Ty Beic is two one bedroom holiday cottages tucked away on a hill above the tiny hamlet of Sarnau, near Bala on the southern edge of Snowdonia National Park. These two restored stone barns are a magical place to stay all year round providing a perfect base for exploring North Wales.
The Barn is a one bedroom detached cottage with exposed beams and stone walls, magnificent views of the Berwyn Mountains, a comfortable open plan living space and kitchen and a bedroom with ensuite shower room.
Our two holiday cottages have been converted and furnished to a very high standard each with their own special characters and features.
Please see our listing for 'Ty Beic Holiday Apartments - The Stable' for information about our other cottage.
The Barn is in front of the main house (Ty Hen) and has magnificent views of the Berwyn Mountains.
The living area has a comfortable sofa, dining table and chairs, TV with Freeview and Netflix, DVD/Blueray player, a selection of books and DVDs and a music system with DAB radio, CD player and bluetooth. The underfloor heating keeps it warm and cosy.
The kitchen has a hob, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge and all the cooking utensils you would expect to find at home.
The bedroom has a superking size bed or two singles. Your choice. The en suite bathroom has underfloor heating and a shower with plenty of hot water.
Ty Beic has spacious grounds with views of mountains and farmland. When the weather is fine, you can enjoy a BBQ on your private patio or make the most of the long summer evenings around the fire pit while taking in the view and planning your next adventure. The only disturbance is the sound of sheep and birds.
All guests have access to private parking, secure bicycle storage, bike wash facilities and a laundry which also has a shared freezer. We provide bedlinen and towels.

Otros aspectos destacables
Ty Beic is on the southern edge of Snowdonia National Park and is the perfect base to explore North Wales.
We are approximately 30 minutes drive from the mountain bike centres of Coed y Brenin, Llandegla, Antur Stiniog (Blaenau Ffestiniog), Revolution Bike Park (Llangynog), One Giant Leap (Llangollen) and the ClimachX, Marin and Penmachno MTB trails. Because these trails are purpose built they are well drained and therefore rideable throughout the year. When things get a bit muddy in Surrey the trails will still be clear up here. There is also plenty of mountain biking to be had on the doorstep without having to get in a car and we'd be happy to show you some of the routes and trails we have discovered.
The area is also superb for road cycling, with quiet country roads, beautiful scenery, epic climbs and exhilarating descents on the doorstep. Bwlch y groes, the highest road pass in Wales, Horseshoe Pass, the 'Shelf', Moel Arthur and Bwlch Penbarras are all within riding distance. Indeed 'Bwlch' can be seen from Ty Beic.
We like to run and walk the local trails and will be happy to show you a few routes. There are footpaths everywhere, including one through the property. We are on the southern edge of Snowdonia National Park and Snowdon is a pleasant and scenic 40 minute drive away. Aran, the highest British mountain south of Snowdon, is a 15 minute drive and Cadair Idris about 30 minutes. Away from the honey pots of Snowdonia, there are also spectacular walks in the Berwyn mountain range. The walk to Cadair Berwyn from Pistyll Rhaeder is one of our favourites.
Bala is also a famous for its water sports. The world renowned National White Water Centre is in Frongoch, Bala. Bala Adventure and Water Sports Centre and Bala Sailing Club are both based on Bala Lake (Llyn Tegid). There are also great opportunities for wild swimming in the local lakes and rivers. Indeed there is secluded lake just a ten minute walk up the hill from Ty Hen.
We don't believe in supplements, security deposits or rules and regulations, trusting that you will do the right thing and treat Ty Beic as you would your own home.
We don't allow pets or smoking inside the property. Dogs are allowed in our other cottage, the Stable.
Please recycle as much of your waste as possible, we have recycling and composting facilities, and return your keys in person to us.
Maximum of two people and over 21s please.
Full Terms and Conditions will be sent after booking.
