The house is very close to Kofu station, by bus it takes 10 minutes. You can catch the bus from outside of Kofu station if you leave via the south exit. The room is spacious and relaxing and in the traditional style of Japan, this includes an 8 piece Tatami floor and Fusuma(URL HIDDEN)
The house has a garden at the front where guests can relax if they wish to. There is a seating area where you can drink or smoke and talk with friends.
The location of the house is very good. Only a short walk away are a wide variety of restaurants and convenient stores. If you would like advice on the best places to dine, shop or visit you can speak to Jun (Grandson) who has a great knowledge of the local area. If you would like to borrow bicycles for sightseeing, this is absolutely fine, we can lend up to two, free of charge. Jun is very talented in the art of calligraphy and offers Japanese calligraphy lessons for a very good price of 2,500 yen per person. You can learn how to write your name in Japanese till you are satisfied. The house is also very close to the town of Shosenkyo, this can be reached by bus or car. It is a very scenic place to visit as it has a famous waterfall and some absolutely stunning views. It also has a very unique art museum of shadow picture (If you would like more information please speak to Jun).
Yamanashi prefecture has some of the best Onsens in Japan with some allowing you to see mount Fuji whilst relaxing. Again, please speak to Jun if you would like advice on the best deals regarding the Onsens.
If there are more than three guests I can accommodate for this with an extra room that has a 6 piece Tatami.
The house does not have air conditioning but it has many windows that can be opened which will allow a cool breeze to flow through the room. In the winter it is warm because of the sun shining through the windows. If you have any questions regarding the listing please don't hesitate to ask.

We had a great stay at this fantastic traditional Japanese house. Jun and Granny are super nice, they introduce to us the local restaurants and the onsen. We had an amazing traditional Japanese breakfast too. Would definitely try to book it again in the near future if we are heading that way. Arigato-gozaimasu!

Jun was VERY helpful during the check-in process, as well as during the rest of our stay. He gave us a lot of information about Kofu and the things to do. He welcomed us with a glass of ice tea and took all the time for us.

Jun and his family (mom and grandma) were really welcoming! You could see Jun had done this before because he had a folder full of information about the area and offered us tea and took us through some nice things to do in Kofu and around. The house is really clean, beautiful and traditional. It has everything you need including bikes you can rent to go around. On our last morning, Jun offered us some of his coffee from Guatemala because he knew my husband was a coffee lover and to top it up, the family took us back to the train station since they were on their way out. Thank you again for hosting us!

it was a fantastic experience that we stayed in komiyama for two days.純 was definitely one of kindest person I met in Japan .His English is good and we don't have any problem to communicate.we exchanged our culture and he also took us to a local restaurant where we met some very friendly people who showed us all kinds of traditional Japanese snack.純' granny and mom are also very nice people. they treated us with tea and gave us chocolate when we leaved. His family gave us a sense of staying at home.his house is clean and traditional Japanese style.I would always be a good idea to choose 純' family if you want to have sightseeing and culture-experienced trip in Japan(URL HIDDEN)it was also convenient to get to see Fuji from 純' house and he gave us bus timetable and maps which made us trip much easy.Fuji was very beautiful though It didn't have much snow now,but we saw lavender with it.純told us it also have onsen near his area,it was a pity that we haven't try it due to time limit.I will definitely choose his family if I go there next time(URL HIDDEN) 純的家庭超级棒!!!

This was, hands down, the loveliest airbnb I've ever stayed in. Jun's grandmother was just so sweet. I love how she kept asking me these questions, even though I barely speak three words of Japanese (thank you and hello being the sum total). I kept getting it completely wrong, and we both kept giggling about it. Whoever said she's bossy or whatever, they're obviously the one with the problem because she's absolutely delightful! She made me tea each morning, all setup and ready for me when I woke up, along with sour cherries (I think) to snack on, and then chocolates! Tea again whenever I got back from my excursions, along with some fermented veggies for a snack (I thought they were pickled but Jun said fermented and showed me her culture and explained how it's done; anyway, they were good). Always the snacks and tea!! When I got there, Jun was at work so despite the language barrier, his grandma got me settled in. The futon was already out, but when I got there she thought I might like a nap (I think) so she set it up and put on the blankets. Eventually she realized I wasn't tired so she brought me matcha ice cream! When I went for a day trip to Shosenkyo (*highly* recommend, btw), she packed me some snacks for the road. When I got back... More tea! She made sure my teacup was never empty. Jun himself was also very friendly and helpful. He deciphered the Shosenkyo map and bus schedule for me and helped me figure out which bus stops I wanted. He also provided excellent directions to his house and instructions for the bus from Kofu station. Kofu is a difficult place for the bus, apparently it's a car-designed city. Eventually I ended up walking to and from the train station, mostly because I was running low on cash. Luckily, there's a really good grocery store 10 minutes walk from Jun's house and it accepts credit cards, so I stocked up to stretch my cash for the rest of the trip. That was a lifesaver! The single only negative I had is that the futon is thinner than I'm used to, even in Japan. It's entirely possible that this is the "normal" thickness and the hostel and Ryokan I stayed at had "cushy" versions so the foreigners don't complain. And I have to admit that it felt like it was good for my back. Just not the most comfortable for my western woman hips ;-) All in all, a delightful stay. Clean and beautiful house, traditional without being outdated, and the friendliest people you'll ever stay with. 10/10!

I had a very memorable time in Jun's house. His mother and grandma truly welcomed me and invited me to experience Japanese way of living. Jun was very kind and we shared many interesting stories together. Jun san, thank you for everything and I will always remember the grandma's tsukemono, our sento experience, and warm smiles and kind hearts of your family!
