Gila's "Piece of Home" is an idyllic place. The home is beautiful, and Gila and her husband, Jonathan, are wonderful hosts. The rental is completely private--it has its own entrance, bathroom, kitchen, and living room, but you are also welcome to sit out in the backyard, which you will definitely want to do because the gardens are lovely. I was greeted by Gila and Jonathan's warm smiles, a refrigerator full of food, and a spotlessly clean unit. Gila also has prepared a map of the area and advice on things to do/places to go. In addition, both she and Jonathan are very helpful in giving advice, suggestions, directions--anything you ask. They make sure that you have everything you need, but also give you your privacy. I felt much more like a guest than a renter--they even invited me to a dinner at their friend's house (it was a holiday), on a morning walk, and answered many questions about Israeli history and culture. They are very friendly, warm, interesting people to talk with.
The unit has all of the amenities you need--comfortable bed, nice shower, fully equipped kitchen, tv, wifi, lots of windows, very quiet. Again, all was extremely clean.
The location is great for enjoying the beautiful nature in the north, as well as taking short day-trips to historic cities and other interesting areas. Be sure to budget extra time for relaxing at the house, because the peaceful energy there invites you to stay.
I would definitely return to Gila's home should I have the opportunity to visit Israel again in the future!
