here both for location in south Minneapolis and to enjoy Craig's unique furniture. Jean and Craig were great hosts. Enjoyed our short stay immensely.

We had a nice visit with Jean in Minneapolis. The house is in a beautiful quiet neighborhood, but close to great eating. The accommodations are perfect for what I need in Minneapolis when visiting friends and family. Jean's husband recommended we take the scenic route to Spring Green in Wisconsin and we truly appreciated that advice. A really fun-loving (grown) family that were really nice to converse with. I would recommend for a relaxing visit. Thank you for having us!!

Jean has a very nice place. We enjoy staying at her house. The weather was beautiful this morning, so we enjoyed a cup of coffee on the patio and took in the beautiful gardens.

When my husband, Craig, or I travel for work we have to stay in standard hotels, so when travelling for pleasure we prefer staying in more unique settings, from camping and cabins to B &B’s and boutique hotels. Same goes for restaurants; we’re foodies and seek out local cuisine, ma & pa joints, and good chefs. Nearly always on our vacation “must do” list includes a tour of some sort. Tours of historical sites or art museums are typical, and we adore park rangers.
I am an admitted extrovert. As a physical therapist I have to relate to all kinds of people and do a lot of teaching currently to injured workers or those at risk for injury. Also, I currently teach tai chi classes and give eduational seminars about tai chi, and I used to be a tour guide at the Walker Arts Center, our world-class modern art museum (now schedule precludes that). Nordic walking and yoga are my favorite fitness activities, and I love downhill skiing (which is how I met Craig), theater, and cooking. My family and sons consider me a nutrition fanatic, but really I just find joy in knowing what’s in the food I serve and in finding/shopping for healthy and tasty new foods.
Craig isn’t really my opposite, though claims he’s an introvert. He loves biking (and gets me to bike with him by hauling me on a tandem), and woodworking – the latter is his relaxing hobby that counters his brain-taxing job in IT. And I get some really cool furniture.ask to see photos . Craig is quite fit, being a 5-day/week YMCA guy, and we do a yoga class together on Saturday mornings.
We’ve both travelled a lot, including our 3 month tour of Europe and Turkey in 1988 and our four-year house in Germany from 1997 to 2001, which gave a home base for many more trips in the EU, as well as several friends with whom we still take vacations. That said, the USA gives us many opportunities for national and state park experiences, historical and cultural events and education, and local cuisine sampling.
Both of our grown sons attend our alma mater, the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Both are also foodies, good cooks, and both actually enjoying hanging out with one another, which warms their mom’s heart.
Instead of music or TV, at home we like the sounds of the birds outside; we try to avoid turning on the AC in favor of open windows. [okay, not during Minnesota winters] That said we do rely on AC when Minneapolis gets hot and humid, and we do binge occasionally on Neflix or Amazon Prime TV series - this surprises even us, as we’d gone completely without TV for 20 years of marriage, and have never had cable TV.
