Nestled in the lovely friendly neighborhood of Dunbar, this newly renovated garden level suite is 7 minutes from UBC, beaches and 15 minutes from downtown. The suite has two bedrooms and a sofa bed in living room and accomm 5 guests. Please note that I can only accommodate related groups of people, so groups of friends larger than 3 will not work - for insurance purposes. Sorry about that.
This is a garden level/bottom level suite (I live upstairs in main and upstairs floors) which has just been renovated in July 2015 with new modern grey floors, brand new kitchen cabinets, like new stainless steel fridge and stove. Also in the suite are a dishwasher, toaster, coffeemaker, microwave, washer & dryer. A coffeemaker sits on one counter. There are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, one with bunk bed and single bed. Brand new IKEA Sofa bed with chaise in living room which is a double. Also, a new corner sofa in living room (the room is quite large). One bathroom with good size shower. The square footage of the suite is just over 1000 sq. ft. Sleeps 5. Wifi available in the suite. If the sofa bed is used, please use a sheet on it to protect the fabric as you would a bed mattress. The sofa bed seat lifts up and there are extra blankets, sheets, pillows.
The kitchen boasts brand new cabinets - high gloss white on top and a walnut grey wood on the bottom, as well as brand new sink and faucet.
Ceiling height in most of the suite is 7'5" tall except in the kitchen where it is slightly lower at between 6'7" and 6'11". This is quite high for a garden or basement suite in Vancouver.
Also, there is a charming patio just outside the suite door (the backyard) which guests can use and a gazebo (pictured) as well as patio table and chairs. While enjoying the outdoor area, please respect noise level for neighbours and please no noise after 10pm. Also, no smoking!
Please note that no breakfast or food is provided.
The location is great, close to everything that Vancouver has to offer and is in the community of Dunbar, a very safe neighbourhood (west side). Close by neighbourhoods are Kitsilano, Point Grey and Kerrisdale. Very close to Pacific Spirit Park (two blocks), fifteen minute drive to Granville Island, thirty minute drive to Stanley Park and the Aquarium, depending on traffic in downtown core.
There are windows in every room (except bathroom)! Parking is available on the street.
Also, if you are not planning on bringing a car, we're just steps to the bus stop. Just walk outside to the front of the house and the bus stop there takes you to UBC, the beach or downtown. If you look up Translink dot ca, you can plan your bus trip from the suite to many fun places to visit and it will tell you how long it will take and if you have to make any transfers. It's about 12 minutes bus ride to the nearest Skytrain station and 18 minute bus ride to Jericho beach (with a 0.11km walk). 20 min bus ride to Kits Beach. Dunbar is close to Kitsilano, Kerrisdale, Point Grey, UBC, the best/safest neighbourhoods in Vancouver.

Our family lives upstairs so you may hear us walking around, as you are in the downstairs suite. We try to stay quiet, but if you're looking for a noiseless suite, this may not be for you. The benefit of me being upstairs is that I am available to help you with questions, enquiries. P.S. I also check my email very regularly but not quite so with cell phone voice mail, so please contact me through the airbnb app or via email or text.
Also, the suite is only appropriate for three or less unrelated guests. I.e. I could have two couples or two sisters and their two friends or a family of five but not more than three unrelated persons. Sorry about that. It's an insurance thing.
Lastly, I will likely request to increase the cleaning fee for stays of longer than ten days by another $75 to $150, depending on the length of stay.
Please treat the home as you would treat your home and please leave all as you found it.
No illegal activity.
Please remove your shoes upon entering the suite.
No other guests to stay over other than booked for in the reservation.
No smoking anywhere on property or even outside the house within thirty feet of any windows or doors. If you or anyone in your party is a smoker please book elsewhere.
Please turn off lights and appliances when leaving the suite for the day.
Sorry no pets
Please do not flush any feminine products or paper towels down the toilet.
The garbage can be bagged and thrown in the black lid garbage can in the back alley or in front of garage door. Recycling of bottles and cans goes in the blue bins (also same location). Recycling of paper and cardboard boxes (flattened) can go in yellow bags there.
Key can be returned to the lockbox when leaving. Thank you for your stay!
Hello and welcome guest! I am a mother of four (triplets and a single!) and I'd love to share our downstairs garden apartment space with you. I have a BSc from the University of BC. I then studied accounting through the school of accountancy of BC and received my CA degree (now CPA) and work at an international helicopter company. I have lived in the home for seven years and I have enjoyed this neighborhood immensely. There's a small town-y feel to it with kids involved the neighbourhood little league or soccer or hockey league and children playing hide and seek and capture the flag on their front lawns with an annual block party and the block Christmas party.
My favourite things to do are gardening, reading, Netflixing, shopping and yoga-ing! I'm an accountant by trade, but more of an artsy person in real life. My motto is Live and Let Live.
Your stay can be as private as you like, but I most certainly welcome questions and any requests for advice. If I'm not around, please use the airbnb app and I will respond very quickly!
