Beautifully nestled 19th century colonial house situated on 60 acres of land. Very quiet and peaceful. Great Skiing in the area which include Jiminy Peak and Butternut just 30 minute from the house. 20 minutes from Tanglewood and the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. 15 minutes from the charming town of Chatham. 30 minutes from Hudson.
-Trash can be left in the house for stays of 3 days or less. If you have more please place the trash in the trash cans in the garage. And securely place the lids on those trash cans. If possible please notify me if you place trash in the cans in the garage.
-Please no smoking in the house. If you do smoke outside please discard your cigarettes butts in the trash. Even if you are walking through the woods please carry a small bag, and do not discard them on the property.
-Please do not flush anything but toilet paper in the toilets, for obvious reasons :)
-When flushing the toilets please make sure the handle is secure and the toilets are not continuously running water.
-When turning on the heat please do not turn above 72 degrees. There is a thermostat in the living room and one in the downstairs bedroom. The thermostat in the downstairs bedroom controls the heat for the second floor of the house. There are vents in the ceiling which allow hot air to reach the room. They can be opened or closed by the turning of the knob. In the evening if you are not using the living room please lower the thermostat down to 55 degrees (To conserve energy and no need to heat a room that isn't being used). When departing please lower both thermostats to just above 50 degrees.
-Please dine only in the lower level or outside, and not the carpeted upstairs.
-Please strip the sheets of the beds you have used.
-Fireplace can be used in the living room but please perform a visual check of the flue and close it when you check out. Please do not use the fireplace in the kitchen or master bedroom. Complimentary firewood has been left for you by the fireplace during the winter Season (Oct 15th – April 1st). If you would like to buy more I have listed locations near the house to get some more in the AirBNB guidebook map. Also please do not burn wood from the outside in the fireplace. Feel free to use wood you find on the grounds in the bonfire pit, but DO NOT use outside wood in the fireplace. Certain types of wood can lead to chimney fires.
- If you happen to be bringing a dog please put up the pet gate to the carpeted upstairs. Dogs are not permitted upstairs. All the living areas are on the first floor, including a master bedroom to accommodate pet owners. Also please keep the dog off the furniture in the living room and bedroom. In addition when leaving your furry loved one alone home please close the door to the bedroom and living room.
-Please ask that all guests that are coming with you to read the house rules
-Have an incredible time!!
