We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Stacey's place. She is a great host. Everything was better or as she mentioned about the property on Airbnb. Stacey was very responsive, communicated well in advance, and was always available to answer our queries or to provide suggestions. We look forward to revisiting this place next summer.

Stacey was very responsive and kind. The house is very charming- great place to get away from it all and relax. Lovely kitchen for cooking, and the whole place was spotless.

Pretty house by the lake. I nicknamed it the Wallpaper house as every room has a different design. The sun room is great to hang out in and the view of the water and the pasture through the windows is beautiful. Sadly, you can't just jump in the lake by the shore. It's mucky and full of vegetation. You have to paddle out for a swim. Fortunately Stacey provides 3 kayaks and it's really fun to go out on the lake. The house has no AC and no Wifi. There are plenty of fans that kept it cool though. The windows also don't work well. Another con is that the water is very iron heavy and the hot water smelled like sulfur. Not sure if it's always like this or just some temporary problem.

Respuesta de Stacey:
Since Bruna's stay we have installed a water system filter in the house and happy to say the sulfur smell is gone. This is a old house with the beauty of an old house. There are not many of them left on the lake shores of Champlain that are still intact with original floors, doors, trim and molding. The house has gone under extensive renovations in the past 30 years; new interior wall board, insulation, electrical, plumbing and yes new windows that sometimes are stiff to open. Unfortunately we are in a drought right now and lake Champlain is very low. Swimming was definitely better in June. Always great for Kayaking and privacy with 400 feet of lake frontage.

Stacey is a great host! There were instructions left on the table right when we got in on how to operate lights and any important numbers we needed to call. She even left us a handwritten map of the neighborhood to visit nearby lakes and go hiking on Mt. Independence. When I had questions about the house during my stay, Stacey was very responsive via text and even came by the house. The house is very cozy. You can tell it was built a long time ago which gives it a very cozy feeling. The living room and adjacent sun room are incredible and were my favorite place to hang out, play games, drink/eat and enjoy the weekend. The deck has an incredible view and the dock/kayaks were constantly used all weekend. Neighborhood is very quiet with a local store just a few miles down the road as well as a gas station with all of the refreshments someone would need.

I moved to Orwell, VT full time in 2009 from Alpharetta, GA to peruse art full time. I currently teach pottery out of my studio that is located at Stratford House Pottery and at Middlebury Studio School (Old Frog Hollow) in Middlebury, VT. I sell pottery in many gift shops and galleries around the US including my own gallery. I moved to Vermont to pursue a simpler more relaxed life and to get away from the congestion of metro Atlanta.
One of my favorite things is to sit in my adirondack chair at lunch, looking out over a freshly hayed field, with the sun on my face, my dog at my side and the view of the town roof tops in the distance.
