Atención a los huéspedes
I am out and about sometimes playing sport, so if I am at home, I would like to sit down and talk about your travels for NZ and help out where possible with things to see and do. I do understand travelling can be tiring and a lot of guests prefer to hang out in their bedroom and relax. So I will leave it up to you how much you want to interact.
I have put some travel tips in the guest book of my favourite local places to visit and eat at.

My top 5 places to see in Christchurch
1.Restart mall and Regent Street– a outdoor mall make from old container ships. Regent street is Art Deco street (the tram starts there) with boutique shops.
2.Botanical gardens – in the centre of town and park of Hagley Park. The gardens are lovely all year round. And if you want to go for a run the outside of Hagley Park is about 6.5km in distance.
3.Farmers market - Held at historic Riccarton House every Saturday morning. Meats, cheeses, fruit and vegetables sit alongside superb coffee and goodies to enjoy while you're strolling around.
4.Canterbury Museum – located near the Botancical Gardens, a great place to learn about New Zealand and Christchurch
5.Gap filler events – random things to fill our empty spaces around the city. From street art to a dance-o-mat. Check out (website hidden) for more information.
Top 5 day trips from Christchurch
My favorite place. A journey around this beautiful peninsula will reward you with picturesque vistas at every turn, a thriving artisan culture and a marine environment teaming with wildlife. 1 hour drive from Christchurch
(website hidden) Hutt – skiing and snowboarding
If snow is your thing, Mt Hutt is the place for you. A 2 hour drive from Christchurch, Mt Hutt is a great ski field for beginners to advance. Stop off at Methven for dinner afterwards.
In this nature-lovers' paradise, you can encounter majestic whales, dolphins, fur seals and giant albatross by boat, helicopter or plane. Learn about ancient indigenous customs on a Maori cultural tour. And you simply must try some succulent local seafood – at a restaurant, a seaside fish and chip picnic, or an iconic crayfish caravan. 2 ½ hours drive from Christchurch
Take in wine tasting in the Waipara Valley, before heading to this beautiful alpine setting, for a soothing soak in the thermal pools, and a relaxing spa treatment. Or perhaps head out for a nature walk, some mountain biking, a jet boat ride, or a bungy jump? Cafes and restaurants are on hand to refuel. 2 hour drive from Christchurch.
Spend a leisurely day exploring this world-renowned wine producing area. Enjoy cellar door tastings, and see how the landscape, soil and microclimate come together here with some magic from winemakers. Savour superb Canterbury cuisine matched with a local drop at a vineyard restaurant. 1 hour drive from Christchurch.
