I preferred to to look for another place even though I had already paid my whole stay at pura vida because of the noise - especially coming from Corinne's parrots - the lack of privacy and the strictness of the rules.

Roberto had not realized it was a guest house and thought he would be alone in the house. I think he had not read well the information before booking. The house is surrounded by nature in the jungle. There are a lot of birds singing, and my parrots are part of the family. They sing and talk and most of my guests love them and search their company. They are beautiful, kind and not so noisy. If we do not hear birds, you do not go into a house in the middle of the jungle, we remain in the city center.

We had a great stay in Corinns brandnew guesthous which is in a amazing place in the jungle, not far away from the city Cancun! The perfect stay if you want to be outside in the nature and also near for travelling, like Isla Mujeros! It is a very clean and comfortable little house in the junglegarden, everything completly new builted and behind a wonderful pool, which you can use and which is also perfekt clean. Corinn is a warm and helpful person, we liked her a lot! She take care for everything in a great way , that you will feel good. if you want to stay between city and natur: this is the place to be! Next time again!

The place is beautiful in terms of natural beauty. Corrine is a lovely host and lover and carer for animals and has a beautiful bunch of birds and cats and takes great care of them like her children. The pool is beautiful and taken care of very well by Corrine. I found Corrine a nature lover and someone who works tirelessly and with incredible affection for animals which was very touching. She was very helpful with luggage and giving me a drop while leaving and a very compassionate person from what I could sense with my conversation with her. The whole property has a very natural feel and one is well and truly in the midst of nature. However, there were a few issues which can be improved upon as follows: 1. the property is quite far from the airport and the directions are not easy even for the taxi folk to understand - Corrine helped by giving instructions on the phone - but it took a lot of money (USD 70) and time for the taxi drivers at the airport to figure out. Without a car and maps it is very difficult to stay in the property, since it is a bit out of the way and at least 45 minutes to the hotel zone. This may be specified very clearly on the website and further landmarks/address details may be specified. 2. There was no food anywhere close by, I arrived at night and was very hungry. I had asked for bread- just anything from Corrine - since there was nowhere to eat - after a bit of prodding, she kindly offered me crackers which feeds her birds and an apple and grapefruit. Some arrangement for emergencies where guests have arrived late at night such as basic bread and butter/cheese at least can be made - these can be made chargeable if cost is an issue. 3. The water pressure is low at night and there was no hot water at night as it is heated by gas which had run out. The gas in the kitchen was not working either. This may be looked into - it would be nice if the hot water issue can be checked before a guest arrives. 4. The wifi connection in the room was poor as we were out in the jungle. 5. It was cold at night and the blanket provided was not warm and needed to be washed/cleaned as it had a musty smell. As mentioned Corrine was a delightful person and host, but as a place to stay it was not without its issues as mentioned above. If someone is willing to compromise on certain comforts and conveniences as set out above for the advantage of staying close to nature then perhaps this place is for them. This was my first Airbnb experience. I moved out after the first night and forfeited what I had paid for and moved into a hotel in the hotel zone.

The boyfriend did not come, so she came by herself at the last moment, so she was very disappointed and very depressed! They had rented a car and as she can’t drive, so she was obliged to take a taxi at the last minute. She paid 700 pesos for the taxi (so it was 37 usd and not 70 usd). I explained to the taxi driver by phone how to get there and it took 20 minutes to come. She let me carry all her luggage, two huge heavy suitcases and she did not even try to help me. (as I also am a woman) She asked me some bread and I could not give her because I didn’t have. (I eat tortillas, no bread). But I gave her some cookies and fruits (it was very late). The cookies were not for the birds, I just told her that I give some occasionally to my birds, because they like them very much. She decided to move one day before the departure date to a hotel, because alone, without a car, without knowing how to drive, and so sad to stay alone in the middle of the jungle, she thought it would be easier for her. I was very nice withe her and I accompanied her to the city center to take a taxi, as I had not planned to go into the city center. That’s true, there was more gas in the bottle the next morning (after I checked it the day before and it was ok), these kind of things happen. The bottles have to end one day! But I offered her immediately to use the other bedroom with bathroom, which is right next to it, to have a hot shower, because this other bedroom had a full tank of gaz. In fact she was mostly very disappointed to travel to Mexico and arrive alone, without her boyfriend to spend the holidays. The boyfriend had to get another flight and he didn’t come. But it was not my fault that she was so depressed. Instead I tried to help her as much as possible. And I listened her for hours, telling me about her life and its problems, kindly and compassionately. As I was concerned for her, I even sent her some email few days after her departure for news and ask her if she was all right…
