Luxuriously equipped classic bell tents with private cooking and fire pits, nestled in 13 acres of pasture & woods, only 3 miles from the fishing village and stunning beaches of Aberporth and a short drive from the historic town of Cardigan.

Sloeberry Farm is located at Cryngae Mawr which was was founded in the 1820's to make use of the natural spring to power a mill and dairy. Its sits in a sheltered spot with stunning views across the countryside, a private lake and lots of nooks and crannys to explore.

The six traditional bell tents provide luxurious camping with real mattresses (not airbeds), high quality linens and coir floor matting. They are very cosy when zipped in of for the night but we also provide blankets for colder nights or for sitting wrapped up by the fire with a glass of wine.

They accommodate up to four people with one double bed and two futons but call us to discuss if you would like another arrangement.

Each comes fully equipped with high quality cooking equipment such as cast iron skillets, stainless steel pans and coffee pots.

High specification gas burners make cooking outside easy but most guests prefer to cook and BBQ over the fire pits as the sun sets into the evening.

At the bottom of the meadow are modern toilets and hot gas powered showers each hidden in a traditional style hut built by a local craftsman.

We wanted everyone to feel like they had boundless space so we only have a few tents in the large meadow.

Everyone is free to roam around the farm and discover areas hidden away for private picnics or just sit around the tent and soak up the sun. Local paths and country lanes lead down to Aberporth for a walk to the coast, beaches pubs and restaurants.

Jo, Shaun and Mabel are always happy to offer advice on the area, help set up excursions or arrange fresh fish from the local fisherman.

The Cardigan Bay area was voted by lonely planet as best place to be in the world right now, its absolutely stunning with cliff walks, sandy bays, pristine national trust beaches and small fishing villages with local pubs and restaurants. Cardigan town is a short drive away and has an abundance of local shops, artisan bakers, pizza makers and award winning restaurants.
The area is famed for outdoor pursuits such as coasteering, surfing, sea kayaking, sailing, mountain biking and walking; its known as the best location in the UK to spot dolphins, puffins and rare wildlife.

Dogs and pets are always welcome, please let us know in advance as there is an additional charge of £10 per dog per stay, maximum one dog per tent this is to reflect the additional cleaning cost passed on by our cleaners. But do please bring your own blankets throws etc and don't allow pets on the beds or furniture

It is a requirement of booking that the lead guest provides :
The names of all guests (ages if under 18), home address, an email and mobile tel number
We need these details for our insurance and in case we need to get in touch with you on the day of arrival.
The lead guest (booker) is responsible for behaviour of all other guests in the group.

Tents house rules

The Bell Tent will be ready for your arrival from 4pm until 7pm. Do plan to arrive before 7pm as we need to be around to show you where everything is and how it works. Check in later than 7pm is by prior arrangement only.

We really want all of our guests to feel at home at Sloeberry Farm but there are a few basic rules to make everyone's stay more pleasurable and ours as hosts easier!

Please park only in designated spaces, as other areas can be slippery and we don't want you to get stuck.

Please Try to avoid treading mud into the tents by removing muddy shoes on the decking.

Essentially leave the tent clean and tidy as you found it, e.g please ensure all washing up is done, BBQ's and Fire pits clean and items replaced in the boxes.

We understand accidents happen but if you break anything let us know so we can replace it ready for the next guests.

Bag all of your rubbish and drop off at designated areas

No smoking or naked flames inside the tents at anytime, For safety reasons fires are only to be set in the fire pits provided.

please do not throw cigarette butts in the grass, it may only look like one to you but they soon mount up and the grass isn't an ash tray.

We can't allow additional visitors or guests to the property other than those in the booking, this is to ensure we comply with fire and insurance regulations.

Please keep dogs on the lead at all times as we are surrounded by farms which often have livestock in the meadows and our chickens wander free range.

We want your children to have fun but please supervise them at all times, there are steep drops, deep water and all the hazards found on a working farm.

The legal bit....the booking guest is responsible for behaviour of all other guests and we reserve the right to recover any damages or additional cleaning costs via payment details held on Airbnb.


Dogs at Sloeberry Farm

We hope that your dog enjoys his break as much as you do. We have some rules specifically for your pets to ensure that the everyone has a safe and enjoyable break.

We would ask that you keep your dog off of the furniture and beds. Please do not leave your pet unattended at any time in the tent.

Wherever you are on the farm, fields, tracks or surrounding lanes please bag any dog mess and place in a tied off black bin bag or in the dog waste bin in the refuse area.

Please don’t just think, “I’ll kick some leaves over it”, “it’s not my garden someone else will do it” or “this field is just rough grass it doesn’t matter”. There’s nothing worse than standing is someone else’s dogs mess, its not fertiliser and unbagged it poses a health hazard when carrying out maintenance such as strimming or mowing.

Dogs must be kept on the lead at all times (even just going to the car) whilst on the property regardless of how well behaved they are. Please be aware that there is a lake, some steep drops and often farm vehicles moving around. If your dogs need to run around off the lead to let off steam our local beaches are dog friendly and ideal for letting your pet run around.

We are surrounded by farms which often have livestock in the meadows, our chickens wander free range and some other guests just don’t like dogs. It is safer for your dog and a condition of our planning that all dogs have to be on the lead at all times so we must insist this is adhered to.

We are sorry if this all feels a bit draconian but we have to have one set of rules regardless of the dog or owner to ensure everyone has a fun and safe stay at the farm. If you feel you are unable to comply with any of this you will have to leave Sloeberry Farm.
