Well, what can I say, but what a truly wonderful holiday and venue!
But firstly I must start with our lovely host, Helen. Her communication in the build up to the holiday was second to none and that was truly matched by her hospitality once we got there, which started with some wonderful little touches that I won't even tell you about, as that would spoil the surprise.
The villa was everything that we hoped and more. If you think it is spacious with land (very green watered grass) in the pictures then it even bigger once there. Taking into account the Kefalonian weather and the fact you'll be outside it more than in, it comfortably accommodates 8.
Then there's the pool. Beautifully clean, well kept, and slightly heated which just takes any chill off it a breeze may create. The perfect and a good size one too!
As you walk to toward the bottom of the grounds you then have the awe inspiring view of your he peak of Mt Ainos behind. Not too far behind either.
There is plenty of wildlife around too. As you may have already read, Bats swoop down to the pool at night which is a great sight and Owls sit directly above you once evening has come calling to one another, and we even caught a glimpse of one of those too. Birds of prey nearby in the daytime and wild Tortious in the grounds also.
With regards location, you will need a car, but then you will anywhere you book in Kefalonia, especially if you want to see the islands immense beauty and stunning beaches. The best I have seen in Greece, intact they rival any I have seen around the world. The beach's of Makris Gialos at Lassi near the capital Argostoli (15 minute drive from Villa Paradiso) are stunning as is the beach of Agios Thomas 10 minutes drive away, as well as Pessada beach 5 minutes drive away.
Nearest large supermarket is 10 minutes drive away towards Argostoli where you will get all you need.
So much to see and do that you'll struggle to fit it all in, especially as that means pulling yourself away from Villa Paradiso, that like me you'll be committed to return to Kefalonia, which is the finest Greek island I have been to, and I've been to a number of them.
Thank you Helen again. We'll be back! x
