The flat is steps away from the main pedestrian street, within walking distance to all the ferry ports and the bus station (10 minutes and 2 minutes respectively).
The room is pretty big, well-lit and quiet.

El lugar

I've been flat searching in this area for ages and this one was a total surprise for me because most of the flats are pretty dingy in this area, especially the kitchen and bathrooms but as you can see from the photos, it's not like that at all here. Oooh and the flat faces northwest/southeast so the scorching hot in summer doesn't really affect me (it's pretty windy too. Never bothered to buy an AC. There are fly screens on the windows btw. So you can leave the windows open anytime.) Anyway, the flat is mere steps away from the main pedestrian street in central Kadıköy but it is extremely quiet and looks over to a huge garden with lots of trees. The rooms are well lit and spacious.
I have my own personal stuff here and there (since you know I'm the only person who lives here I took the liberty of owning each and every corner of the place hehe) but I'll move them out of the way for guests, obviously. The personal stuff you can see in the photos are gonna go go go.

One last thing. In summer months the AC units of the nearby shops start working and since the room (the one I open to guests) faces the back of the building that humming (which is not loud or anything, I just don't like white noise) might not be desirable for some people, or if white noise is your thing I suggest never to close the window :) The sound doesn't get through the closed windows anyway. So yeah.

Disponible para huéspedes

Guests are welcome to use anything they like. There are spare towels, toiletries, linens, even clothes if there's any need. There's pretty much spare anything tbh. The living room has a very cozy TV area with a couch and loads and loads of cushions, everyone's welcome to use that area as they please.

Atención a los huéspedes

I'm a freelance translator and book editor. So if I am not in the flat then I'm probably pretty close at a cafe or a bar (if not socialising then definitely working), so I'll probably be in shouting distance if there's any need :)

Otros aspectos destacables

I don't have a washing machine, guys. My friends (who all happen to live nearby) have washers, so I never felt the need to buy one for myself hehe. Sorry.

Reglas de la casa

I am not a huge party person. Don't like loads of strangers in the flat. I like quite night-ins. So there's that.
Did you know that doing the dishes increases your life expectancy by %80? Well, it certainly does ;)
Ooh, I have a lot of books (some in English) but I don't lend them because I'm a selfish b***. No no, I don't lend them because whenever I do they tend to get lost. But thanks for asking :)

Cicek is a very cute, prety and friendly host. I did not have the chance to chat with her because of my full calendar. But I can say that she is easyly overcoming the hosting issue. Her flat has a perfect location where is very close to central bull statue of Kadikoy. Bathroom, kitchen and living rooms can satisfy all your needs. I contacted her at late hours of the day. Inspite of this, her responses were coming incredibly fast after 1-2 minutes. One more thing, her boy friend was the most friendly guy in Istanbul I have ever met. To have a new colorfull friend in Istanbul, you should stay with Cicek.

I love traveling on a whim, meeting new people and exploring new places. I seriously cannot live without that.
I don't believe that happiness is something that should be sought. It is not a solid thing out there that's waiting for you. So I create ways to feel better, instead of seeking something, I make myself content with what I have. And I admit that requires good food, good conversations, kindness and love :)

Motto: I believe that as long as people respect each other everyone should be free to do whatever they like... Passing judgement is a waste of time.
