I don’t usually respond to reviews but felt compelled to in this instance. Walnut Run Farm is an old farmhouse sitting on a large plot of land in the middle of the country. It isn’t air-conditioned and I don’t list it as one of my amenities. If you’re accustomed to going from an air-conditioned house to an air-conditioned car to an air-conditioned office, you might find the mid-summer heat uncomfortable, but it isn’t an issue with most of my guests. I have many fans dispersed around the house, and I have window units in both of the bedrooms.
The other issue Steve raised is bugs. Right now as I look around my house I would be hard-pressed to find a single bug. But of course there are going to be bugs around, especially in the middle of the summer with a fifty-foot long screened porch that leads through open double-doors into the house. A summer house has many screened windows and bugs are persistent when there is a light on at night.
You’re in the country. You wanted to get away to the country. Welcome to the country!
I keep the house and property immaculately clean and work my tail off doing so. I am a one-man operation and I try my absolute hardest to provide a great and unique experience for all of my guests.
