I stayed at Andy's place for a total of 5 weeks (3 weeks originally and then I extended for another 2 weeks). My favourite thing about the apartment is how light, sunny and spacious it is. I was craving a base after living my out of my suitcase for 10 months and it became the perfect little home away from home.
I have to mention I was welcomed by Andy with at least 4 days worth of food including pasta, pizza, wine, bread, beer, cookies, and fresh flowers which was super thoughtful. Andy, is a top host, in fact the best I've come across in the time I've travelled. Super friendly, great communication, helpful, but gave me the space I needed.
The apartment was very clean, and well stocked with all kitchen cooking basics, and also soap, toiletries, all cleaning/ laundry products etc. For a tired traveller in a new city, it is lovely not to have to find a supermarket as soon as you arrive to source essentials.
The location of Leith is very central to everything, buses, eateries, taxis, bars, supermarkets, and shops are all minutes away, and the city centre is only a 20-30 min walk away if inclined.
Car parking along Dalmeny Rd is free and it was never too difficult to find a park, occasionally it was full but I always managed to find a space along Easter Road in a pinch, which was only a 5 min walk.
I would definitely stay again.
