We’re sorry to hear that you were so unhappy with your stay especially since almost all of our guests have an amazing stay at our apartment. From our perspective, you checked into the apartment early in the day and then at 11:30 at night decided you wanted to cancel your reservation and get a full refund. On top of that, you never talked to us about any problems you were having, you went straight to Airbnb. That has only happened to us one other time in the past when a guest put an ashtray from our neighbor’s house, inside our kitchen and tried to pretend like we left it there. So I am overall suspicious of guests who do not come to us first but instead seek a refund directly from Airbnb, especially, so late at night when we could not hope to rebook the apartment to a more gracious guest. Most guests talk to us about whatever issue they are having and give us the chance to remedy it. To address the other things you mentioned, we inform guests in the listing that there are places that are walking distance but that we suggest taking an uber/lyft at night. Finally after everything, we did offer a refund, Airbnb was just nice enough to cover it on their end because we have a history of being great hosts. It’s incredibly disappointing that you would get a refund, drag us through all this, and leave such a negative review. We typically don’t leave bad reviews for guests but we want to put this out there so no other host has to deal with the type of guests that you were.
